Orange White Chocolate Chip Cookies

Delicious, sweet, and aromatic cookies. My little brother closes his eyes when he eats them and thinks they taste like Trix cereal. I think they just taste delightful. The first time I made this recipe I spilled 1/3 bottle of the orange extract in the bowl. The cookies were still great. If you are partial to orange flavor, add a full tablespoon instead of the recommended amount below. -- posted by galexa

Harriet's Wheat Germ Cookies

Very tasty homestyle cookies. This recipe is from my college housemother. There is lots of fiber in here to offset the guilt of the sugar and fat. I use wholewheat pastry flour, but you can use the flour of your choice - it is not critical to the outcome. The chocolate chips and flax are optional. You will need a strong arm to mix the dough - I recommend a stand mixer. -- posted by SassyStew

Healthy Walnut (Or Chocolate) Cranberry Oatmeal Chewy Cookies

These are such unique cookies! These cookies become very thin when they cook, and the addition of brown rice syrup (better for you then sugar... has complex carbs to keep you fuller longer) makes the cookie very chewy and almost slightly sticky.
Chocolate Fudge Cookies With Toffee & Dried Cherries

These cookies have a crispy exterior and a soft and chewy interior. The various flavours and textures (rich dark chocolate, chewy sour cherries, and sweet crisp toffee) combine to produce a deliciously addictive cookie. From Regan Daley's cookbook, "In The Sweet Kitchen: The Definitive Baker's Companion". If you are using cherries, make sure they are plump and soft. If you want smaller cookies, decrease baking time. Dough freezes very well. These are fabulously gooey when warm. -- posted by blucoat

The Best Homemade Chocolate Chip Cookies Evar!

That's no exaggeration. It's all about the technique, and the slightly higher ratio of brown sugar to white sugar... Prep time includes one hour of chilling in the refrigerator. Don't underbeat the butter and sugars. Don't skip the slipping the parchment or silpats onto a hard surface step. This somehow carmelizes the sugars so you get a gorgeous crispy bottom and chewy top/middle. Try not to eat these all at once! -- posted by Lizzymommy

Best Ever Chocolate Chip Cookies

I started with the basic back of the chip bag recipe and have modified it until I ended up with this final recipe. The cookies will be slightly chewy, but crisp on the edges for dunking. This recipe makes about 10 dozen cookies. I put the dough in wax paper and freeze in 1 dozen size rolls. Just remove the paper, slice the cookies, and bake straight from the freezer. -- posted by asmilliken

They weren't fluffy enough and they didn't have nearly enough oatmeal! I found out one day when I ran out of white flour, that whole wheat tastes great in oatmeal cookies. I like to pulse the oats in the food processor a few times so they're extra fluffy, but instant oatmeal works very well. -- posted by Coyote's Laugh

Passover Almond Thumbprint Cookies

These delicate little almond cookies, from "Gourmet" (April 2006), are really delicious. They don't taste like Passover cookies and are good enough to eat year-round. The contrast between the crisp cookie and gooey-sweet jam is pretty addictive; you may want to double the recipe. You can substitute a whole almond for the jam, if you prefer. If you like marzipan, you'll love these! And they are quick to whip up. Dough requires 1/2 hour to chill. -- posted by blucoat

This is my mom's recipe that she has been using since she was first married 60 years ago. I have searched thru all of the popular recipes here and this one is just a bit different.....most use only brown sugar or have both sugars but then don't use both baking powder and baking soda. I've never had these cookies turn out wrong and they freeze so well. Whether they get reviewed or not, I know I'll be making them for years to come and now I know they are safe here. -- posted by HokiesLady

Greeny's Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I will admit, this is similar to both the Hershey's and the Ghirardelli cookie recipes - the back of the chip bags are my best sources of inspiration. :) However, I live at high altitude, so I have changed it up a bit for that and for my family/our friends' tastes. I find that they never flatten (once out of the oven) and they stay chewy for several days. They also freeze well. My store-bought chocolate chip cookie-loving nephew even asked if I could make more of these once they had all been eaten. That was awesome. I have substituted Splenda for half of the granulated sugar portion, and it works well, but I think any more than that would compromise the texture too much. -- posted by Greeny4444

Helen Corbitt, Neimans first chef, developed this recipe back in the 50's; and it's still as good as ever. The secret is to ice the cookies when they have completely cooled; you can spread a thicker layer of icing that sets up well and won't smear.

Nut and Egg Free Cookies

These cookies are sure to be safe in any school! And taste awesome too! One of our children started at a new school this year and it turns out to be a nut and egg free school because of the seriousness of the allergies that some of the children that go there have. As a result my wife started scouring different recipes for snacks that were egg and nut free to send along with our daughter for school. She didn't really like any of the ones she tried so she ended up creating her own out of a combination of all the cookie recipes she tried. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do. -- posted by Chef Ryoni

Peanut Butter Oatmeal Cookies

This recipe came from me liking peanut butter, but peanut butter cookies don't stay chewy enough for me. Since I love oatmeal cookies, I sort of combined the 2 flavors and here's what happened. When I first met my husband, he swore he didn't like oatmeal cookies. Now around Xmas, he knows I'll start baking and he asks for these every year! I have served them with a bit of Nutella inside like a sandwich, and I also took them to an office party with peanut butter and jelly spread inside. If you do fill them, put them in the fridge until ready to serve. But I will admit, my favorite is just these cookies and a big old glass of milk. Hope you like them too! -- posted by CharlieGal

This is a cookie you can feel good about giving your kids. They are very moist and fluffy and taste even better the days after being baked.
Rachel's Fantabulous Nesquik Peanut Butter Chip Brownies

I love how well Nesquik lends itself to baking! This recipe is wonderful for doubling to take to parties and potlucks. Concocted these based off my Pink Brownies recipe, except no additional cocoa powder is needed because there's already chocolate in them. Prep Notes- you can use self-rising flour if you omit the baking soda and salt; AP and cake flours need them or else it won't come out right. If you take out the butter and use all applesauce, use another 2-3 TB or else there won't be enough moisture. If using just one serving of applesauce, those little Mott's single serves are awesome. Can also sub 3 egg whites for the eggs. And of course, the peanut butter chips are what makes it special, but sub regular chocolate chips for traditional brownies. -- posted by the80srule
