Potato and Chorizo Empanadas

These are tasty meat pies filled with a spicy sausage and potato filling. The empanada is a staple in Hispanic homes and restaurants. I love them and make a lightened version I found in a magazine. -- posted by Dawn

Toad-in-the-Hole

This came from one of my favorite cookbooks, "A Treasury of Great Recipes" by Mary and Vincent Price. The ingredients are nearly identical to other recipes listed here but the preparation, cooking, and presentation techniques are different. They make great appetizers, even at room temperature or just gobble them around the stove. -- posted by sugarpea

Super Bowl Nachos

My favorite team will probably not be in the Superbowl but we'll enjoy these nachos none-the-less. The garnishes listed are just a suggestion, use your imagination! Obviously, beer is the best beverage to go along with this treat! -- posted by Hey Jude

Hearty Sausage Cheesecake

This is a recipe that was featured in the Rosedale Park Community Newsletter. It's a unique recipe that I created just searching through the fridge! This recipe is made for a "personal" sized (4.5 inches)spring form pan.
Fried Egg and Sausage Sandwich

I recently started having gallbladder problems and so have had to cut way back on meats and cheeses. This recipe is one I kind of invented. My toddler and I enjoy these for lunch, but they might also be good for breakfast.
Renee's Cream Cheese and Sausage Stuffed Marinated Mushrooms

Or easier to say Renee's Stuffed Mushrooms. Few people I know can cook like Renee. There are other yummy stuffed mushroom recipes out there, but none I bet so yummy as this.
Hot Diggedy Dogs! Bonfire Bangers in Wraps (Hot Dogs/Sausages)

A deliciously different way of serving up Hot Dogs for Bonfire Night or Halloween! Choose your favourite bangers or dogs, mine are high meat content Lincolnshire sausages with herbs, then oven bake them for ease with sticky roasted mustard coated onions - all in one pan! Serve with lashings of tomato relish or tomato ketchup for a great comfort dish on the run! The great thing about this recipe is that it can also be kept warm in the oven, whilst the spooky activities are in action, or dad is still trying to light the DAMP fireworks in the garden!! If you are serving this to little ones who may not like the mustard, just leave it out and add a little tomato puree instead for a tomatoey onion taste.
Super Sneaky Sausage Rolls

A great treat you can pack it with vegies and anything goes. Just adapt to suit what you have in the house. They freeze well and you can use any combo of vegies and herbs you like even a handful of grated cheese. Add some seeded mustard or worcestershire sauce or any other flavourings to your/the kids taste. If your kids are extra fussy puree onion , garlic and herbs in with vegies. Otherwise you may wish to soften onion slightly before using in recipe so the taste is not as strong. -- posted by LBella

Uncle George's Cocktail Meatballs

The secret is the simple sauce. Everyone compliments the unique taste. These are great for parties served from a chafing dish or crockpot with toothpicks but can even be served as an entre with pasta. You can even use premade frozen meatballs but they won't be as good. -- posted by Chef #1140177

Curry Puffs/Sausage Rolls

These are really easy and perfect for parties or any occaision where finger food is necessary. They can be eaten hot or cold, store well so they can be made a day or two in advance if need be and the curry taste is quite mild and suitable for kids! I'd say they could be frozen before baking so if you're in a hurry all you have to do is defrost and they're ready to bake. Did I mention they're really yummy! They usually don't last more than a day in my house! -- posted by Hayley_11

Herbed Chicken and Hot-Pepper Sandwiches

This dish is easy to prepare and travels well -- perfect for everyday meals and autumn picnics. To save time purchase a rotisserie chicken from the deli to make this entire dish in less than 15 minutes. From Country Living. Did not account for the 1 1/2 hours marinating time. :) -- posted by Manami
