I also included an ABM method for the dough only
Tip: Starting at a high oven temperature then reducing it plus baking the bread with a pan of water on the bottom rack creates a crisp crust -- posted by wicked cook 46

Simple, Multi-Purpose, Bread Machine Sweet Bread

-This is my variation of a recipe that came with my bread machine. A family favorite.

A simple, lightly sweetened, fluffy, white bread dough recipe for the bread machine. Can be used for clover leaf rolls, cinnamon rolls, sandwich bread, or a dinner loaf. Recipe makes 2 - 1 lb loaves.

Could probably be easily converted to hand method, or for use with a stand mixer. -- posted by engravogirl

Mom's Crusty White Potato Bread

This is a bread that bakes with a hard crust on the outside and soft flavorful bread inside. For me, the crust comes out a bit dark but it might just be my oven. The flavor is superb though! To decrease rising time, I set up a space heater on my granite counters to warm the counters and increase the air temperature near the dough.I have taken 1/4 of the ingredients and made it successfully in the bread machine, too! -- posted by RussianMama

Cranberry Cinnamon Bread (Bread Machine)

This is so good. You may substitute raisins in place of the cranberries if you like. There is a Cranberry Bread that I buy at the store but it only comes out near the holidays and is very expensive. I love it but will never buy it again because this tastes almost like it and much better. It has just a hint of cinnamon and you can smell it when toasted. This is also good grilled with peanut butter, bananas, and honey. -- posted by Mimi in Maine

Bierocks (Cabbage Burgers) This recipe comes from a whole lot of trial and error and I think I finally got it right. I believe your family will love it, while the meat mixture is great, the secret is really in the bread.
Pumpernickel-Prune Bread (Abm)

Based on a recipe from BH&G’s cookbook, Bread Machine Bounty. The default measures are for the 1 pound loaf, and I’ve placed the 1 ½ pound measures in parentheses. My photo shows a 1 pound loaf. Cooktime reflects my Panasonic; your machine could make it in a lot less time! Tip: I always stir my flours before measuring; this seems to give me the most consistent results. I also check the dough during the kneading cycle to see if more liquid is necessary; for this bread, I added several tablespoons of extra water to get a nice elastic dough. -- posted by mersaydees

Whole Wheat Bread Machine Bread

A great every-day bread, good for toast and sandwiches. I have dark, coated metal pans, so I bake it at 350. This came from a great frugality blog called Wanting What You Have.
Portuguese Sofrito Bread (A B M)

Based on a recipe from Madge Rosenberg’s delightful cookbook, The Best Bread Machine Cookbook Ever – Ethnic Breads. She says, “In Portugal, slowly sautéed onions are called sofrito, a deeply flavored beginning, or base, for dishes with rice or potatoes and for stews. The Italian soffritto adds herbs and celery; the Columbian adds annatto seeds. With roasted meat or chicken from any country, pass this Portuguese sofrito bread, or make an open-faced grilled cheese sandwich to remember.” The default measurements are for a small 1 pound loaf; I have placed measurements for a large 1 ½ pound loaf in parentheses. I listed 4 hours as the bake time; your bread machine may have a quicker basic bread cycle. NOTE: be sure to use cooked rice! I haven’t tried this yet. -- posted by mersaydees

Easy Farmhouse Multi-Grain Bread (For Bread Machine)

I LOVE whole grain breads but hate paying three and a half bucks for a loaf. I cobbled this together to have as a quick and easy recipe using a minimum of things one would have to run to the store for. I have pretty much every ingredient on this list on hand most of the time. The only "special" item is the rolled whole grain hot cereal. I can find Bob's Red Mill quite easily and inexpensively, and a bag of it will make several loaves of bread. You can use seven-grain or ten-grain or 100-grain cereal if you want, of course.

This makes a really nice, soft, delicious loaf- perfect for sandwiches, with the nubby texture of the whole grains that I Iove so much. UPDATE: I also thought this bread just need a little "something" and now add 1/2 cup apple sauce. Put the apple sauce in your liquid measure first, then add the milk until they both together measure just under one cup. -- posted by lolsuz

Banana Nut Raisin Bread for Abm

I found this recipe on allrecipes.com and wanted to post it here for safe keeping. This is the best thing that has ever come out of my bread machine! A light fluffy tasty bread that my family gobbled up and asked for more! Remove your predetermined ideas of banana bread and try this yeast bread, the banana flavor is very subtle, but I think it adds to the nice texture. I am posting the recipe as I found it, but be warned I had to reduce the amount of yeast I used because when i used it with the full 2 1/2 teaspoons the dough spilled over the top of my ABM. I had better results with 2 tsp. -- posted by Darling76

Another Cinnabon-Type Cinnamon Bun

This recipe is my adaptation of a really good recipe I found on The Gordon Family website. (http://www.gordonfamily.com/Recipes/cinnabon.htm). I adapted the dough recipe a little and use more filling than they recommend but their Cream Cheese Frosting is FAR better than any other I've ever found. I think the secret is in the use of lemon extract as well as vanilla. It creates just the right tartness. They suggest beating the frosting about 10 minutes but I never have and I have made this a thousand times. Everyone I know loves these buns. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. -- posted by Marysdottir

Sourdough Raisin Walnut Bread (Abm)

Low-Carb Buttermilk Bread (A B M)

This is a based on a recipe in my Cuisinart Convection Bread Maker Recipe Booklet using the low-carb cycle. This is so delicious and healthy! Love it! The default instructions are for the 2 pound large loaf; I've listed quantities for the 1 1/2 pound medium loaf in parens. I cannot vouch that this recipe will work in a bread machine without the low-carb cycle. -- posted by mersaydees

Whole Wheat Bread (A B M)

Based on a recipe from BH&G's book, Bread Machine Bounty. This is very simple to throw into your bread machine with delicious results. The default measurements are for the 1 pound loaf; I've listed the measurements for a 1 1/2 pound loaf in parentheses. When I make this, I make the 1 1/2 pound loaf and have had to add an additional 2 tablespoons of milk during the kneading cycle. I also use buttermilk when I have it on hand. -- posted by mersaydees

Dried cranberries and toasted pecans in rye bread -- lightly flavored with ground cinnamon and orange oil, or leave them out if you prefer! -- The bread smelled heavenly while baking in my oven!
Sticky Buns (Bread Machine)

Use your bread machine after dinner to make these sticky buns. Then refrigerate overnight, and pop them into the oven in the morning. What a way to start your day! NOTE: If you prefer to bake them right away, let the buns rise at room temperature, lightly covered with plastic wrap, about 45 minutes or until they are puffy and the tops are about as high as the pan itself. -- posted by buckeye1953

Apple Butter Rye Bread

A rye bread made with apple juice, apple butter, cardamom, and toasted walnuts. Can be made as two one-pound loaves, or as one two-pound loaf -- see bake times below! NOTE: I use the automatic bread machine dough cycle only, and bake in my oven, therefore this recipe has not been tried on a complete bread machine bake cycle! -- posted by Kerfuffle-Upon-Wincle

Sandwich Rye Bread for Bread Machines

This recipe was inspired by one on King Arthur Flour, but I have simplified it a good deal. (Theirs has mustard seed and instant mashed potatoes.) The secret ingredient for getting that rye bread sourness -- pickle juice! -- posted by Debtex
