Spinach Salad With Sweet and Sour Dressing

One of my favorite salads. Creamy sweet-tart dressing clings easily to spinach, oranges, and red onions. I use baby spinach. You can use canned mandarin oranges, but I like the fresh oranges. Very colorful, great for a special occasion or everyday healthy treat. Everyone loves it.

Orange Pasta Salad

This is one of our all time favorite summer meals and a full recipe will usually last us two meals.
Romaine Salad With Feta, Oranges, Bacon

This is a great salad that gets rave reviews and is always finished off quickly wherever it is served. The combination of ingredients may be pretty unusual, but they work unexpectedly well together. We sometimes use fresh strawberries in place of the oranges during strawberry season and I know for sure we don't use nearly as much bacon as called for so take that into account. As with all salads, add ingredients in the amount you prefer, I'm just posting as written. This is excellent though! The feta really makes this for me! -- posted by Christineyy!

Waldorf Salad

Inspired by Ruby Tuesday's Waldorf. The recipe is identical except for the grapes, the oranges, and possibly the exact type of apple. I also imagine they use regular mayonnaise, sour cream, and sugar. I don't use measurements for this one, so I guesstimated it. I like lots of dressing on mine.
Lisa's Fruit Salad With Caramelized Pretzel Topping

This recipe is from Lisa, a wonderful girl, who is my beautician in Wisconsin. I call her girl b/c she used to be a student of mine about 30 years ago. Oh, dear how time passes by. Now she is a model parent and wife who could also be a model in a magazine. I am guessing at the amount of pretzels. But what a great way to use up leftover pretzels! This recipe does not include the chilling of the fruit salad. Break up the pretzels inside a bag. -- posted by WiGal

Antipasto - Sassani

A most unusual antipasto with navel oranges, olives, anchovies, olive oil.
For as long as I can remember my Italian family served this antipasto for holiday dinners. Even people that don't like anchovies love this dish.
It was always interesting to see the reaction of guests when this antipasto platter was passed to them. To be polite, they would take a small serving, usually one orange slice, a couple of olives and one anchovy. Many times, if the platter came around again, they would take a second larger helping. -- posted by Mike Sassani

Easy Orange Salad/Dessert

I'm prefacing this recipe with I'm pregnant and have some strange cravings these days! I really like the combination of cottage cheese and sour cream. I came up with this salad as a result of looking over oodles of recipes! Any flavor of jello will work - you may want to change the fruit to compliment the jello flavor you are using.
**Cooking time is chilling time.
Updated -- I remade this and agree with reviewer, the jello does need to be dissolved or it will be gritty. This is not a sweet salad, so if you want it sweeter, you would need to use whipped cream or add sugar. -- posted by kittycatmom

Cardamom-Flavored Fruit Salad (Salatat Al-Fawaakih)

From: "Classic Vegetarian Cooking from the Middle East & North Africa"-Arabian Gulf. This is the BEST fruit salad my husband or I have ever tried! It's easy, healthy, refreshing and WONDERFUL. You have to like cardamom to really appreciate it though. You may find yourself doubling the sauce in the future because you want to drink it up. I don't repeat very many recipes because there are too many new ones to try but this one is repeated over and over during cantaloupe season. I'm sure it would work with other fruits as well but I like this combo so much I haven't experimented. -- posted by Engrossed

Bergamot Fresh Fruit Salad With Scented Pelargonium Leaves

This fruit salad is amazing, and all the more for the addition of bergamot leaves and flowers! The fragrant leaves of this versatile herb delicately flavour the syrup whilst the gorgeous shaggy red flowers and scented pelargonium leaves decorate it for the final finishing flourish! If you are a lover of Earl Gray tea, you will instantly recognise the flavour of this herb, as it is used to flavour this famous and popular tea blend.
NOTE: Bergamot, often referred to as bee balm, became distinguished as "Oswego Tea" when a Quaker botanist, John Bartram, sampled a tea made from the leaves. A Bergamot lemon is a small yellow sour citrus fruit similar to an orange, mostly cultivated in Calabria in Italy. The rind contains an essential oil used in perfumery (the basis for eau-de-cologne), confectionary and Earl Grey tea. The zest is also used in pâtisserie. NB: Prep time includes cooling time. -- posted by French Tart

Moroccan Orange and Olive Salad

Mandarin Chicken Salad

This is a great lunch salad. Or you can leave out the chicken and serve at family dinner time as a side salad. To save yourself some time you can use frozen chicken tenders, just make sure to cook them first LOL.
Or you can use a package of Maple Leaf already cooked chicken pieces.

Avocado Clementine Breakfast Salad

I'm not an ordinary breakfast eater (by North American standards). I like savory dishes and soups and all kinds of interesting things for breakfast, but rarely enjoy sweet cereals or toast. My family thinks I'm insane, but I don't care. In any case, this particular salad appealed to me one morning so I threw it together and it turned out delicious. Prep time includes time to boil egg. While egg is boiling, cut all the rest of the ingredients and it comes together in a jiffy. This works well using Catalina/French style dressing as well. -- posted by Cookworm
