			<title>Lemon Soup--Almost an Aperitif</title>

			<description>Now that summer is past, I have found this most refreshing welcoming drink for next year (or even now).  It is served in a champagne glass when you arrive at the Levy-East Home (a bed and breakfast in Natchitoshes, Louisiana on the Cane River).  Don't let the name fool you...it reminds me of a liquified lemon icebox pie.  It can even be used as an opening course. 			<title>Andalouse French Fry / Burger Sauce</title>

			<description>This is a fantastic sauce.   It's similar to thousand island dressing although it uses fresh ingredients instead of a relish which gives it more of a gourmet twist.  I put it on belgium frites, traditional french fries and hamburgers.  I love it so much I've started keeping a jar in my fridge at all times. 			<description>Very Middle Eastern and very tasty. A somewhat sophisticated brunch treat if you will, and would also make awesome finger food for tea or a dinner party. Especially if it's one of those where the meal is light but hors d'oeuvres are heavy. And can you believe this awesome treat is healthy and vegan? I couldn't! For some ideas, try a mix of Chinese red dates (I used 100%) with traditional dates. Put in a dash of ground pistachio and/or cardamom, how about a teensy bit of honey? There's a lot more I plan on doing with that huge thing of almonds I bought at BJ's.

			<description>An Italian flatbread brushed with olive oil and flavored with grated Parmesan cheese, galic salt and grated Italian Seasoning makes this bread heavenly. A good friend of mine brought this over for Sunday Night football. We cut it into squares and topped with Prosciutto Panino rolled in Mozzarella cheese and toasted under the broiler for 5 min.... oh my, this is dangerously good! It is so easy to make. Can't wait to have this with a bowl of soup or top with Pizza topping, or to just dip in garlic olive oil. This comes from a bread machine cookbook with instructions to layer ingredients liquid first. Yummers! :) Family Favorite! 			<title>Simple but Tasty Potato and Pancetta Salad</title>

			<description>Delicious potato salad recipe that I made up.  I always make it for any BBQs or summer parties we have at home and there is never any left.  Also make it regularly to eat for lunches and it always goes down well with my friends who sometimes ask me to make extra portions so they can have it for lunch at work too :-)  A 1kg bag of potatoes makes enough for 4-8 portions depending on whether you are eating it as a full meal e.g. 4 portions if eating as a meal in itself, or 8 portions if serving as a side at a BBQ etc.

It can be eaten straight away but it tastes better the longer it's left for the flavours to mature.  I usually leave it at least overnight before eating but sometimes even longer, up to a few days and it tastes better the longer you leave it :-)

It actually took a recipe that CHILDREN can make for me to achieve 100% success with the elusive yeast!!! I followed the recipe with a few exceptions (subbed cardamom for the cinnamon &amp;amp; bumped up the raisins). I held my breath while it was in the 'rising stage', popped it in the oven with a prayer...and out came the most beautiful, amazing, wonderful yeast bread!!  

This is NOT a quick bread taste and not overly sweet. However, it is cerainly sweet enough to satisfy oneself, especially with a hot cup of coffee. But wait! There's more! If you think it's good the 1st day, it is OUT OF THIS WORLD the second day!!! The yeast bread softens and the spices really are more pronounced; it was sublime heated at Medium in the microwave for a minute and then liberal amounts of fresh butter slathered on the cut edges. I plan to serve this for years to come: as an afternoon snack, for a delicious but not too sweet Brunch addition...or just because! 			<description>This is the apple crisp from my childhood (there is no oatmeal in the topping).  If I could only pick one dessert to make the rest of my life, this would probably be it.  Mom always made this in her beautiful copper au gratin pan.  I bought the same pan when I got married, just so I could make this dessert.  Originally from the 1966 version of the &amp;quot;Woman's Day Encyclopedia of Cookery&amp;quot;, Mom adapted it slightly over the years (with a little help from Cooks Illustrated I think).  Cutting the apples into &amp;quot;cubes&amp;quot; (instead of slices)  helps the apples keep the apples firm throughout. I have made this with pecans or walnuts.  I have also made it without nuts.  I like it best with pecans, but all versions are yummy!!  I love it warm or cold. If you plan ahead on making home fries for breakfast, then you can pre-bake potatoes for this. Please note that cooking time does not account for baking the potatoes! This assumes that you have leftover baked potatoes and are using them this way. Raw or boiled potatoes will not work. We in Croatia are very lucky because we can buy salted anchovies from direct producers who make these salted anchovies the same way old Romans did. And I must say, these home made salted anchovies are much, much better than grocery-stores one. Beside anchovy we also salt srdela a.k.a. sardine. Srdela is heavier to eat, and more cleaning work. It is very salty meal and a person should not eat more than three salted anchovies per day (thats 6 fillets). I usually make a lighter version where I will strain the whey out of some plain yoghurt in a sieve and use 1/3 strained yoghurt and 2/3 mayo. If using this method the yogurt must be drained really well. The table was beautifully set with the household's best bone china, beautifully prepared sandwiches and treats were served and tea was carefully brewed to ensure the very best flavor. In 1880, Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management was published - here is what she had to say about making tea the proper way:

&amp;quot;There is very little art in making good tea; if the water is boiling, and there is no sparing of the fragrant leaf, the beverage will almost invariably be good. The old-fashioned plan of allowing a teaspoonful to each person, and one over, is still practised.

Warm the teapot with boiling water; let it remain for two or three minutes for the vessel to become thoroughly hot, then pour it away. Put in the tea, pour in from 1/2 to 3/4 pint of boiling water, close the lid, and let it stand for the tea to draw from 5 to 10 minutes; then fill up the pot with water. The tea will be quite spoiled unless made with water that is actually boiling, as the leaves will not open, and the flavour not be extracted from them; the beverage will consequently be colourless and tasteless,in fact, nothing but tepid water. 

Where there is a very large party to make tea for, it is a good plan to have two teapots instead of putting a large quantity of tea into one pot; the tea, besides, will go farther. When the infusion has been once completed, the addition of fresh tea adds very little to the strength; so, when more is required, have the pot emptied of the old leaves, scalded, and fresh tea made in the usual manner.

Economists say that a few grains of carbonate of soda, added before the boiling water is poured on the tea, assist to draw out the goodness: if the water is very hard, perhaps it is a good plan, as the soda softens it; but care must be taken to use this ingredient sparingly, as it is liable to give the tea a soapy taste if added in too large a quantity.

It's very good and the corn flavor just explodes in your mouth!
You would never guess that this recipe is mainly cheese and corn.
Make it in the crock pot.   Adjust the amount of cream cheese if you like.
Depending on how thin you like your sauce, you may or may not want to add the half and half.
