Chocaholics Deeply Delicious Dark Chocolate Raisin Loaf (Abm)

Spicy Fruits bread are wonderful, I make them all the time, but sometimes nothing else but chocolate will satisfy! This is based on a Panasonic chocolate loaf, but I didn't think that the standard recipe was chocolatey enough and was too high-fat. This is much lower fat but much more chocolatey. It is wicked! - and it's delicious! (Even for chocaholics that aren't counting the calories). Incidentally I measure this entirely by weight not volume (so I can work out the calories and know exactly how naughty I'm being) so the volume measures are approximations. Including for a very thin glaze of Icing (confectioners) sugar and milk it works out at around 1990 calories for the 765g loaf or 2.6 kCal/g which is pretty excellent - lower than most store-bought fruit loaves let alone the cakes and the chocolate stuff! This is a really indulgent bread that actually is not all that bad for you (provided you don't have it every day :) - certainly a lot better than a candy bar! For serious extra luxury you might like to add a little rum, brandy or possibly sherry in place of some of the water. Yummy! -- posted by Ethan UK

Perfect to serve for a special breakfast or brunch! If your bread machine can handle it, the dough can be mixed in the machine. Two packages of yeast is equal to 4 1/2 teaspoons of bulk yeast.
Healthy French Bread Loaf (Abm / Machine)

This is a larger version of the other French Bread recipe I've posted - makes a 1 1/2lb loaf. It's a wonderfully open, light and delicious bread, and is actually slightly nicer than the smaller one I often make. It's egg-free, very low fat, sugar-free, and if using oil is dairy free, Kosher Pareve and suitable for vegetarians and vegans. I'm using this one more now that I have a new machine which makes larger and more conventional rectangular shaped loaves. It is based very heavily on a standard Panasonic machine recipe. I incorrectly listed this as suitable for diabetics, and most will be aware that white flour is more readily converted from complex to simple carbohydrates which will of course raise blood sugar levels. -- posted by Ethan UK

Bulgarian Easter Bread (Kozunak), for Bread Machine

I've been experimenting with my 2 lb bread machine to see if it can do the hard part in making kozunak, since it's so delicious, but a LOT of work. After much trial and error, this is what I came up with.
Quinoa Poppy Seed Bread for Machine

In spite of the whole grains, this is a very light, soft bread with a crunchy crust. It's a fun bread that even kids and those who scorn whole wheat will enjoy. Makes a 1 lb loaf.

You can substitute canola oil for the lecithin granules. The potato flour keeps it moist. No quinoa flour? Just use more whole wheat flour. Recipe makes a one pound loaf. -- posted by Elaine Q

Bread Machine Dinner Rolls

Although this is a bread machine, I have made these successfully on my stand mixer using a few amount adjustments --- here is the original bread machine recipe for you to enjoy! It states to select the sweet cycle for this! To bring the egg to room temperature faster place the egg in a cup of warm water for about 3-5 minutes. Prep time is rising time, it does not include the machine kneading time --- for pan greasing see my recipe#78579 -- posted by KITTENCAL

Mom's 100% Whole Wheat Air Buns (Rolls) for Abm

I find most 100% whole wheat buns are very dense, and let's be frank, taste like the floor of a barn. This recipe is an adaptation of my "Mom's Air Buns" #168628, and makes delicious, soft, healthy, and easy to make rolls.
Granola Raisin Bread for the Bread Machine

This is a moist, sweet bread that is fantastic spread with apple or pumpkin butter.
These directions are for a 1 lb. loaf in the bread machine. Be sure to find out if your machine require liquid or dry ingredients to go in first.

Note: This recipe makes a lovely loaf when baked in the oven - in this case, use the "dough" cycle on the bread machine only. -- posted by This Spatula

Mom's 100% Whole Grain Air Buns (Rolls) (Knead Dough in the Abm)

I submitted Mom's 100% Whole Wheat Air Buns (#168802) recently, but I have done some tweaking of that recipe, (which does not contain egg or milk), and I like this one better. Unlike many whole grain breads, these rolls are delicious, soft, and light. This is a reincarnation of Mom's Air Buns #168628, which uses white flour, and is a winner in the taste and texture department, but this one is much healthier because of the added protein and fibre. -- posted by Sweet Baboo

Farmhouse White Multi-Grain Cheese Bread - Bread Machine

A really easy & delectable loaf of bread from your Bread Making Machine! I use a mix of Farmhouse or Country White flour with Multi-Grain flour. The cheese is Parmesan cheese for a slightly "Cheesy" kick! This recipe is dependant on your Bread Machine - mine is a Russell Hobbs Breadman Ultimate and I use the White - Rapid - 2lb - Medium Crust setting for this bread; that is just a guide, as your bread machine might be bit a different - but that setting has worked for my family & friends! An easy-to-whip-up family loaf which is healthy & very tasty. It is particlarly good toasted the day after. If you don't want to use as much olive oil as I do - it IS good for you however - reduce it by 1 tablespoon; the texture is not as good, but it still works!PLEASE NOTE - I ALWAYS test my recipes at least twice before I post them - and photograph them wherever possible - as you can see from the photo, this bread DID cook right the way through, and, your measuremnts MUST be spot on when making bread in a bread machine! -- posted by French Tart

Christmas Jewelled Cranberry and Walnut Bread: Bread Machine

I always make my famous "The Day after Christmas Sarnies" - Sandwiches - with this bread!
Bread Machine Sweet Dough/Rolls

Since this is an original bread machine recipe I firstly tryed it on my Zojirushi Home Baker bread machine and results were great! I have since adapted it to make on my Kitchen Aid stand mixer, I will be happy to forward the KA measurement adaptations to any who wants them. Prep time is only for the last rising time, and servings is only estimated. This delicious sweet dough can be used for buns or sweet rolls. -- posted by KITTENCAL

Mile High Crispy Bacon and Onion Bread - Bread Machine

I could not believe how high this bread was - and it was an experiment too! Wonderful flavours of bacon & onion with just a smidge of mixed herbs. Just crisp up your bacon & fry your onion, and then it all goes in the breadmaker for a delectable bread! Just think - you can have an English Breakfast just by adding some scrambled eggs on top of a slice of this bread! -- posted by French Tart

Amsterdam Stol (Using Bread Machine)

Amsterdam stollen (or rather: stol) is just as traditionally connected to Christmas as its German counterpart, but is richer, more moist, and denser. Make sure that you use almond paste, not marzipan -- it is less sweet and a bit coarser than marzipan; if you can't find it, it is easily made yourself by grinding 150 g of blanched almonds with 150 g of sugar and one egg. The original recipe uses "bitterkoekjes", chewy Dutch almond biscuits, but as these are almost impossible to buy outside of the Netherlands I have replaced them with Amaretti. -- posted by Michael Keizer

Traditional Fruity and Spiced Hot Cross Buns: Bread-Maker

A wonderful old family recipe for HUGE and very light spiced Hot Cross Buns! I discovered that most of the hard work is taken out of making these, by proving & kneading them in the Bread Maker/Machine......unless you NEED to expel any frustrations, and then you MUST knead these yourself! You can make the crosses by either marking them before baking or, as I have done, by putting thinly rolled pastry crosses on top. An absolute "must" for the Spring and Easter Tea table! I also make these throughout the rest of the year - minus the crosses - for fruity, spiced English style teacakes! -- posted by French Tart

Crescent Roll Dough (Bread Machine)

We live where cans of crescent roll dough are not available. I searched the 'net for something I could use as a substitute. While I don't claim these are EXACTLY like the canned ones, they're close enough for us. This came from Allrecipes.com (called Blue Ribbon Overnight Rolls). I've always made the dough using a bread machine, so I can't give any feedback making it without the machine. The dough is very easy to work with. EDIT: I just realized this is very similiar to "Recipe #136121", but these ingredients are slightly different and provide bread machine instructions. -- posted by Lovin' the 'Zaar

Marianne Baguette - Traditional Rustic French Bread

A traditional style baguette de Campagne - rustic French bread, which is easy to make and has lots of body - it is NOT like the usual light, supermarket produced baguettes of today. This bread can be started off in a bread machine if you wish. Marianne is the national symbol of France; she personifies Liberty, Reason & the Triumph of the Republic. She appears on stamps, government forms, town halls, law courts and the former French franc coins & banknotes; she even appears on high quality Label Rouge Baguettes and Pain!! Therefore, I have called this homemade French Bread/Baguette recipe after her.....it seems only right and proper! -- posted by French Tart

Brioche With Chocolate Chips Abm

Posting so I don't lose this one. So rich, so good, so easy with an automatic bread machine. This was given to me by a French work colleague who got it from a friend off of a French ABM recipe site. If the chocolate chips aren't frozen, or even if they are, they melt easily and you may wind up with chocolate swirl brioche, which is still good. Sometimes it works out ok for me and sometimes it doesn't.
Amy's Yummy Banana Bread (Bread Machine)

I developed this recipe initially through trial and error, and have now got it pretty well 'right'. My husband and in-laws love this!
A few notes: you will need to keep an eye on the dough during mixing to make sure it isn't too wet. If it looks too wet, try adding 1 tbs of flour at a time until it looks like a rather wet ball of dough (it should be slightly wetter than ordinary bread dough).
I also made this to be slightly more 'healthy' than other banana breads - so feel free to add a bit more butter if you feel the need to be decadent!
EDIT: After one review, I realised that I should have said this is not intended to be a very sweet recipe; the main flavour should be the flavour of the banana. If you want to make it sweeter, use 1/2 cup of sugar, rather than the 1/4 cup specified. -- posted by Sooty_Cat

Rustic Flower Pot Bread Loaves or Bread Rolls

These Flower Pot bread loaves or bread rolls will certainly be a point of conversation and no doubt bring gasps of pleasure and admiration when you serve them! Moreover, they are so easy to make especially if you start your dough off in a bread machine. Bread was originally baked in terracotta or clay pots, so these are not so different from old fashioned bread made many years ago. You must make sure your flower pots are seasoned before you bake in them, but once they are seasoned they are ready to be used over and over again. I have added a list of suggested extras, and I always like to sprinkle mixed seeds on top of these - they almost look like seeds that have been sown in the flower pots! I have listed ingredients for basic white bread here, but you can add wholewheat, granary or rye flour if you would like a variation. I am sorry, but I have to say it, these flower pot loaves or rolls should turn out "Blooming Marvellous"! Had to be said! Have fun. NB: Strong white flour is the British culinary term for bread flour, flour that is used in breadmaking with a high gluten content. All purpose flour is NOT strong bread flour and will NOT give the desired results in this bread recipe. It NEVER crossed my mind that anyone would think that old flower pots are used in this recipe!! LOL! PLEASE use new plant pots and season them before baking the bread in them, as stated in the recipe..........I hope that helps those of you who may have been "lost in translation"!) -- posted by French Tart

Tomato Basil Bread - by Hand or Bread Machine

This breads' chewy crust pairs well with a steaming mug of soup. The pretty color and robust flavor are a great pairing with chicken or turkey cold cuts or a summer tomato sandwich. I use this basic recipe in my bread machine using the dough cycle; following my bread machines instructions. I then bake it in the oven. I also omit the red pepper flakes and, at times, omit the Parmesan cheese and replace it with an additional 1/4 cup of flour. Be careful and add additional flour a little at a time depending on the humidity in your kitchen. -- posted by Humble Bee

Another Cinnabon-Type Cinnamon Bun

This recipe is my adaptation of a really good recipe I found on The Gordon Family website. (http://www.gordonfamily.com/Recipes/cinnabon.htm). I adapted the dough recipe a little and use more filling than they recommend but their Cream Cheese Frosting is FAR better than any other I've ever found. I think the secret is in the use of lemon extract as well as vanilla. It creates just the right tartness. They suggest beating the frosting about 10 minutes but I never have and I have made this a thousand times. Everyone I know loves these buns. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. -- posted by Marysdottir

A traditional country-style French bread, made the old-fashioned way (although you can use the bread-machine if you wish).
Healthy Oatmeal Walnut Bread (For the Bread Machine)

Quite tasty! Starting it the night before gives the yeast lots of time to work. The oatmeal makes it soft and tender. Try one tsp of yeast for even more rise -- posted by Red Jenny
