Plum Torte

My friend gave me boxed of Japanese plums from her plum tree and I've been finding ways to enjoy them. This torte can be served for breakfast or dessert topped with a bit of ice-cream. The plums keep it from becoming too sweet. What I especially enjoy about this cake is that it is a perfect cake to freeze and bring out at a later date when you will appreciate a taste of summer. I haven given this cake to neighbors, friends, and family members and everyone loves it. You can also use other stone fruits if you would like. If you do not have a spring form pan, you can line a 9 inch cake pan with foil leaving an overhang over the edges of the pan. Oil the foil generously. Use the foil to "pull" the cake out of the pan when ready.
Tangy Plum Barbecue Sauce & Plum Syrup (2 in One!)

This is a perfect recipe if you're wondering what to do with all those slightly over-the-hill, bruised, juicy to bursting point plums! The best part about it is that it's a two-fer: you make one recipe and end up with two things! -- posted by Neighborhood Fruit

I made this pie from Food and Drink magazine last week to use up some prune plums I had bought. We just loved it. A friend gave me some more prune plums from her tree so I am making another one! -- posted by Irmgard

Plum Raspberry Jam

So easy and so delicious! This jam is sweet with just a hint of tartness. For Christmas I gave out pint jars with home-made mini loaves of bread to my co-workers, after Christmas break they all said it was the best jam they had ever had, a few even asked if they could buy some from me because it was already gone!!! -- posted by Rollin in the Dough!
