Chicken and Dressing Casserole

This was one of my mom's recipes. It's a little bit different than those already on 'Zaar, but every bit as good. Sometimes, if I'm in a rush, I'll use cooked chicken breast strips (found in the refrigerated meat section) . I prefer white meat. That being said, you can also "tear up" a rotisserie chicken if pressed for time. My mom used to poach boneless chicken breasts. Any way you make it, it's "good & tasty" (as per my mom's notation). Note - prep time does not include cooking the chicken. -- posted by Sweet PQ?

3-Ingredient Pan-Simmered Italian Boneless Pork Chops

You will NOT believe how good these pork chops are, after seeing how EASY they are to make. These are so simple, yet worthy of serving to company. I get rave reviews every time I serve them and I'm always asked for the recipe, yet almost embarrased to give it! The trick is to cook slowly with enough heat, but not so much that the chops are boiling to get tough and dry. And the cooking time is very flexible...you can simmer these for up to 6 hours if you'd like. (By the way, I consider the salt and pepper "freebies" in the ingredient count!) -- posted by Mom67

Mountain Rice (Arroz Da Serra) - Portuguese Brazil

This is from "Cuisines of Portguguese Encounters", which as recipes from the author's travels thru Portugal and its former colonies. This dish was made by Portuguese settlers combining their foods with the customs of the Tupi-Guarani Indians It's now part of Brazil's national cuisine.
Tagliolini With Pecorino Romano and Black Pepper

Don't let the number of ingredients fool you, this dish offers a lot of flavor despite it's simplicity. Be sure to get high quality ingredients; it makes a big difference in a recipe with so few ingredients and it's still ridiculously cheap to make. Even the pepper is important, don't use the powdery stuff that's been sitting around for a year, splurge on some high quality peppercorns; you won't regret it.

The lack of oil is one of the most notable things about this recipe. While some add oil or butter to this dish, you'll find it really isn't necessary. Instead you use the starchy pasta water to create an emulsion sauce with your cheese which will stick to the pasta beautifully. As for the pasta itself, taglioni is a particular cut, but this recipe would work just as well with something thicker like tagliatelle or fettucine.

Although it's an old Roman favorite, I got this recipe from a recipe blog called "Rachel Eats" which I highly recommended. I wanted to post it on here to give it a wider audience. -- posted by OwlMonkey

Frozen Baby Meal 1 of 6 (Spaghetti)

This is one of six frozen baby meals I used to make for my son. A friend gave me the combination and with minimal preparation you save yourself time and money. All six are really pretty good and I've made them for myself in a pinch. I would either try to use leftover meat from other dishes I'd prepared or intentionally make extra to use for these meals. My son used to have a three-compartment baby tray with lid and I'd put one or two frozen cubes in the first slot, a little baby vegetable in the second slot and a little baby fruit in the last slot and he was set for lunch. I'd have his tray ready the night before or in the morning and by lunch the frozen cube(s) had almost thawed and just needed a little warming in the microwave. The serving sizes are difficult to determine since it is dependent on the age of the child. -- posted by Queen Puff

Spicy Meatballs and Couscous

This title is a bit misleading--I don't find the dish to be very spicy, but some people do, hence the warning label. I made it up one night when I had fifteen minutes to get dinner on the table--I juggled my pots and had it ready in twelve! Don't worry if it sounds like it needs more herbs or spices, it is tasty as is. The peanuts are a South African thing to add--try it at least once. -- posted by GreenEyed Precious

Fastest Lunch or Dinner Ever! (Healthy Too, W/Black Beans)

Forget wasting time waiting in the McD's line. This healthy dish is more delicious, nutritious, and fast. All 4 of my kids love this because it is mild, not like most black bean dishes. To be sure, it is simple and plain, but sometimes that is the best. It can be supplemented with as many things as you can imagine--grilled chicken pieces, cheese, cilantro, tomato, black olives, green onions, etc., but we all love it just like this. -- posted by annlouise

This is a recipe that I put together and love. Very simple. Only 3 ingredients. Very moist. I put it together for a diet that I'm on and now this is the only way we eat fish. This can be used for numerous kinds of fish. Freshwater, flounder and salmon are my favorite. You can increase the amount of filets. Keep oven the same temp and only increase time by a couple minutes. -- posted by lovin2cook

Frozen Baby Meal 3 of 6 (Chicken Soup)

Easy and Delicious Stir Fry Sauce

This is so easy to make and tastes amazing on any stir fry. I usually use Chicken and loads of veggies, but pork or beef or even seafood would be great as well. The measurement are very approximate, as I NEVER measure when I make this. Just taste it as you go and adjust as you wish! You may need to make more or less of the sauce depending on the size of your stir fry. The servings are approximate based on my family. -- posted by Bexxx

Easy No Boil Pasta Bake

Campbell's used to make a jarred pasta bake sauce that I loved when my kids were little and time was short! When it was discontinued I discovered that the same recipe could be used with any jarred pasta sauce. My oldest son, who is away at college, asked me for some easy recipes that he can make with minimal mess and time and this recipe popped into my head... I thought I'd post it since I couldn't find any others like it on Zaar. -- posted by Hollyism

This delicious broth, redolent with garlic and enriched with the vitamins and minerals of fresh spinach, takes its name from an old folk saying that garlic is as good as ten mothers.
