Chocolate Covered Tuxedo Strawberries

Almost any wedding or anniversary that I am close to the Bride or Groom I get elected to make Tuxedo strawberries. They are a great way to really dress up a reception table. When I make these strawberries I make a lot so I use the freezer method listed below. -- posted by Girly Griller

Bacon, Lettuce, & Tomato Dip

I made this last year for a baby shower and it was a huge success. It was originally from the Pampered Chef website, but I couldn't find it there any longer. That's when I decided I should post it here so that I won't accidentally lose it. Very delicious and a hearty dip. I love the flavor that the ranch dressing gives. Enjoy! -- posted by beccalynn

Teriyaki Chicken Drumsticks (Teriyaki)

This is a family favorite and so simple. I first got the recipe from a friend who was a chef in a Japanese restaurant. When I married my husband he was using the same recipe he got from his Japanese ex-mother-in-law. It is so versatile we have used it for chicken breasts, wings, thighs, salmon, halibut, beef-kabobs - even veggies! -- posted by Alskann

Cranberry Sweet and Sour Sauce

I made this sauce over meatballs at my daughter's wedding reception. It was a hit. Nice change from your regular sweet and sour. The cranberries give it just enough tartness. This recipe makes a lot so you may want to cut it down for smaller portions.
Gildas

Gilda means lollipop, and the classic Gilda is a simple assembly of a guindilla (Spanish chile pepper), an anchovy and an olive. The combination of good-quality pinkish anchovies, smallish, crisp, unwrinkled chillies and a freshly pitted olive produce a sophisticaded mélange. -- posted by Jordi Valles

Yummy Meatballs

I got this recipe from my favorite Betty Crocker cookbook, but it never really the same when I make them, I always add whatever herbs & spice hit me at the time of prep. They were originally served with spaghetti, but I started making them for parties and just putting them in a crockpot to keep warm, pouring "spaghetti" sauce over them. (They are also great for meatball subs... just add provalone) -- posted by WillowCloud

Linda's Mexican Veggie Pizza

I always make these for pot lucks, or when I need an appetizer for a special occasion... They are a BIG HIT, and I always make them for the holidays to munch on before dinner! You can also omit the taco seasoning mix and salsa and use 1 pkg. Seven Seas Ranch Dip mixed in with the cream cheese instead, to make just a regular Veggie Pizza.
Blue Stilton Savouries

Another one from Delia Smith. Perfect for a cocktail party. I would think any blue cheese could be substituted for the Stilton, but it's better to have the real thing. I must add my two cents and say that true English Stilton is much creamier and more flavorful than what you get in the states, although stateside Stilton will get the job done. These can be served hot or warm, or they can be made in advance and briefly reheated before serving. They can also be frozen.
Grilled Mahi Mahi Taco, Red Cabbage Slaw, Tomato Avocado Salsa,

Grilled Mahi Mahi Tacos With Red Cabbage Slaw, Tomato And Avocado Salsa And Pineapple Hot Sauce is the whole name for this lovely recipe. Created by Bobby Flay for a wedding on FoodNetwork, and it was a big hit with all the guests at the wedding. I wanted to share this lovely recipe with you all. It took me about 3 hrs. to make this dish, but it is well worth it! Be careful when making the Charred Pineapple-Habanero Hot Sauce using the the habanero chiles, as it is HOT with 2! I would suggest only 1 if you don't like real hot and spicy. -- posted by FoodieFanatic

Vegetable Party Sandwiches

This is my sister's recipe which she makes for parties and holiday events. The sandwiches are always a popular food item! In Spring of 2007, this recipe was featured in two North Carolina newspapers by the famous Food Editor, Helen Moore. Plan ahead because the vegetable mixture needs to be refrigerated 25 hours for the flavors to blend well. The recipe yields 112 party-size, quartered sandwiches. Preparation time, not refrigeration time, is stated. -- posted by Seasoned Cook

Cocktail Meatballs

Tired of paying for frozen meatballs to throw into a crockpot for a get together? So was I when I got to the grocery store and the cheap frozen meatballs were sold out...The only ones left were almost $10.00 a bag for about 40 meatballs! I thought to myself " I could make these.."....So here is my recipe which yields about 106 meatballs for much less and a much better taste. The sauce I use is the standard grape jelly/ chile sauce recipe. I think it is a perfect compliment. These are a great 'make ahead' item as they freeze well and you can make as many as you need for the holidays... Enjoy!

We served this about half a year ago and forgot to post it! I think this is from a Martha Stewart Cookbook and they are delicious and easy to prepare! We put them on a platter with the Cuban pastelitos and empanadas and they are gone in no time flat; we serve them once a month when they have a birthday party for everyone who celebrates in that particular month - so that's twelve parties there and they are fantastic! -- posted by Manami

Fruit Salsa With Cinnamon Chips

Crostini With Warm Goat Cheese and Balsamic Figs

These are very easy to make and are absolutely delicious. The ingredients are estimates since it really depends on how large your crostini are. Feel free to make your own crostini by cutting french bread into thin slices and toasting them in the oven. Prep time does not include the soak time for the figs. Another option for serving, is to take the soaked figs and blend in a mini food processor, then spread on the goat cheese before baking. -- posted by C.
Smoked Salmon Mini-Cheesecakes

Creamy two-bite canapes in a flaky crust, perfect to make ahead in volume and freeze for large parties. I had tried several savory appetizer cheesecakes, to be made in a large spring-form pan and served as spreads on crackers, but found the leftovers messy to deal with the day after parties. As with the large ones, don't over-bake---you want that little creaminess in the center. I use a muffin tin that makes 24 at a time. This recipe makes three batches---total of 72 individual appetizers (6 dozen).. . -- posted by La Dilettante

Chilled Summer Lettuce, Lovage and Garden Pea Soup

A delightful and refreshing chilled soup for summer - this savoury soup takes its flavour from freshly chopped lovage leaves, which impart a savoury, lemony and celery-like taste. I like to serve this pale green soup in clear glass bowls for maximum impact, with a few chopped leaves sprinkled on top and a swirl of cream. This soup makes an elegant starter for any summer event or a light luncheon dish. Do not be tempted to add more lovage then is suggested, it is a very strong flavoured herb and can be overpowering if used with a heavy hand! -- posted by French Tart

This is a recipe that I found in Paula Deen's special magazine publication May/June 2009. It is the party issue. This recipe was inhaled by guests and family at our house. It is definitely time consuming so plan on it taking more time than you think but it is worth it. It is definitely a keeper flavor wise as the caramelized onions bring out the ham and cheeses. The honey mustard mayo is a great undercurrent. Great for parties and gatherings like baby showers, showers, brunches, etc. Enjoy!
