			<description>Finally! A moist, gluten free muffin without any odd plant flavors or mysterious zing. The recipe calls for extra finely ground rice flour which at this time I've only found from Authentic Foods. The extra fine grind prevents the gritty texture often found in gluten free baked goods and gives the muffins a light crumb. I've listed individual flour ingredients for bakers with a stocked gluten free pantry but you can cheat and buy this flour blend premixed from Authentic Foods as GF Classics Blend.

			<title>Banana Pecan Coconut Muffins or Bread</title>

			<description>I tweaked a favorite banana bread recipe to give it more texture and flavor. The cardamom adds an unexpected flavor and scent and all the additions really take ordinary banana bread to a delicious new level. Cardamom is a relative of the ginger plant.

I make these as muffins because I am usually too impatient in the mornings to wait for an hour while a loaf bakes. If you want to make a loaf, I would lower the temp to 350 and bake a good while longer, just be sure not to bake it too long- you want it to stay moist. Be aware that some cardamom is fresher and stronger than others, so you may need to adjust the amount depending on how strong it is. 			<description>This is an easy to prepare, tasty dish using simple ingredients...my family loves it!  If you can't find the hash browns with onions already in with the potatoes, just saute 1/3 cup chopped onion and add that to the mix before baking.  While I use a 4 cheese blend, cheddar cheese alone would be fine also...the cooked cheese makes a delicious crust in the casserole.  Frozen hash browns would work too just thaw them before adding to the mix. 			<description>This is a recipe my grandmother gave to me and I believe she got it off a bag of Quaker Oats.  It is the best bran muffin recipe I have tried.  I misplaced the recipe and couldn't find it online anywhere, so I'm posting it here so I can find it.  I remember my grandmother making these when we'd go to stay with her and I loved them.   I usually store the unused batter in plastic containers in the refrigerator.  I fill the containers with the batter and then put a layer of plastic wrap over the top before I put the lid on...I find the batter keeps longer that way.  Also, by putting it in a couple of smaller containers, rather than one large one, the batter keeps longer because you aren't exposing it until you use it. 			<description>I came across this recipe in The Washington Post. Particularly clever, IMAO, is the use of wide mouthed 1/2 pint canning jars to bake the eggs. A decidely pragmatic twist I love.  Serve with mouillettes of your own design (sound fancy but are simply buttered &amp;amp; oven toasted sticks of your favorite breakfast bread) to dip into the jars brimming with perfectly set eggs (set white but liquidy yolks) &amp;amp; delicious accompaniments. Crispy hash browns on the side maybe too. Can see using this recipe as a base for spinach, mushroom &amp;amp; even individual custard rifts. 			<description>My friends and family are always getting on me to publish my recipes; I don't really use them, nor do I regularly remember even what I put into my dishes. I took this dish to a vegan potluck last night, and it disappeared in seconds. This morning I was awoken at gun point (exaggerated for dramatic effect) to post this recipe.... So, I thought it wise of me to comply. This recipe takes me about an hour of prep time, and about an hour to cook. There are shortcuts one may take to cut down on the prep time, but the first time, I suggest leaving ample time to prepare. I have used a variety of nuts for this recipe, all working out well (this last time I ran out of sesame seeds, so I used 2 tbsp of my tamari roasted pumpkin seeds, and 1 tbsp of raw pecans). I also like to make my dishes gluten free for potlucks, so I used &amp;frac12; cup of blue corn meal, and &amp;frac12; garbanzo flour in place of the whole wheat pastry flour, the taste was amazing, but a little more crumbly then whole wheat pastry flower. 			<description>Oh my gosh these are AWESOME!  This can of pineapple on the counter was calling to me, and my husband can't eat wheat, so if I make pancakes they're gonna have oats in them.  Plus, the Tahitian Pancakes came up on Heroes in the past week or so, so that's on my mind.
I combined two different recipes that I found online, one for pineapple pancakes and one for oatmeal pancakes.  Neither one is like this new version though.  SO AWESOME!  
One last thing, I used coconut milk instead of cow milk, since my husband is also on this non-dairy kick.

			<description>A few years back I was visiting friends in LA, and after a long day of fishing, a wonderful dinner with fresh fish of course, the next day we all woke up famished. Well ... biscuits with sausage gravy was the request, but I wanted to do something a little cajun. Our last vacation day, so it was clean out the fridge, but still trying to make something that resembled biscuits with sausage gravy. After a quick run to a local quick stop to get some cream and biscuits we were set. Well this is the creation, and it is really good. The only thing I have changed since I returned is that I love to add some scallions right at the end for a fresh flavor, but otherwise, pretty much the same.  Make this for a breakfast/brunch for family this holiday season.  And if you don't want to use andouille, use a spicy or mild sausage along with the cajun spices. And if you bake, make your own biscuits. I'm just not much of a baker, so I take a short cut and use a canned biscuit. We served this with some scrambled eggs and Bloody Mary's (it was the last day of vacation).
