Mix in the Pan Chocolate Cake

When you don't think that you have enough time to make a homemade cake, don't even think about using a cake mix. Instead make this easy homemade chocolate cake that is mixed in the pan it is baked in. Top this moist cake with any type of frosting you want or no frosting at all. I got this recipe from Martha Stewert's Everyday Food Magazine from November 2009. -- posted by Cupcake-Princess

Chocolate-Wasabi Pudding

Instant chocolate pudding is deepened with additional cocoa powder, heated up with wasabi powder and brightened with lime zest. It will get hotter if left to stand, so if you can't eat it all, start with the lesser amount of wasabi. Be sure to use Dutch cocoa powder; natural isn't as deep in flavor.
Big Batch Dulce De Leche

I love this recipe because you can prepare several cans of dulce de leche at once and they keep for months in the cupboard ready to use at a moment's notice. Also there is no stirring while it's cooking. The first time I made it I admit I was nervous boiling unopened cans of sweetened condensed milk but it worked perfectly but BE SURE TO KEEP THE WATER LEVEL WELL ABOVE THE CANS while they are simmering for 3 hours. The water pressure from all sides of the cans keep them from blowing up and meanwhile the condensed milk inside cooks like it would in a pressure cooker and it turns into caramel. -- posted by Ronalynne

Cranberry Indulgence Pie

This pie is really different, but very delicious. The bite of the tart carnberries is mellowed by the rich egg-and-butter filling and pecan bits. I make mine in a metal, 9" pie plate. Keep an eye on the pie in the oven, as temperatures in your oven may vary. I like to bake mine for 40 minutes on the middle rack, but I am baking at high elevation (5,000 feet). You can use all white sugar in a pinch, and dried orange peel also works. -- posted by PainterCook

The World's Fastest Chocolate Sour Cream Cake!! Maybe the Best!

So so so good! So so so little work. Well, yeah, come on, you DO have to measure the ingredients. And a simple glaze would be good. But if you are really, I mean REALLY, pressed for time, place a paper doily on the cake, sift confectioner's sugar over it, lift carefully and there you have it. And this is sooo much better than a cake mix. I use an 8" square scalloped pan; that makes it look really special. Nawww, that's not cheating. It's just taking a little help where you can find it! Recipe was found somewhere on the internet April, 1998. That's how long I've been making it. -- posted by Jezski

Low-Cal Chocolate Wasabi Pudding

Adapted from recipe #409244 - reentered to get nutrition information for the low-cal version. As noted there, "Instant chocolate pudding is deepened with additional cocoa powder, heated up with wasabi powder and brightened with lime zest. It will get hotter if left to stand, so if you can't eat it all, start with the lesser amount of wasabi. Be sure to use Dutch cocoa powder; natural isn't as deep in flavor. Adapted from a recipe by Kerry Saretsky at Serious Eats." http://bit.ly/4Ij62A -- posted by DrGaellon
