			<description>These are really good. I got the orginial recipe from Sparkspeople but I made a few changes. I made mine gluten-free by using Bob's Red Mill Gluten Free All Purpose Flour (instead of the whole wheat flour), I used unsweetened applesauce (instead of oil to make it lower fat) and lastly I used vanilla flavored yogurt instead of plain. They were declared a huge hit by husband who has already inhaled 2 while I am typing this! 			<description>Williams-Sonoma Essentials of Baking book recipe. This cake came out very delicious and taste great with a cup of coffee. Just a couple of words of wisdom to newbie bakers: Always sift your dry ingredients (this helps make your cake lighter instead of denser). Make sure your eggs and butter are at room temp (otherwise your cake would not be as smooth). Follow instructions/measurements PRECISELY! Grease and flour your pan very well (this will help very much when it comes time to removing the cake from the pan). Have all your ingredients on hand and read the recipe before beginning (take it from me, you don't want to end up skipping a step or missing an ingredient because you rushed thru it). Do not open the oven while it is baking. Invest in buying a pastry blender. Always let the cake cool in the pan the indicated time or your cake will fall apart to pieces if you remove it to soon from the pan. This recipe requires atleast 3 medium-large mixing bowls. 			<description>I tweaked a favorite banana bread recipe to give it more texture and flavor. The cardamom adds an unexpected flavor and scent and all the additions really take ordinary banana bread to a delicious new level. Cardamom is a relative of the ginger plant.

I make these as muffins because I am usually too impatient in the mornings to wait for an hour while a loaf bakes. If you want to make a loaf, I would lower the temp to 350 and bake a good while longer, just be sure not to bake it too long- you want it to stay moist. Be aware that some cardamom is fresher and stronger than others, so you may need to adjust the amount depending on how strong it is. I had purchased a ball of pizza dough at the store so I used that as my dough for the rolls.  Worked out GREAT!! This will probably be our Christmas breakfast.....easy and YUMMY!!!  I am a &amp;quot;dump cook&amp;quot; so I approximate with measurement.  :-)  My kids LOVED these!!

			<description>This is a recipe my grandmother gave to me and I believe she got it off a bag of Quaker Oats.  It is the best bran muffin recipe I have tried.  I misplaced the recipe and couldn't find it online anywhere, so I'm posting it here so I can find it.  I remember my grandmother making these when we'd go to stay with her and I loved them.   I usually store the unused batter in plastic containers in the refrigerator.  I fill the containers with the batter and then put a layer of plastic wrap over the top before I put the lid on...I find the batter keeps longer that way.  Also, by putting it in a couple of smaller containers, rather than one large one, the batter keeps longer because you aren't exposing it until you use it.
