			<description>Use quinoa, a high-protein and high-iron seed, as the basis for the healthiest sourdough pancake you will ever meet.  The secret to the smooth and bright texture is sprouting the quinoa ahead of time, and using a high-powered high-speed blender like my Vitamix.

The taste is similar to english muffins or mild injera (Ethiopian flatbread). The texture is amazingly light, almost frothy, but still chewy, holding its shape with no problem.

As a general purpose gluten-free batter, this sour quinoa batter is surprisingly versatile and easy to work with. It is from Donna Hay's 'Tastes of Autumn' magazine but to me this sounds like an anytime of year breakfast idea!  My only additions were garlic, rosemary and sage, simply because I enjoy all of these in many savoury dishes, but I've listed them as optional.  Feel free to add your favourite herbs.  So that the omelet retains its lightness, I'd be disinclined to add anything else to it, but I'll certainly be making this with some mushrooms.  YUM!  OOPS!  Chocolatl observed - quite rightly - that I'd omitted the butter from the Ingredients list. 			<description>These aren't really biscuits, but they do make a nice low point breakfast treat.  If you are expecting a traditional baking powder biscuit, this is the the recipe you want.  The oatmeal gives the biscuits a nuttier flavor and they end up tasting more like a blueberry muffin than a biscuit.  The batter is rather runny, so I recommend you use a cookie scoop when putting them on the baking sheet.  I was given this recipe by a friend in WWs. 			<description>I bought a 20lb bag of bananas at Krogers for $1.00 and have been trying to use them all up. This is one of the recipes I made in the process. It was by far the most scrumptious recipe that I made. It could also be made into a bread, but I made muffins. This is definitely my new default banana bread recipe! Imade a double batch and ended up with 39 muffins. I made half with the called for maple syrup/pecan topping and half with a cream cheese topping. To make the cream cheese topping, I whipped 6oz cream cheese with 1/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup maple syrup. The trick to making this granola is adding a ton of cinnamon (even more than the 1 teaspoon I have in the recipe below), which accentuates the sweetness of the dried fruits.

Eggs are a concentrated source of muscle-building amino acids and other body-building nutrients. They're also rich in vitamin K, which helps to heal bruises and other minor sports injuries. This vitamin works by ensuring that blood is able to clot normally, so it could also reduce the danger of blood clots in arteries.&amp;quot;
The original recipe called for groundnut oil, but I think butter would work just fine - or any other oil you have on hand.
This would make a nice breakfast for an extremely hungry person, or could be shared among a few people. If you're just making it for yourself, you might want to halve it.

			<description>My friends and family are always getting on me to publish my recipes; I don't really use them, nor do I regularly remember even what I put into my dishes. I took this dish to a vegan potluck last night, and it disappeared in seconds. This morning I was awoken at gun point (exaggerated for dramatic effect) to post this recipe.... So, I thought it wise of me to comply. This recipe takes me about an hour of prep time, and about an hour to cook. There are shortcuts one may take to cut down on the prep time, but the first time, I suggest leaving ample time to prepare. I have used a variety of nuts for this recipe, all working out well (this last time I ran out of sesame seeds, so I used 2 tbsp of my tamari roasted pumpkin seeds, and 1 tbsp of raw pecans). I also like to make my dishes gluten free for potlucks, so I used &amp;frac12; cup of blue corn meal, and &amp;frac12; garbanzo flour in place of the whole wheat pastry flour, the taste was amazing, but a little more crumbly then whole wheat pastry flower. 			<description>Oh my gosh these are AWESOME!  This can of pineapple on the counter was calling to me, and my husband can't eat wheat, so if I make pancakes they're gonna have oats in them.  Plus, the Tahitian Pancakes came up on Heroes in the past week or so, so that's on my mind.
I combined two different recipes that I found online, one for pineapple pancakes and one for oatmeal pancakes.  Neither one is like this new version though.  SO AWESOME!  
One last thing, I used coconut milk instead of cow milk, since my husband is also on this non-dairy kick.

While I could slice and freeze half, I prefer to use it for bread pudding, stuffing, meatloaf, etc.  This is an excellent use for bread that is too hard and stale to eat.  I would not make it from fresh squishy bread, as I think it would probably dissolve in the egg custard.  The original recipe, Debbie Tate's &amp;quot;Make Ahead French Toast&amp;quot; at allrecipes, suggests 8 slices of French bread.  I would assume that sourdough, old hard sandwich rolls, etc. would also work beautifully.  This morning I used the last quarter loaf of bread made from Bob's Red Mill GF Homemade Wonderful Bread Mix.  I would be happy to serve this for company, or Christmas morning. 			<description>GF flours are so expensive (especially in Panama), so I'm trying to get a good corn based pancake. I've been tinkering with this recipe, and I'm posting it here for safe keeping. It's a work in progress. Here in Panama they have what they call crema de maiz or cream of corn. It is a very fine ground corn flour. 			<description>This recipe was designed in answer to a request from my son for crocodile muffins. The pear skins are the crocodile skin, the peaches are the eyeballs and the butterscotch chips are the teeth. My version is wheat, egg, and (almost) dairy free, but feel free to switch it up and use eggs and milk if you prefer. I haven't found dairy free butterscotch chips, so you could leave them out of the recipe if you needed to.
