Cucumber Martini !

Have you had Hendrick's gin? Not for everyone this Hendrick’s Gin, is a dainty distillation from Girvan, Ayrshire, in the Scottish Lowlands. Made and bottled there, infused with the traditional botanicals like juniper, coriander and citrus peel. The difference comes in with cucumber and rose petals. Making a wonderful iconoclastic (breaking with convention or tradition) gin. Would be a wonderful martini with rose petals floating in the glass. -- posted by ~Rita~

Jasmine Martini for Lovers

My new favorite Martini. I'm a lover of gin and Campari and the 2 of these together is seductive.
Campari's an Italian alcoholic aperitif obtained from the infusion of bitter herbs, aromatic plants and fruit in alcohol and water. Secret recipe originally developed in 1860 by Gaspare Campari in Milan. With its distinct red color, aroma and flavor, Campari is a symbol of passion.
Campari is a bitter aperitif made according to a Campari is the result of a unique blend of aromatic herbs mellowed in selected spirit. Campari has an astringent, bittersweet flavor to me it's like pink grapefruit. -- posted by ~Rita~

My DH and I went into a liquor store and 2 little bottles of Cruzan black cherry rum caught his eye! This rum is aromatic, sweet and smooth with a distinct character of fresh cherry. It's sweet, yet slightly tart.

P.s. I Love You! (Cocktail Beverage)

This recipe from the *Nightcaps* section of the Australian Women's Weekly "Cocktail Guide" cookbook would surely be a lovely way to end a romantic evening. *Enjoy* (Note: There is another version of this drink w/the same name already posted, but they are distinctly different.) *Edited to Add* on 9/19/08 -- For any who might be curious about the strength of this cocktail, I ck'd the % of alcohol in ea ingredient & found that Amaretto is 24%, Kahlua 26.5% & Bailey's 17%. As the amts of ea are equal, the % of alcohol by volume is 22.5%. :-) -- posted by twissis

Spiced Amaretto

I love Amaretto or other liqueurs for dessert. This could go either way, before or after dinner. I usually don't like the taste of most hard liquors, but the spiced rum with the amaretto was incredibly delicious! The addition of club soda makes it a nice before dinner drink, and, alternatively, the cream makes it a luscious dessert drink. (And I admit to using fat free half and half and it was great.)
Hop, Skip and Go Naked

"This is the best drink ever. It tastes just like cherry gelatin, so it's very easy to drink one too many without realizing it. This is the name given to it by my best friend's dad. He calls any made-up drink that doesn't have a name "Hop, skip and go naked". If he ever asks you if you want one, you never know what you're going to get! -- posted by Reeces Pieces

Super Sleuth's Secret Summer Wine Cooler - for Twissis!

A special drink that I made up for our wonderful cheerleader, who cheered the Cafe ZMAKK Gypsies on during ZWT4.......Twissis, this is hopefully a new wine cooler recipe for you, with a bit of a twist, TWIST eh?? Too funny! Enjoy it whilst revelling in almost 24 hours of sunlight in Iceland during the summer........maybe pop in a FRESH blueberry or two for a dramatic change! Serve this with a TWIZZLE stick and twirl the night away. (The preparation time is for the strawberries to freeze.) -- posted by French Tart

Flaming Volcano

This cocktail is usually served in a volcano bowl with long straws to be shared with a group. In the top center, high proof rum is ignited, giving the volcano a dramatic visual appeal. When the fire goes out, the clear rum in the top is ok to drink. -- posted by Sue L

Pomegranate Pear Cocktail

I made this up last night and it was terrific! The pomegranate juice gives just enough sweetness, but still allows the pear flavors to shine through. This could also be turned into a martini by using 1.5 oz of each ingredient and serving without ice. Hope you enjoy! -- posted by JanuaryBride

True Love (Cocktail)

Pomegranate Julep (Mocktail)

Another gem from the Pom Wonderful website, this is an easy and delicious non-alcoholic alternative to other juleps. Its beautiful pink color makes it perfect for Valentine's Day, breast cancer awareness celebrations, baby or bridal showers, or any fun and festive occasion. The lime juice adds a depth of flavor that nicely complements the flavor of the pomegranate. -- posted by Lynne the Pirate Queen

Pomegranate Mimosa (Mocktail)

Perfect for Valentine's Day or any special occasion, this very simple yet elegant non-alcoholic cocktail comes courtesy of the folks at Pom Wonderful. The amount of the cider is approximate -- the original recipe simply calls for "1 glass sparkling cider", which I've estimated at 6 ounces so as to better fit into a standard champagne flute. Feel free to adjust to your tastes. Using a champagne flute will allow the beauty of the drink to come through, with the dark red of the pomegranate juice filling the stem portion as the cider sparkles above. -- posted by Lynne the Pirate Queen
