			<description>A delicious and extremely quick-to-make recipe which I was delighted to find in the October-November 2008 issue of 'dish'.  As I don't like hot and spicy flavours, I made these with a mild paprika.  Those who do like foods hot and spicy might want to add cayenne pepper.  Please, do adjust the spices to meet your taste preferences.  As almonds boost energy levels particularly at those times such as early afternoon when - given the choice - many of us may choose to have a siesta, I intend to have these on hand in a container at all times at work as a quick energy-boosting snack. 			<description>Moist and flavorful these can be made with oat or wheat bran depending on what you have. You can put your choice of nuts  (my fav is walnuts) or dried fruit and vary the amount of mashed banana and they still come out great. Since I started using this recipe 5 years ago, I have kept these muffins on hand in our freezer. I save my brown bananas, freeze them and when I get a good amount puree them in my cuisinart so I can triple the batch of muffins. You can also make these as regular size muffins. 			<description>A deliciously different recipe for spiced nuts which I came across this afternoon in the current issue of the Australian magazine 'Woman's Day', and with my usual impatience just had to make this evening, with a few modifications - minus the chilli powder to meet our taste preferences - but I'd certainly make these complete with the chilli powder for friends, and have left the chilli powder in as an ingredient. In making these, I increased the garlic from 1 to 2 cloves, and I minced it rather than crushing it. I used cashews, macadamias and hazelnuts.  Why, oh why do I keep buying all these magazines each week?  Spot on if you guessed to check out their latest recipes!  And it was worth buying this week's just to have found this recipe! I posted this for safe keeping before my family tried it. I have to agree with reviewer there is not a whole lot of flavor for all the seasonings. I even doubled the onion powder, garlic salt, and ground mustard. I added 1/2 tablespoon brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon salt. This just still didn't due anything for the flavor. I like to reduce the flour and add wheat germ, ground flax seeds, I often add poppy seeds, the combinations are endless. I usually replace chocolate chips with nuts. Other times, I use dried cranberries &amp;amp; dark chocolate chips. I suppose you could also replace the cream cheese with peanut butter, yoghurt, or jam. You could also add cocoa. I used garbanzo beans from my freezer I cooked earlier and tripled the recipe so I'd have extra on hand.  Kalyn says garbanzo beans are one of the world's healthiest foods--one of the highest protein levels in plants and also a low-glycemic food.  Roasted chickpeas are eaten in Turkey as a snack called Leblebi.  This recipe came from Kalyn's Kitchen--the Moroccan Spice Mix is from Fine Cooking Magazine. I like my rice krispie squares to be heavy on the mallow so if you prefer, feel free to add more rice krispies to the mix!
I don't have easy access to good maple syrup this side of the pond so please feel free to adjust that amount too- 2 tablespoons of the fake stuff I get here is about right but you may need less of the real thing!

			<description>If you like regular S'mores, you're going to LOVE these!   Start with chocolate graham crackers, smear on some creamy peanut butter, add the chocolate candy pieces, the melty marshmallow; then top with the other square of graham cracker.   THE TRICK to making these perfectly is being patient while the marshmallow is roasting....don't stick it into the fire, twirl it slowly over the warmth, so that it starts to swell up.   That's your signal that the inside is getting all soft and smooshy--just right for perfect s'mores.    I first made these back in the early 90's when taking 10 girls on a church youth camp-out in eastern Washington State.   We cooked all our meals over the open-fire (no campstove!!) including chocolate chip pancakes MADE FROM SCRATCH, pioneer hotdogs (yum, yum!) and caramel apples roasted in the coals.
