Buttermilk Pepper Dressing

I love this dressing! I am the queen of cheapskates so I've been making my own. My mom gave me a cookbook that had this in it and I eat it all the time. I used a little under a cup of milk and mix 1 Tbsp melted butter in with it when I don't feel like going to get the buttermilk. Hope you enjoy! -- posted by pesce_gurl

Dee's Potato Salad Dressing

This came from a friend of mine who lived in TN who passed away about 5 years ago. Her Grandmother always made this and it is an excellant dressing. It is a tad sweet so you can cut back on the sugar if you like but I find it even better after it has sat over night so the potatoes have a chance to soak up the flavors! I also add cut up hard boiled eggs to my potato salad. To be honest I have no idea how much it makes and how many servings. I make this when I am having company and I boil about 5 lbs of potatoes and it cover that amount. -- posted by Mnheartbreaker

Honey Mustard Dressing II

I made this sauce to try to duplicate the chicken sandwich from Chili's or Outback...with chicken, swiss cheese, bacon, and honey mustard dressing. It was excellent..we doubled the recipe so we would have leftover for dipping.

"It's amazing how only four ingredients can taste so sensational - honey, mayonnaise, lemon juice and mustard. Whip it up just before serving, and try it with chicken salad." by: Mary Ann Benzon It is better than Denny's. -- posted by Chef 695933 GRPA!

Taco Salad Dressing - Fast and Easy

Can't get any faster or simpler. It's too tasty to be this easy, but sometimes simple is best. We like this on meatless taco salads on hot summer nights. If the salad has taco meat, we usually skip the chili powder. The ratio of ranch to catalina dressings can be varied to taste. Try it...you'll like it. -- posted by MTDavids

Mediterranean Dressing

This is simple to make. Whisk it in a bowl, slowly adding the Extra Virgin Olive Oil and it be nice and thick and creamy. You may add herbs to it and drizzle it on anything from salads to being a bread dip to black bean salad to salmon, etc. It is good with Feta Cheese sprinkled on a salad with Greek olives. It is good drizzled on many vegetables and balsamic vinegar may be added, too. -- posted by Mimi in Maine

Creamy Salsa Dip And/Or Taco Salad Dressing

I'm posting this for everyone who has asked me for this recipe. Everytime I make taco salad I also make this dressing. And this is our favorite dip for tortilla chips. If you use hot jarred or homemade salsa add more sour cream to taste. This dip is also a great base for other Tex-Mex flavors...add shredded cheddar, sliced olives, sliced jalapenos, chopped cilantro and a squeeze of lime.
Sweet Salad Dressing

This is a quick & easy dressing that I did my best to search for but couldn't find already posted. The original recipe came from a potluck and was on a salad of lettuce, bell pepper, mandarin oranges and sliced almonds. I really like it with a simple salad of lettuce and feta cheese. I had to guess at servings - it makes quite a bit and a little goes a long way.
"garlic and Olive Oil Paste"

This makes a strong and versatile garlic-olive oil paste that will keep indefinitely in the refrigerator. Use it for salad dressings, spread on crusty bread, tossing with pasta, rubbing on chicken before roasting, etc......

A tip on taking skins off of garlic cloves...Smash cloves with back of knife. The will peel much easier.

Phyllis's Blue Cheese Dressing

Creamy blue cheese and garlic dressing. I got this recipe from my future mother-inlaw. This makes a thick dressing so if you want a thinner dressing thin it out with sour cream and mayonnaise. When I made this dressing I used 8oz each sour cream and mayonnaise, 4oz Rondele cheese, 4oz Salemville Amish blue cheese. -- posted by internetnut

Gluten Free Asian Salad Dressing

This Asian Dressing is a family favorite. Now that our garden is in full gear we are having home grown salads at least once a day. In order to keep things interesting, I've come up with a variety of salad dressings and this one has stuck. I kid you not when I say that the boys fight over the last drops.

Salsa Ranch Dressing

A little recipe I came up with for a Mexican inspired dinner. I love it also on Taco salad. For a side salad we like it with lettuce, chucky cucumbers, pepper pieces, green onion, avocado and topped with crushed tortilla chips. I usually use Chi Chi's brand Fiesta Salsa in Medium and Hidden Valley Ranch, but feel free to use whatever is in your fridge, I like to mix it up ahead of time for the flavors to fully blend more. -- posted by Michelle S.

Sesame-Soy Dressing for One

I had some soy ginger dressing but I had forgotten that I'd used it up and my chicken garden salad really cried out for it. I whipped this up and really like it. No ginger though.

Note: I made this low calorie but one may find this dressing does not stick to the salad well. If calories aren't a problem for you, replace the water with a mild oil such as canola and add water if needed after tasting. -- posted by Chef Tweaker

Quick and Easy Garlic Aioli

I was taught to make this Aioli in Spanish cooking classes, it is basically a fast way to make an real (or almost real) Aioli without resorting to using pre made mayonnaise. It tastes great and takes under 5 minutes to prepare.

You will need a thin tall measuring cup or jug and a hand held (vertical or stab) blender.

If you don't like garlic, you can make without.

You can add things like herbs (fresh or dried), black pepper, smoked paprika or other things you like.

Experiment with the amount of oil and lemon juice.

If you want it to be more rich add two eggs yokes instead of one whole egg. -- posted by Claytox
