For some extremely peculiar reason, there is no root beer available where I live, but there is McCormick's root beer concentrate. I scoured the world to find a recipe and here it is. C'mon, admit it! At some time in your life, you have eaten "Hamburger Helper." I know that it was a staple in our house when I was a kid. The little talking glove is comforting in a twisted kind of way. :o) Anyway, this recipe looks like Hamburger Helper, but tastes much better. Sure there are recipes out there that are probably better for you or tastier but when you are trying to eat quickly AND on a budget, this recipe is a MUST. -- posted by Malriah

YEAH!!!!I finally found my recipe for Coke Cola Cake. Apparently I originally found it and then re-found it on All Recipe submitted by Ellen Champagne or maybe not. This is, as you might expect, a gigantic Jaffa cake. Not much else to say is there? It's great for parties and things. For those of you who aren't familiar with Jaffa cakes, just google-image-search "jaffa cake" and you'll find pics. Little tiny flat sponge cakes with orange jelly on them and all coated in chocolate. The Garbage Plate (Burger Version)

If you are from the Rochester area that phrase would make your mouth water. This is any drunk college kids best friend. It is a mixture of meat, carbs, and more carbs piled onto a foam container found in Nick Tahou's and "hots" food joints all over the Rochester area. For about 6 bucks (including tip) you get this plate plus a soda, not too shabby. They have a veggie version, fish, and my favorite--the white hot version. When I left the Rochester to go to school the first thing I would do when I came home was got to a "hots" and order a garbage plate. Also dont expect to finish this unless you are drunk. For more info on this delicious dish go to wikipedia.org and search garbage plate. (I put the direct link on here before but it messed up the rest of the recipe for some reason, so youre gonna have to do it the hard way lol) Also times are approx. if you make your own sauce or not. Also to speed things up I use Recipe #226112 for the potatoes. This recipe is scaled to one, but it can really feed at least four people.... but whats the fun in sharing a garbage plate?? -- posted by Anme

I got this from the About.com web site. Their Source: Home Sausage Making by Charles G. Reavis (Storey Books) Reprinted with permission. Haven't made it yet, but I now know how to create a lower-sodium hot dog than those you purchase at the store. Will post an update after I try them; however, I'm currently looking for an easier way to handle the casings stuff. Wish me luck!!
