White Chili

This recipes is easy and very tasty. My family loved it. I adapted it from a recipe found here. You can adjust the heat by adding more or less cayenne pepper. I serve it over rice with sour cream and grated cheddar. -- posted by COLauren

Chili With Beans and Ground Turkey

Similar to "Mom's Chili-Crockpot Version" this chili replaces ground beef with ground turkey, tomato paste with diced tomatoes, and is a lower fat alternative. Great with grated low fat cheese and fat free sour cream on top.

Also, hot chili sauce to taste can be stirred into the crockpot to make this recipe hotter. -- posted by JulieMouse83

One Point Hearty Chili

A delicious Chili recipe that my DDIL shared with me. She got the recipe from a friend. This is a very easy to make chili using turkey, veggies, black beans & a packet of dry chili seasoning-I used McCormick-mild. Note: We like our chili more like soup, the recipe she gave me said to leave lid off, to let it cook down. This makes 20 one cup servings. -- posted by Barb Gertz

Trader Joe's Touchdown Chili

Had a sample in the store and it was very good and easy. I tasted it with turkey but you can use either turkey, beef, chicken or tofu. The bean salad is a 3 bean medley (Chickpeas, red kidney, and Romano beans) in a lemon and white vinegar marinade with garlic, onion, and oregano called Marinated Bean Salad and it is sold as a Trader Joe's brand product. -- posted by Oolala

Half-Time Chili II

This rich thick chili is suprisingly healthy using ground turkey (and no one needs to know)!!!! The basis of this recipe came from Bon Apetit 1996/Epicurious. I have made my own changes and used this recipe for 5yrs...potlucks, game nights, blizzards...
Ofcourse you can use ground beef/venison, different types of beans, but do not be afraid of the amount of garlic, it mellows out during the cooking. -- posted by Skrim

Not Your Typical Chili... Hot & Healthy!

This is a blend of my families recipe and an ultra modern version I created a few years ago. (Shhh! Don't tell anyone but its healthy!)

Note: I have swapped out lean ground turkey for Ground Boca before, this works fine but if you want to do this I recommend two packets, also don't add the Boca until a few minutes before adding the canned items. Boca doesn't seem to hold up too well in dry, high heat environments. -- posted by -JL

Sweet Turkey Chili

Necessity is the mother of invention! This is not hot/spicy at all, but can easily be jazzed up. I don't measure when I cook, so I guessed on the bisque and Worcestershire. This can easily be halved and I imagine that it would be a great crock pot recipe. I have a ton of left-overs so I am keeping some in the freezer for an easy meal later. -- posted by cuppythecake

This is a recipe that I found in a new cookbook that I just received called "Betty Crocker Country Favorites". I can't wait to try this one! Cannellini beans are large, white Italian kidney beans that are quite delicious. SPECIAL UPDATE NOTE 9/20/2008: One helpful reviewer suggested 1/4 - 1/2 teaspoon cheyenne pepper to spice this up a bit. Thanks for sharing! -- posted by senseicheryl

Turkey Cowboy Chili

My sister in law gave me this recipe and I tweaked it a little to my tastes. It is a quick and easy chili that can be ready in one hour - start to finish. You can use ground beef if you'd like. I just dislike the flavor of it, so use extra lean ground turkey instead. I will also note that this is a completely dairy free recipe if that is an issue for you :)

Enjoy and let me know if you like it !

Tasty Turkey Chili

A yummy alternative to the traditional, full of spices and vegetables. You wont miss the beans, but if you feel so inclined, garbanzos straight from the can go nicely with this dish. I prefer to use a homemade taco seasoning mix, but use whatever's most convenient for you. I also make the boullion using water and store-bought granules (make 2 c.- it's close enough). Serve with cheddar cheese and a dollop sour cream, with Recipe #329616 on the side to complete the meal. Found on another website and tweaked to make it more user friendly. -- posted by Munchkin Mama

Inspiration Chili

Inspired by ingredients I had on hand, I made and totally enjoyed this chili. While I used dried black beans, you can of course use others - a blend of northern, kidney, and black beans for example. I used organic ingredients, better for the environment and for us. I used a crock pot and so did not pre-cook the beans. If you cook this on the stove top, either use canned beans or pre cook the dried beans. -- posted by NancyDances

Healthy Flavorful Turkey Chili

This healthy turkey chili will blow you away! It's great to bring to pot-lucks and also great to satisfy your family! I've been making it for years and when fall and winter come around I get constant requests. When feeding a large party I will sometimes add macaroni or shell pasta and some cheese. I keep some in my fridge to have for lunch, dinner and a late night snack. It's a bit addictive! Adding cinnamon really rounds out the flavor and makes is a bit different from other recipes.
White Turkey Chili

I came up with this recipe after eating the White Chicken Chili at Ruby Tuesday's. My wife liked it because it wasn't spicy, and she can only take a little bit of spice. When I cook this, I am aiming to make it just spicy enough for her, and then I add chili sauce for myself. If you like hot, feel free to add more chili peppers, or even a habenero, which would give the chili a nice smokey hot flavor. Also, feel free to change up ingredients with the season: if it is summer, use summer squash, but if it is winter, you might substitute a yam for the squash. The trick is to stick with yellow and orange veggies. This is really good served over brown rice. -- posted by PhillGreen

My Favorite Turkey Chili

I've been making this for YEARS!!! I've got this written on an OLD recipe card... it's yellowed and stained.... I've used it ALOT!!! and made it many many times... unfortunately.. since my cooking style is using a recipe as a GUIDE.. (I'm alot like Rachael Ray, I don't really "measure" I just pour, and say... that LOOKS like the right amount.. LOL it comes out tasting a BIT different each time.. but ALWAYS AMAZING!! everyone LOVES it!! Because I've had it since I was a teenager, I honestly can't tell you where I got this recipe from... I just know it's always been a favorite. All of that being said... please know, I have rarely used the exact measurements.. and I've always played around with the ingredients... adding things, not putting some things in sometimes... this is a great STARTER recipe.. and play with it as you like.. WONDERFUL for leftover turkey.. as it's not the SAME OLD "Leftover Turkey Sandwiches" (not that I don't like those...)
My husband found this in Men's Health: "A Man, a Can and a Plan". SO easy, very healthy and tasty.

I usually use frozen corn rather than canned and make Dancer's Chili Seasoning Mix (Recipe #38719) rather than use store-bought seasoning.
Quick Turkey Chili

This started from a basic 30 minute chili recipe, but built into quite a project. The spices and their amounts should be, of course, tweaked to taste. Choose a beer you like to drink. I've tried Negra Modelo, Pacifico, and Blue Moon. Negra Modelo's been my favorite so far, but each of these beers has been really good. Try to go with a fattier turkey (the 93% vs. 99%), but if your supermarket only has the 99%, substituting 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter for a tablespoon of olive oil has worked for me in the past. -- posted by I'm cookin', good lookin!

Healthy White Bean Turkey Chili

I decided to get back on Weight Watchers and was googling recipes. I found one for white bean turkey chili, but decided to put my own spin on it. It is so good, hearty, and has a nice creamy and smoky taste. I only used one teaspoon of red pepper flakes because I was going to be serving it to my 2.5 year old. I was shocked she actually had like 4 hearty bites and was dipping her spoon in the liquid and slurping it up. This is a huge feat for my very picky eater. My hubby said it was a keeper. Also, I used two pounds regular ground turkey and one pound extra lean ground turkey. This recipe can also be OAMC and you could probably get 2 or 3 dinners out of it, depending on your family size. You could also use your slow cooker, just brown the turkey and your spices in a skillet, then transfer the rest of the ingredients into the slowcooker for the exception of the half and half. I would add that 30 minutes before serving. Enjoy! If you are counting points, there is 12 servings. We had hearty helpings, so I would say 6 to 8 servings if you are not restricting your portions. -- posted by Midwest Foodie

Hearty Ground Turkey Chili

DH and I enjoyed this hearty chili from Norman Kolpas' "The Chili Cookbook." While the recipe calls for masa harina, I think I would omit it next time as the chili really did not need extra thickening and I think it detracted from the flavor just a bit. Also, DH and I ate this chili in a bowl, we did not serve it over rice. It lent itself well to this method. I used baby bellas for the mushrooms. Finally, we sprinked colby jack (I think that was what I had in the fridge) shredded cheese over the top, which I think is a must. Cheddar or a mexican blend of cheeses would also be good. -- posted by Dr. Jenny

OAMC Basic Chicken or Turkey Taco Filling

This is a basic filling using cooked chicken or turkey and a chili seasoning packet for tacos, chili, or enchilada filling. I came up with this recipe on the fly after a busy day of work, school, and basketball practice using what I had in the refrigerator and pantry. I didn't have any taco seasoning, but had a lonely packet of chili seasoning from Aldi and used that instead. My picky kids, who were never keen on tacos before, loved it. This can be made ahead for tacos, chili, or enchiladas. Note: My kids do not like hot and spicy, so this is very mild. Add jalapenos or chipotle chilies to turn up the heat. Also my kids are small eaters, so I cut the tortillas in half and make mini wraps for them which works better for little kids than unwieldy tacos. OAMC: double the quantity and follow instructions below to freeze. -- posted by UrbanDesiMommy

Turkey Chili

This is my mom's chili recipe with a twist. I'm not a big meat-eater so I use ground turkey, but you can certainly use ground beef if you like. I like making it in the Crockpot and letting it stew all day (just don't add the meat until 30 minutes before serving or else I think it get too tough), or on the stovetop is fine too. Also my family is really into spice so I tend to use at least one habanero pepper but any chili pepper can be used or omitted altogether. The leftovers are wonderful!! Enjoy!! -- posted by coffybean
