			<description>A friend of ours dropped by one day with a few of these to share.  He got the recipe from his grandmother.  There are very few recipes I make using Cool Whip but this is now one of them.  I looked up Cool Whip Candy here on Zaar &amp;amp; there are a couple others posted but they use different cookies and Hershey candy bars.  I liked that this recipe uses chocolate chips, as they melt faster &amp;amp; I could buy a brand that I favor over Hershey.  We store the truffles in a large resealable bag in the freezer &amp;amp; just grab one or two whenever we have a bit of a sweet tooth.   Aside from some heavy duty stirring this recipe is very kid friendly. They are a tradition at my house for Christmas and we coat them in pink-tinted white chocolate for my daughter's birthday. 			<description>My Mom makes this amazing fudge every year at Christmas.  It's very smooth, creamy, gooey and rich- not all dry and hard like alot of recipes I've tried. It's unlike any recipe I've found.  You'll love it.  You'll blow everyone away when you serve this!  It calls for 4 cups nut meats but you can substitute those for whatever goodies you like (my all-time favorite is cherries). You can also add different flavorings to make your favorite!  My Mom has made this with crushed cookie crumbs, nuts, coconut, peanut butter, caramel, cherries, raspberry flavor, mint flavor, rum flavor marshmallows... there are so many I can't remember them all. The recipe comes from a cookbook called &amp;quot;Martha Dixon's Copper Kettle Cook Book&amp;quot; from 1963.  Martha Dixon was quite well-known at that time and had a cooking TV show that was really popular back then.  There was no Food Network back then.  It was Julia Child and later the Galloping Gourmet... remember them?  Anyway, her show was on TV for several years. 			<description>Ive adapted this recipe from one I found on the Simply Great Meals website. The original recipe uses pistachios; Ive used honey-roasted almonds.  Obviously, you could use whatever nuts you fancy or a mixture of several different nuts.  Once youve melted your chocolate, butter and marshmallows, no more cooking is required.  Great for lunchbox snacks, picnics and potlucks!  For the best results, use top quality chocolate rather than cooking chocolate.  Ive suggested Lindt, and if you choose one with orange or peppermint chips, youll add another subtle flavour.  Ive wondered also about using a fruit juice instead of the water but havent tried this yet. I love dark chocolate and so that is the direction I went and threw in the other ingredients to try to cut through the richness.
