Teriyaki and lemon based chicken. This recipe my Mom used to make is to die for. Watch out - it's highly addictive!! You are guaranteed to overeat! :-)

Southern Cajun Italian Twist Chicken Bake

Prepare this dish in less than five minutes for the oven. Fast, but tastes like you simmered and fussed all day. It is similar to an Italian Chicken Bake recipe, but with a wonderful Southern Cajun Twist...thus, the name.

Spice it up as hot as you like or simmer it down for those with sensitive tastebuds. Slide it in the oven and you will have a delicious, healthy meal to bookmark in your recipe box for future meals. -- posted by Southern Living Recipes by Mama

Mole Poblano Classico -- Classic Mexican Poblano Sauce

Mole is a rich, dark, reddish-brown and smooth sauce made spicy and robust with a depth of flavor from a creative blend of seasonings that most often includes dried chiles, onion, garlic, and ground seeds (such as sesame or pumpkin (pepitas). But its best-known ingredient is unsweetened Mexican chocolate, which is used sparingly. Mole poblano is the sauce most commonly known outside of Mexico as mole sauce, although there are many different types. Courtesy of the Whole Chile Pepper Book, this classic Mexican sauce is excellent with poultry; serve it over a turkey or chicken breast. It is also terrific as a sauce over shredded chicken or turkey enchiladas. -- posted by Molly53

Rachel's Super Easy & Fast Home Fries

Time-consuming home fries on my watch? Never! I had leftover potato "meat" from making potato skins so I made home fries with them, from 8 small potatoes without skins so that probably equals about 4 regular potatoes and 6 small ones. If you plan ahead on making home fries for breakfast, then you can pre-bake potatoes for this. Please note that cooking time does not account for baking the potatoes! This assumes that you have leftover baked potatoes and are using them this way. Raw or boiled potatoes will not work. This makes 1 large serving, if you plan on making enough for your family pre-bake more potatoes. NOTE: The amounts shown aren't an exact science, more to give you an idea and show that home fries can be made quickly :) -- posted by the80srule

Gourmet Mac & Cheese W/ Lots of Variations

Tweak the spices to your liking. I like it also without the paprika, but garnished with a sprig of fresh rosemary.

Also try making it cheesier or adding or substituting cheeses. I've made an excellent one with brie. I've also used canned tuna instead of chicken for a quicker version.

I have also experimented with different seasonings and rubs for the chicken or tuna, including celery salt, cayenne, rosemary, cumin, etc.

Changing the pasta also greatly changes the flavor as well, in my opinion.

Can be made with dried spices but I recommend fresh!

To go above and beyond, you can also bake the finished casserole with a breadcrumb or other topping. -- posted by GoldsmithLissa

White Cheddar and Jalapeno Polenta

Also try using different types and boldness variations of Cheddar, or sub Monterrey Jack or a mixture thereof. Those shredded Mexican/Taco cheese packages work well too.

I use lots of jalapenos!!! Sometimes I add cayenne as well. If you want a milder version, remove the seeds of the jalapenos before you cut them. But try to use as much peppers as you can stand as it really gives it more dimension. Check your local gourmet market for milder peppers as well if you are sensitive to the heat. -- posted by GoldsmithLissa

Mini Crab BLT Sandwiches With Roasted Tomatoes & Avocado

These are simple little sandwiches which you can make all ahead of time and then just put together right before serving. A nice twist on BLT. A simple BLT spread with crab, roasted tomatoes and avocado make this great. I cut the small baguettes on a angle, secure each half with a tooth pick for a nice small bite size sandwich. Great for appetizers. Now, really hungry ... make this on some toasted Ciabatta bread for a decadent full size sandwich with a bowl of soup one night for a great dinner. -- posted by SarasotaCook

Turnip-Squash Vegetarian Budget Casserole

I'm currently on a budget casserole roll here. Feel free to sub the cream of potato soup for any other cream soup (my other favorites are mushroom and celery), they're pretty packed with flavor. It's just that not as many use cream of potato like I do! I like Stovetop traditional sage stuffing mix and the turkey one, any kind of boxed stuffing will do.
The "best" Meatloaf Ever!

My mother got this from my grandmother and her mother. The word meatloaf just doesn't sound appealing, but after making it for my husband for the first time, he was in love. Now everytime I make meatloaf he is on top of the world. This dish is even a child pleaser as my 4 year old daughter is begging for seconds. To make it a little healthier, I use a loaf pan with an insert so that the oil and grease from the beef drain away and the meatloaf is not sitting in it. -- posted by Pumpkin Pie's Mommy

Super Thin Pizza Dough

I experimented with a great recipe for dough, #70165, I use both now because sometimes I want my pizza "super" thin and other times just thin. Special note, I learned that when dealing with yeast it is important to have everything at room temperature, or slightly warm. This includes all ingredients, utensils, and bowls.
Pakistani Style Bhindi Ka Salan (Okra/Ladyfinger Curry)

Back in the days when I was a child every time my mother made this dish it was considered a treat among me & my siblings. Besides potatoes & peas, okra/ladyfinger is another all time favorite vegetable among the Pakistani population. It is usually served with roti/chapatti & yogurt or sometimes with Masoor Dal (lentil) here is the recipe of a basic okra curry that was passed down from my grandmother to my mom & down to me. It’s the tomatoes that give it a different taste compared to the other recipes posted so far.

Note if you want to make "Bhindi Gosht" (Okra curry with mutton) after frying the onions add mutton, let it cook on medium low heat for 20 minutes, then follow the rest of the recipe. You can also add 1/2 cup water to make it a little saucy. -- posted by Bint e Naeem

This is my husband's recipe. It is so simple and so delicious that I had to share it with you! I have added some optional instructions at the end. I have not tried the optional ingredients myself, but they sound like they would be very good. Try it and please let me know. I would appreciate the feedback. I have made this as a sandwich on buttered wheat bread with american cheese, alf alpha sprouts and sunflower seeds. Delicious!!! Enjoy!! -- posted by Stephanie Rybak

Sunday's Best Rice Pudding (Traditional Style)

In memory of my dad who used to take me to Pickwick Restaurant for rice pudding every Sunday afternoon. This is the closest recipe I could find to that which was served at the restaurant: Creamy with a hint of cinnamon and nutmeg. Delicious whether served warm or cold with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top. Also, if prepared ahead, rice pudding makes a quick breakfast in case you're too much in a hurry to make oatmeal. -- posted by Rachael Potter

The greatest way to make chili with deer meat.

You can adjust this recipe to suit your preferences, but the key is using the pork sausage to give you the fatty flavor that you miss with the lean deer meat.
Originally posted on VegWeb.com by beep_i_am_a_robot. I haven't made this myself yet, but I want to get the nutritional breakdown. I plan to tweek by reducing the salt content (using Bragg's amino rather than soy and leaving out the salt), reducing the fat and increasing the tofu (several reviewers on VegWeb have done this and liked it). This is the original recipe, including typing and grammatical mistakes. Serving size is estimated. -- posted by I hate coming up with handles :)

I never follow recipe's.. so this was one that after a lot of taste testing, I stuck with. Everyone loves it!! It's a great appetizer for the holidays as it is so light & not filling. But I have made these for my kids for a summer brunch or lunch also. I have never tried a lower fat version because I despise fat free mayonnaise & cream cheese but let me know if you try something & it works.
I have simplified it since my first 10 times making this recipe as well IT WILL SERVE 12-20 most will want 2nds, trust me :)
