I think it would be good on any variety of fruit or a mixture. The recipe from TOH said it could also be used on salad greens. -- posted by DDW

Deluxe Dressing for Fruit Salads

My Aunt Mona served this dressing with a large bowl of mixed fruit 60 years ago. It has been a family favorite for special occasions ever since. She layered the fruits in a glass bowl so their colors and textures could be admired by everyone. The dressing was offered in a gravy boat or served in a separate bowl. These are some of the fruits she liked to use: pineapple pieces; diced apples; peaches; pears; melon chunks or balls; grapes; bananas; Mandarin orange segments--and even nuts and chopped dates. Feel free to use your favorites.
Amount of servings depends upon how much fruit is used and how big the bowl is. -- posted by Joje in Oklahoma City, OK, United States

Until I met my Mother-In-Law, I always thought fruit salad came from a tin...imagine eh! This is very easy to make and so good. This can be made with canned pineapple, but if available use fresh. It makes the world of difference. For extra colour, you can add halved Bing cherries. Don't forget to try it on vanilla ice cream :) NOTE: Cooking time is chilling time. -- posted by Diana #2

Adult Fruit Salad -- Alcoholic (Martinique -- Caribbean)

This recipe was found on the internet at recipeisland.com. Preparation time INCLUDES the peeling, slicing & dicing of the fruit, but NOT the hour needed for the fruit to chill. Although this recipe should make 6 servings, it could make much less if someone decides to 'drink' it! -- posted by Sydney Mike

Peachy Fresh Fruit Salad With a Flourish of Angelica and Mint!

This was the first thing I was taught to make at secondary school in Domestic Science! We were all taught to make basic lemon syrup for the fruit salad, a great classic and a standard recipe that I have never forgotten! However, here I have deviated a little and have taken advantage of some excellent local peach syrup instead of the homemade lemon syrup I usually make; and I have garnished the salad with mint and angelica from my herb garden. I have suggested certain fruits to use, but the beauty of a fresh fruit salad is that you can always rustle one up with whatever you have locally and to hand. Serve with fresh pouring cream for a real treat! -- posted by French Tart

A wonderful recipe that combines a rich, tropical essence with a natural crunch. This simple and easy recipe will have you licking your plate! It's natural, raw, and combines sweet with bitter in a way that shouldn't be possible. However not only is this possible, it's delicious.

This is adapted from Freedom's Raw Recipes (http://bit.ly/1IeyHo) and modified so that it requires no special equipment. All you will need to make this recipe is a knife and a blender. -- posted by Winkyboy
