Baked Corn from Scratch

I got this from my sister, who makes it for every Thanksgiving. I like it a lot better than the recipes using Bisquick or corn muffin mix. Tip: thaw the corn in a colander in the sink and you won't have to drain it afterwards! -- posted by Marg (CaymanDesigns)

Easy Sweet Potato Casserole

The absolute best recipe. I counted as serving 6 because everyone takes a second helping!!! I usually make a double recipe for special gatherings and it is always gone at the end. It is quite sweet and you can decrease sugar some. I am putting full amounts of sugar in this recipe but I always use 1/4 cup LESS for each type of sugar. -- posted by Digboo

Leftover Chicken or Turkey Rice Casserole

I had a look at some of the other recipes like this on Recipezaar but mine is a little different so here it is. Occasionally we will have a roast turkey as a treat and this is what I make with the leftovers. I haven't made it with chicken yet but I'm sure it is just as tasty as with the turkey. It is also kid friendly, my 17 month old daughter will eat this no problem.
Chicken Stuffing Casserole

Extra veggies make this dish a hit with kids and parents alike! It helped my picky eaters learn to like more veggies. This is a low-maintenance dish, quick & easy, especially if you prep the chicken or even the whole casserole the night before. I also like to make this with Thanksgiving leftovers, but it's good any time of year you have leftover poultry. I also improve the nutritional value by using low-fat, low-sodium, and whole-grain products whenever possible or by substituting homemade ingredients. -- posted by Heather3271

If you want you can use more cheese and or and mix it up with the soup and milk into the green beans.
Heavenly "chicken" (Frichik) Casserole

A great vegetarian comfort food that also makes a great holiday dish. This recipe is a favorite among many that have discovered the deliciously tasting Worthington FriChik. You can also use real chicken, mayonnaise, milk and even add some cheese if you're not vegetarian. Before becoming vegetarian I made a casserole very similar to this one regularly. I got this recipe from a good friend that got it from another friend's cookbook. Worthington FriChik has egg white in the ingredients and there is cream in the mushroom soup, so its not vegan. I've been trying to use as little dairy as possible so I use soy milk and vegenaise (the yummiest soy mayonnaise). -- posted by Enjolinfam

Mom's Oyster Casserole

My mother has made this casserole every thanksgiving for as long as I can remember. It just wouldn't be the holidays without it. If my brother can't make it home for the holidays, it is one of his special requests when he is able to get home. The prep time is me using a food processor to chop and doesn't include the time to cut oysters in half if they are too large. I hope you enjoy it as much as my family does. -- posted by Tish in OH

Vegan Green Bean Casserole

This recipe is kind of a mix of ideas I got from several recipes and I love it! I made it for my family for Thanksgiving and they ate the entire dish. This is by far one of the simplest recipes you can find. And it's cheap and easy to make! Definately let this sit for a while after you take it out of the oven. It won't look done, but once it sits and cools, the sauce will thicken up, and it stays hot for a really long time. -- posted by tendollarwine

Fluffy Carrot Souffle

This is a delicious easy side to serve at a Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, it may be doubled if desired and may be made well in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake -- the first time I made this I used 3/4 cup sugar, that was too sweet for our tastes, start with 1/2 cup and add in more until desired sweetness is achieved, white sugar may be used in place of brown but I find that brown is better, Splenda may also be used if desired :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

Homemade Giblet Stuffing for Turkey or Chicken

In my photo you will notice a darker portion of the stuffing; this was the bit that was stuffed into the turkey itself and after roasting it has a crispy outside coating. This is a delicious savoury stuffing that I make every year for Thanksgiving. During the year I love to make it with a whole chicken minus the giblets as I can't find chickens that come with giblets in the UK. It's fantastic and whatever doesn't fit in the bird you can bake on the side. Note: I sometimes like to use a mixture of white and brown bread in this recipe. NOTE: Since the giblets will take a while you can do everything else while they are cooking. -- posted by Summerwine

Every year it is my BF's and my job to bring the green bean casserole to the Thanksgiving dinner.
French's Green Bean Casserole W/A Little Twist!

This recipe uses the base "French's Green Bean Casserole" with a few little additions from me which according to my friends makes this the best Green Bean Casserole ever! They never knew that this was even close to the French's recipe! There are only a few minor differences, but it does give this classic a great twist! I made this for the Thanksgiving that my friends and I have about a week after the traditional Thanksgiving. We normally spend that with our families so this is for our Thanksgiving where we can drink and gossip :) -- posted by **Sunday**

Kittencal's Cream Cheese-Stuffed Chicken Breast

If you are a garlic-lover such as myself you may want to mix in 1 tablespoon fresh finely minced garlic or 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder when melting the butter --- plan ahead the rolled breasts need to be refrigerated for a minimum of 3 hours or up to 24 hours before breading, this will allow for easier handling while breading and firm up the cream cheese mixture --- these are very good! -- posted by KITTENCAL

Grandma Louise's Sweet Potato Casserole With Praline Topping

This is my Grandma Louise's recipe for a sweet potato casserole. I swear it is the best thing I have ever eaten. She makes it every Thanksgiving, Christmas, and Easter. If you are bringing this to a party, it can easily be reheated by covering it with aluminum foil, placing it in an oven at 350°F, and heating it for about 20-30 minutes or until just bubbling. Enjoy!

Jiffy Corn Casserole (5 Ingredients) Easy & Delicious!

Okay, I have made this in the past for "Mexican" night & poker nights... but then we had this again a few weeks ago at a friends party and just had to post the recipe for easy access & safe keeping. There are several recipes out there for this casserole, but they are all different. This one has no eggs (which seems to be hard to find) and uses only 5 ingredients. It's so easy to make but always a crowd pleaser - try it at a BBQ, alongside chili, or as a Holiday side-dish... PS- I make a double batch & bake in a 9x13x2 casserole dish. Also, if you add about 3/4 cup of sugar to this, you could serve it as a dessert :-) -- posted by BlondieItaliana

Stuffed Pumpkin

I took this to work this week, and got rave reviews on it. People loved the fact that they were being served out of a pumpkin. Even though the recipe calls for a sugar pumpkin, I actually made a triple batch and filled a jack-o-lantern pumpkin for work because I needed something that would serve a lot of people. However, jack-o-lantern pumpkins are not very good for eating themselves so everybody just ate the filling, whereas you should actually scoop out part of the flesh of the sugar pumpkin with the stuffing.

I originally got this recipe off of here, but went I started to review it, with my list of modifications, I realized that it had changed so much that it was a completely different recipe so I am posting my own version.

Note: You can modify the spices to your tastes, and I use Smart Balance in place of butter. -- posted by MistyCat82

Hg's Rockin' Lean Bean Casserole! - Ww Points = 1

Here is yet another Thanksgiving Day recipe from Hungry Girl! The holidays are here. Know what that means? It's green bean casserole time! But did you know that even though the main ingredient in the classic dish is green beans, each serving can have about 250 - 300 calories and TONS of fat? How can that be? It's all those crazy canned fried onions that are crammed into and piled on top of the thing. One little can of those crispy catastrophes has roughly 900 calories and 70 grams of fat! Eeeks! The good news is, with just a few easy swaps, you can make your own version of this holiday fave, for a fraction of the fat and calories. Check out HG's NEW recipe and share it with everyone you know...

(Serving Size: 1/8 Casserole - 80 calories, 1g fat, 255mg sodium, 13g carbs, 4g fiber, 3g protein -- POINTS® value 1)

Please note that all of the can sizes are approximate as none were provided in the recipe from Hungry Girl. I will update this when I make the recipe! :-) ANOTHER NOTE: ***This recipe will rock your holiday world!!!! The key ingredient here is the Crispy Delites Red Onion Chips. You can buy them online at heavenlydietstore.com or yummydelights.com. In a pinch, you can use an ounce of onion-flavored soy crisps instead. -- posted by senseicheryl

Mushroom Green Bean Casserole

A french-style green bean casserole minus the fried onions and using homemade white sauce with fresh mushrooms and onions. This is very similar to Kittencal's Recipe #128905 , but mine does not use water chestnuts or almonds, and mine uses Cheez Whiz process cheese instead of shredded cheddar. You can use two 16-ounce packages of frozen french-style green beans instead if you like. Use more or less cream depending on how thick you like your sauce.
Cauliflower and Potato Gratin (Russ Parsons)

A simple, satisfying vegetarian recipe than can be served as a holiday side dish or a or as a main the rest of the year. Do be sure to cook the cauliflower well to mellow the flavor. And make the white sauce a little thicker than you might think appropriate -- the cauliflower and potatoes will both give off some moisture while they bake.
