Bakesale Betty's Fried Chicken Sandwich

From one of my favorite restaurants in Oakland. Grabbed this recipe from muffintop's blog when I got a hankering. Also made this sandwich using fried tilapia. Still good but I found that all I really wanted to eat was the coleslaw filling. Hope you have an appetite cause this is one huge sandwich. -- posted by ITsyBItsy

(Galletto con Salsa di Spinaci) OOOOOOOOOOOOOh, is this yummy! It is a nice change from a plain baked chicken breast and is easy to make in quantities for a dinner party. I have made this with both Cornish Game Hens and with Bone-in, Skin-on Chicken breasts* and it turns out fabulous either way!
If you love ricotta and penne, this dish is perfect! I wanted to post in case anyone else wanted to try, plus, you can see the nutritional information. This makes a great somwhat lighter tasting dinner or a great lunch. I would recommend that if you want a little kick add a few dashed of red pepper flakes or a little bit of cayenne pepper. otherwise serve with a great salad and some garlic rolls. -- posted by FoodieFoodie

This is a very basic recipe for broiled scallops that came from "Jimmy's Harborside Restaurant" in Boston years ago. Quick and easy to prepare. Serve with rice pilaf or couscous and spinach or "something green." Makes a pretty plate and is delicious.
Philly Cheesesteak Stromboli

This is a variation of the recipe submitted by Chef #844314 for the Poor Boy Stromboli (http://www.recipezaar.com/304802). The SO absolutely loves those Dominos Philly Cheesesteak pizzas®, so I decided to modify Chef #844314's recipe to incorporate the flavors of the pizza.
Cheddar Broccoli Chicken Skillet - Pampered Chef

I received an email this morning from my Pampered Chef Consultant and this is one of the recipes that was featured. Here is what the email said: September is National Rice Month - "Rice is a good choice for a healthy diet. It is a good source of complex carbohydrates and can help you achieve a reduced fat diet." --American Dietetic Association

Rice protein, when compared to that of other grains, is considered one of the highest quality proteins. It has all eight of the essential amino acids, necessary building blocks for strong muscles. Rice is also a good source of other essential nutrients - thiamin, riboflavin, niacin, phosphorus, iron, and potassium. For more information, visit http://www.usarice.com/consumer/nutrition.html and enjoy this recipe from our Cookware Product Use and Care card. -- posted by senseicheryl

Chipotle Mexican Grill Barbacoa Burritos

I received an email today from Ron from RecipeSecrets.net and here is what he had to say:

Ron here from RecipeSecrets.net - hope all is well.

When I used to work in NY city, I would eat lunch at Chipotle
Mexican Grill at least twice per week. I simply loved their
burritos and I was not the only one. The line would literally be
out the door starting at 12:30pm. We would fax in our orders in
advance to avoid the ridiculous lines - that was until other people
caught on and began faxing in their orders also :-(. Even so, it
was always well worth the wait.

Here's a recipe from Chipotle which I'm sure you'll love. Special
thanks to Kaci for posting this on the Secret Recipe Forum. -- posted by senseicheryl

Lodge Salad Like Smokey Bones

This is my favorite thing to order at Smokey Bones, a place popular for BBQ and watching sports. Darden Restaurants closed a lot of the locations and sold the rest to another company in 2008. This is my own copycat version of the salad, not an official restaurant recipe. This is very filling even as a vegetarian salad without the chicken or shrimp; at Smokey Bones they give you an unrealistically huge portion - making this recipe only serve four. Use any dressing you like; I really love Recipe#318828 however it's not an exact replicate of Smokey Bones' dressing. -- posted by ~Jen~

Campechana: Mexican Seafood Soup

Campechana is a Mexican seafood cocktail usually made of oysters, baby octopus, mussels, shrimp, squid and scallops. The seafood mix is prepared in its broth with vegetable juice, lime juice, ketchup, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, avocado and cilantro. Of course, jalapenos for the spicy kick (I only use 2 SMALL ones for flavor)! Tried this in a restaurant for $20 a bowl!!! I was able to find all these ingredients at Wal-Mart for under $35!! What you can't find in the mix purchase separately (my mix didn't have oysters, mussels or shrimp so I bought canned oysters, skipped the mussels and got frozen shrimp). This is in one word: SUBLIME. -- posted by Misses Wilson

Panda Express' Beijing Beef Copycat

My fiance is a Panda Express FANATIC. When they came out with Beijing Beef, my fiance would only order that item. Panda Express featured the recipe on their site, unfortunately, they have taken it down now. The recipe is on my other computer so I searched online and found the same recipe on blogchef.net
I'm going to be tweaking this recipe because the sauce doesn't taste 100% like the real thing. -- posted by ThatSouthernBelle

Alternate Honey Barbecue Sauce With Riblets (Applebee's Copycat)

This is a recipe I originally found in the Recipe Link but it's also posted in various other cooking sites. I include this recipe here, because Honey Barbeque is one of my favorite sauces ever!
Advice: Feel free to try the sauce with any piece of meat, other than riblets ( my personal favorite is chicken legs or chicken in general ) but avoid hard and chewy meat like beef (unless it's your thing). You need something soft, try pork. If you favor more spice than sweetness, cut down on the honey and increase the spice quantity for a sharp difference. Also, you can use 1 and 1/2 tablespoons of brown sugar, instead of molasses.
By no means whatsoever, don't mix the sauce with the riblets in any stage of their cooking. Simply soak them in the sauce just before serving. Water and fat that meat excretes during baking will liquefy and spoil your sauce. You can cook them altogether in a deep frying pan though, just over low heat.
Matches well with side dishes like french fries, coleslaw and very mild blue cheese or sour cream dip.
Enjoy! -- posted by TheGlutton

Almost Like Cpk Greek Pizza

I REALLY like California Pizza Kitchen's Greek Pizza. It's light, refreshing and I found myself thinking about this pizza so much, I had to find a way to make it at home.
This recipe is a work-in-progress and would love to hear your suggestions. I'm basing this recipe off of some of the information found here: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20080930103528AA7XB96
I obviously made tweaks here and there. CPK doesn't use Hummus, but I personally thought that would be good and was pleasantly surprised that it worked! You can obviously use Bread/Pizza Dough, but I don't have that kind of time after work so I did use store bought Flatbread/Pitas and Hummas.
The Chicken can be marinated in the rub and/or cooked before hand. The Prep Time can also be reduced by chopping the veggies and making the Tzatziki sauce the night before.
Serving size is negotiable. 2 6" pita pizzas is a serving in our house, but if you serve this with a salad you could probably go one each.
Can be veggie just by omitting the chicken. -- posted by Tarteausucre

This is the famous dish from Cunetto House of Pasta on "The Hill" in St. Louis. Recipe published in the Riverfront Times' Recipes 1997.
Primanti Bros. Style Sandwich

My tasty take on a Pittsburgh Original. I live just north of Pittsburgh, and not far form a Primanti's. We go there quite often, but when I want to save money or am really craving a sandwich, I just make one. Or course it's not as god as the original, but pretty darn close!
For the recipe I put corned beef as my meat, but you an use any meat you prefer. Primanti's offers up Pastrami, Ham, Cappicola, steak, fried egg, turkey, and much more on thier sandwiches. This recipe is for two sandwiches. -- posted by Kitchen Wytch

Irish Roast Beast

This is a recipe from Joanne Fluke's mystery "Sugar Cookie Murder." This pot roast is made with Guinness stout (what else?) and has directions for either making in the slow cooker or in the oven. Something different for St. Paddy's Day and the kids (and grown-ups) will get a kick out of the name.
Vegetarian Western Bacon Cheeseburger

I know, this sound weird. I've been a vegetarian for 5 years and there are some items I missed from my meat eating days. I was having a craving for a Carl's Jr. Western Bacon Cheeseburger one day and decided to vegetarianize it. This is super easy to make and tastes very much like the original. To save time and to make it taste more authentic, use onion rings from a fast food restaurant like Sonic. I prepared the burger while I send my boyfriend down the street to Sonic. Also, slightly burning the Lightlife Smart Bacon is what makes it taste like real bacon. -- posted by danakscully64
