Judgment Day Cocktail

I invented this cocktail for people who generally do not drink alcoholic beverages, except on special occasions. It offers a bright, pleasant, and fruity (orange) flavor but without the alcohol "bite." But, my friends, the G-forces are certainly hiding out in there, so BEWARE! Three of these and you'll get to thinking that YOU'RE in charge of Judgment Day!
Actually, I named this unique cocktail in honor of the spectacular 1969 GTO which got dubbed as "The Judge". This early and beautiful muscle-car was only offered in the brilliant Carousel Red (which was actually bright orange) for the lion's share of it's first season and, its 400 cubic inch Ram Air engine made it a real Dreadnought of its day. And I said all that just to say this: The Judgment Day Cocktail thus shares many characteristics with its namesake, The Judge!
I think that you'll love it! -- posted by Bone Man

Blue Lagoon

There is a really funny story behind this one, we were in fiji a while ago and i was only just 11. my brother being a lot older than me had a traffic light, my mum asked the waiter if i could have a non-alcoholic traffic light and he nodded his head and agreed.(mum has a stong kiwi accent and is hard to understand). so my drink comes and i love it so much that i literally down it, i slept very well that night, we asked for the recipe and when we got it my parents were in complete shock to see how much alcohol was actually in it!!!
Cafe Brulot (Café Brûlot Diabolique)

A Creole flambéed dessert coffee that is still served in grand style at some of New Orleans finest restaurants. This is a very special after-dinner drink, spectacular for entertaining. Can be prepared at the table with lots of fanfare to impress the guests. There are special brulot bowls made to prepare this drink, but a round, chafing dish works well. If you don't care about fancy presentation, you can just use a saucepan over low heat on the stovetop instead. -- posted by littleturtle

Tecumseh Sunrise

This cocktail was invented by my former brother-in-law, Randall Brown, in 1984 who was at that time the bartender at Shawnee State Park Resort Lodge in Friendship, Ohio. This is a pleasant, sweet, dessert cocktail with a lot of eye appeal. Of course, Tecumseh was a Shawnee Indian leader of much renown, living in the Ohio Valley during the late 1700s, early 1800s. -- posted by Bone Man

Buck's Fizz - Champagne and Orange Cocktail

A Traditional celebration drink in our house, served on Christmas Morning, Birthdays, Anniversaries and almost all other "excuses" for a "knees up"!! We do use Champagne, but if this seems just too sybaritic & over indulgent, you can use any good quality "Fizz". Freshly squeezed orange juice is de rigeur, but again, you can get great "fresh-tasting" orange juices in bottles & cartons too.......but please, NO ice & unsweetened is best! -- posted by French Tart

Orange Tiger Martini

This martini is named after the RSC #8 winner - Tigerduck! It is totally scrumptious! After one, you will find yourself heading back to make another. I adore this martini! This martini is a celebration of the liquor, not a daiquiri. It is not too sweet, not too coco-nutty, and not too creamy. The mingling flavors party in your mouth. If you do not have two types of rum then use the one you have, just be sure they are premium rums or the result will not be the same. I created this recipe for RSC #9. -- posted by NcMysteryShopper

Agua De Valencia - Knock Your Socks off Spanish Cava Punch!

Valencia is true orange growing country, and this recipe is based on fresh orange juice, which is best - try not to use carton or bottled orange juice.
This is a great party drink recipe. You need to make it at least a day in advance. I like to leave a container of this mix in my freezer during the hot summer months. Whenever friends pop by (or if you've had a hard day!); it's easy to scoop out into glasses, add 7up or gingerale and you have a refreshing drink! I'm guessing at the serving amount, I just know that it makes A LOT! -- posted by LifeIsGood

The recipe calls for crushed ice, but I'm sure it would be great (and just as simple) to put whole ice cubes, with the ingredients, into a blender. -- posted by Rhiannon&Matt.gauci

Celebration Hot Rum Buttered Cider - Cider Hot Toddy

This spiced and hot rum buttered cider toddy is a wonderful drink throughout the cold winter months, and is perfect during the Festive Holiday Season as well. I use Scrumpy or local French Breton cloudy cider for this, which I believe is called Hard Cider in North America.
Iced Cafe Brulot Floats With Frozen Yogurt

We made this one lazy afternoon, when my bestfriend Judy and I started playing around in the kitchen. The flavor of this dessert is so intense; the portions are relatively small & are diluted with club soda. Use goblets, so that your efforts will shine. Didn't allow for cooling time. -- posted by Manami

Prohibition Party Punch

This recipe is from an old cookbook I found. Homemade wine or beer was legal as long as it contained no more than one-half per cent alcohol. From Every Woman's Cook Book by Mrs. Chas. F. Moritz (1926) p. 617. If you can find a bootlegger in your area, I think some rum or whiskey would really perk this up. This recipe makes a LOT! Please keep this in mind when preparing this party punch for your local Speakeasy :) -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Cranberry Cornucopia Sangria

Adapted from "Peterson's Holiday Helper," by Valerie Peterson (Clarkson Potter, 2008). This is a blend of all the favorite holiday flavors, not really a true sangria. You can use a sparkling cider or grape juice, or even a champagne if you'd like to. Cherries are an excellent addition to this drink as well. This is best left to sit for overnight to let the flavors blend well. -- posted by Jess4Freedom

Chocolate Orange Cream Cocktail

This is a drink that's as pretty as it is a sweet indulgence. In fact, we like to call it dessert in a martini glass. It tastes a bit like those Chocolate Orange Cream candy eggs, but a whole lot better and more grown up. Wanna really make this pretty? Drizzle some chocolate syrup lightly across the finished drink in a zig zag pattern.
Non-Alcholic Fruity Brunch Cocktail

This isn't just for brunch. It would be a nice non-alcoholic cocktail any time of day but it got the name because I threw it together this morning to drink while I put together Christmas brunch. It would also be nice at any party where there are people - and kids - that don't wish to drink alcohol but still want to feel part of the party. -- posted by Sarah_Jayne

Ruby Relaxer - Ruby Tuesday Copycat

This light and fruity drink is perfect for sipping on a summer afternoon. An undeniable girly drink (not to say that guys should not enjoy it as well), it has no taste of alcohol, nor the cloying aftertaste that some overly sweet drinks have. This recipe can easily be multiplied to make a crowd-pleasing punch for your next shower, party, brunch, etc. The brands listed are those that Ruby Tuesday lists on their drink menu (how nice of them to tell us what is in their drink so that we can come home and make it ourselves!) -- posted by Oenophilly

A boozy lavender fruit cup made with vermouth, herbs and fresh strawberries! How good is that! This is another gem of a recipe that I discovered on a recipe card from Wolds Way Lavender Farm in North Yorkshire, England – which is just 10 minutes from my parent's cottage. The delicately flavoured drink is the perfect way to unwind after a long, hard day........It is almost better than Pimms, and, as Pimms is my favourite summertime tipple, that is really saying something!
La Provence's Bourbon Old Fashioned

In November 2009, my husband and I were delighted to be able to have Sunday brunch at Chef John Besh's restaurant, La Provence, in Lacombe, Louisiana. We fell in love with everything we ate that day, and I purchased a signed copy of Chef Besh's cookbook "My New Orleans". Our waitress was wonderful; the manager was personable & friendly. We even chatted with the head chef, Erick Loos IV, and he signed my cookbook, too. We also had a wonderful drink - an Old Fashioned. Unfortunately, the recipe for this drink was not in the cookbook. So I emailed the restaurant and they graciously sent me their recipe. We cannot wait to go back! -- posted by Kat's Mom
