			<description>Its a surprisingly delicious way of serving salmon,  a surprise because when  I first made it, I just put things in first and - then had to remember what I had done!

Its a reasonably healthy dish too being a mixture of freshly cooked salmon, tomatoes etc. wrapped in puff pastry

Feel free to fill smaller tomatoes and use as an appetizer or side dish.  Recipe from the California Raisin Marketing Board.  NOTE:  After making this dish. . .I suggest making up a little extra dressing and pouring atop the salad filled tomato just before serving to perk up the flavors. 			<description>I love my lovage! Moreover, this is a delectable way to use up cold cooked chicken with this wonderful old-fashioned herb! This salad would be perfect for a light luncheon dish or an elegant dinner party starter. I have also made this to take on picnics with great success. Lovage is one of my favourite herbs and I have been growing it for the last 20 years in my herb garden. It is only now regaining its popularity - however, it was a much-used herb in medieval times, and later on, it was often used as a salt substitute. The leaves have a slightly salty, savoury celery-like flavour and are very pungent, so they mused be used carefully in cooking. Anything more than 2 tablespoons of chopped lovage in this dressing will totally overpower all the other flavours - I know this to my cost! An obscure little-known fact! Culinary celery salt and celery seeds are nearly always made with ground lovage seeds, as lovage seeds have a more distinct celery flavour than celery seeds! Serve this with poached salmon or cold chicken for an elegant dinner party dish. Adapted from a 16th century French translation of a book originally written in Latin in 1474. NB: Borage is an excellent culinary herb and can be used in a variety of ways. Borage is far better used fresh, as the flavour and colour deteriorate when dried and some essential oils lost. Traditional recipes recommend borage leaves and seeds, together with fennel in salads for increasing the milk supply in nursing mothers. 			<description>A delicious and different way to use sorrel leaves - sorrel is usually used in soup and omelette recipes. These little herb tarts are so summery and make wonderful picnic food, as well as interesting appetisers. I have wild, woodland and cultivated sorrel in my garden, but prefer the tangy almost lemon and vinegar taste of wild sorrel leaves in these little tarts. Serve these warm or at room temperature with lightly dressed salad leaves and a glass of crisp, chilled Chablis or Chardonnay. Notes on using sorrel leaves: Sorrel is one of those ingredients that feature all too rarely in our kitchens, yet its bite and acidity make it one of summer's top temptations. When you're cooking the larger, mature leaves, strip out and discard the stalks, just as you would with spinach, before cooking. 			<description>This is from a South Beach cookbook, but I like it with imitation crabmeat a lot better.  The original recipe also calls for the jarred roasted red peppers but I find I don't really miss it if I don't have them. One of my favourites and it's even good thrown in a tortilla with a little lettuce for a sandwich!  I will say though, it doesn't keep that well - eat it the day you make it as it get kind of watery and the avocado gets a little mushy the next day. It is absolutely DELICIOUS and very easy to make. 			<description>This yummy and super-rich chocolate brownie recipe has been adapted from a recipe by Maggie Beer, a revered Australian chef and author of many cookbooks.  If Sangiovese Verjuice is not available use any Verjuice; and you could use glac&amp;eacute; cumquat, ginger - or whatever glac&amp;eacute; fruit you like instead of the pear - and you could use a mixture of fruit and nuts. I'd recommend macadamia nuts. Some conversions: 300g = approximately 91/2 ounces; 250g = 8 ounces; 60g = 2 ounces; 40g = 11/3 ounces.  For the BEST results, do use top quality chocolate, such as Lindt 70% cocoa. 			<description>Delicious potato salad recipe that I made up.  I always make it for any BBQs or summer parties we have at home and there is never any left.  Also make it regularly to eat for lunches and it always goes down well with my friends who sometimes ask me to make extra portions so they can have it for lunch at work too :-)  A 1kg bag of potatoes makes enough for 4-8 portions depending on whether you are eating it as a full meal e.g. 4 portions if eating as a meal in itself, or 8 portions if serving as a side at a BBQ etc.

It can be eaten straight away but it tastes better the longer it's left for the flavours to mature.  I usually leave it at least overnight before eating but sometimes even longer, up to a few days and it tastes better the longer you leave it :-)

This recipe can be easily divided in half and so on. For the pudding I used the kind that you cook verses the instant. I think the cooked pudding has a much nicer and thicker consistancy. The amount below for the oreos is a guesstimate because it wouldn't let me put down 1 large package of oreos but either way just one regular package of oreos crushed is what you need. The ham is finely minced and mixed through with old-fashioned spices and butter, and it keeps for several weeks in a cool place. Another name for this recipe is Potted Meat, and it was VERY popular in Victorian times, although recipes for potted meats (preserved under butter) goes back even further than that historically. Wonderful in sandwiches for the teatime table or for picnics, lunch boxes and festive buffets. This is an adapted recipe from Mrs Beetons Book of Household Management, where she suggests that this is a nice addition for the Breakfast or Luncheon table. It is similiar in design to Asian Chicken Salad Wraps #55675, but a totally different flavor combinaton.  I like to use Azteca Burrito (9&amp;quot;) size flour tortillas because they are not fat free, but they have less fat in them than other brands that I've checked.  I think it would still taste good, but if you leave out the fresh ginger or the fresh cilantro, you will be missing the essential parts of the dressing!  I have found that about 2 chicken breasts is the right amount.  Leftover grilled breasts are perfect for this recipe.  Red peppers can be pricey where we live, so I either leave them out or substitute with green. 			<title>Elegant Tarragon and Tomato Butter Tea Sandwiches</title>

			<description>These delightful and rather unusual tea sandwiches combine the delicate French herb tarragon, with ripe tomatoes, garlic and shallots  a change from the usual basil and tomatoes. The tomatoes are gently poached with all the seasonings until a thick puree or butter is obtained; the tomato butter is then cooled and you are left with a wondrous sandwich filling, bursting with flavour and colour! The butter can be used for all manner of things, including a topping for a pizza or for toasted sandwiches. Use fresh bread, white or wholemeal, and garnish with fresh tarragon leaves. Any excess butter can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week in the fridge.
