Tropical Icy Poles (Popsicles or Ice Lollies)

Simple to make - substitute juice to suit whatever fruit juice is available. The combination listed below tastes just like Frosty Fruits. If you don't have icy pole/popsicle moulds, freeze in a shallow metal dish then break up with a fork and serve as a granita. NOTE: Cooking time includes freezing time, and will vary. -- posted by Nikkei

Vanilla Ice Cream - Creamy & Delicious

I make this recipe in my Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker (ICE-20) and it comes out so creamy and delicious - better then Hagen Daz! The secret is the custard that you make prior to adding it to the ice cream maker. How good is this ice cream? My DS decided to do a science project called Taste vs. perception. We were going to give out samples of vanilla ice cream and vanilla ice cream with red food coloring in it so it looked like strawberry ice cream, then ask people which flavor they liked better. We set up our ice cream stand outside of a movie theatre and had over a hundred people sample both ice creams (we served them in little sample cups with tiny spoons). People were telling us that it was the best vanilla or strawberry ice cream that they ever tasted. People were begging me for the recipe. One woman ate so many samples that we had to close down until she left. Word got out and people were actually coming out of the theater to sample our ice cream (staff too). Over a hundred people can't be wrong - this is great ice cream! Oh yes, the results: Only about 14% of the people figured out it was the same flavor and most of them were teenagers. The others couldn't tell and even though they thought both tasted really good, they liked the flavor of one over the other. And yes, my son got an A on his project! -- posted by LexiGirl 2

Kittencal's Reese's Peanut Butter-Chocolate Ice Cream Dessert

I use my recipe#237573 you may of coarse use store bought --- vanilla ice cream may be used in place of the chocolate ice cream, frozen yogurt also will work well, a prepared chocolate crumb crust or graham crust will work well fine--- although I have left as optional to take this yet to another level mix in chopped frozen peanut butter cups, they must be frozen when mixed in or they will crush when mixing, chop them first then freeze, and don't be afraid to add in a little more than 1/2 cup peanut butter :) -- posted by KITTENCAL

A very easy and delicious recipe for No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake. I originally found it on this site, however made a couple minor changes, and have since shared it too many times to count. Very easily made into single sevings and can be frozen for later serving. Also a good idea for "Portion Control". The first time I made this, my husband ate the whole pan. YES! THE WHOLE PAN! Enjoy!! -- posted by Chef #932139

Marble Ice-Cream Cones

This is a recipe I haven't tried yet. (In an effort to save room & get my larce collection of recipes under control I'm posting them here.)

This sounds like a great treat for the summer time and easy to serve in their own individual cones!

Note: The "cooking" time is actually the freezer time. And the prep time I estimated to include the 15 minute standing time prior to serving. -- posted by Faeanne

I used navel oranges for mine - please note that if you use another type/size of orange, you may have to change the quantity of syrup/juice accordingly.
From Taste of Home site, this was a huge hit when I served it to friends. Everyone loved it, but someone suggested it would be "over the moon" with a little chocolate. So next time, I'll probably replace one of the sorbet layers with chocolate ice cream or sorbet. Either way, it's easy and delicous as it stands. As written, it's 5 WW pts per serving.

Quick Peach Sherbet

From the San Francisco Chronicle, posted for safe-keeping.

This can be made without an ice cream maker, and can be served right away. If you plan to make the sherbet ahead or have leftovers to freeze, the vodka helps keep it scoop-able when fully frozen.

Use fresh peaches when available. To freeze, cut peaches into chunks and freeze in a single layer on a cookie sheet. Preparation time does not include freezing time. -- posted by RDcook444

Fresh Peach Ice Cream

Both the cooked peaches and the custard mixture must be cooled to 40º before you churn them. Since they are fine in the refrigerator overnight, you may want to prepare them the day before you plan to churn and serve the ice cream. You'll get the very best results from using in-season, fully ripened peaches, but in a pinch, you can substitute 2 cups IQF (Individually quick frozen) sliced peaches and replace the vodka with peach-flavored liqueur. The ice cream is at it's peak when eaten within 4 hours of churning, although covered, it will keep in the freezer for up to two days. Adapted from the America's Test Kitchens. Prep time includes chill time. Cook time includes 2 hours of freezer time after churning. -- posted by TxGriffLover

Lime Basil Sorbet

From Cooking Light Magazine's July 2009 edition: "A traditional salt and ice electric freezer works best for this sorbet, as opposed to a tabletop freezer, which won't freeze the mixture firmly enough. Use sweet Italian or lemon basil." I thought this sounded interesting and wanted to share. Please note preparation time includes time required to chill mixture before placing in ice-cream freezer as well as time required to freeze until firm in your fridge's freezer. -- posted by MarthaStewartWanabe

Lemon Verbena Ice Cream from a French Country Herb Garden

I grow many old fashioned and unusual herbs in my garden in France, and although many people know Lemon Balm, Lemon Verbena is not so well known, which is such a shame! For me the flavour is MUCH more lemony and intense than Lemon Balm - think lemon sherbet, and you have a good idea of what to expect! The plant has graceful pointed leaves that are a gorgeous pale green in colour. Just scrunching a leaf in your hand to release the aromas can help fatigue or a headache. This is an ice cream I came up with to refresh and revive even the most jaded of palates – refreshing and with an amazing lemony zing! You should be able to source Lemon Verbena at any good Farmer's Markets - alternatively, make friends with someone who grows it! (Prep time includes the time to infuse the leaves to extract the flavour.) -- posted by French Tart

Old-Fashioned English Summer Berry Jelly and Ice Cream!

Little wibbly-wobbly ruby red jellies with mixed summer berries, so cooling and great with ice cream. There is nothing I love more than taking a basket to the end of my garden to pick an assortment of ripe summer berries when they are in season! The sense of satisfaction at picking your own fruit is wonderful. Although I have called these little jellies “English” summer berry jellies, I DO make these in France of course - it's just that the berries remind me of my grandparent's gardens and picking the fruit when I was little…………...plus, the combination of berries is the same as a traditional English Summer Pudding recipe! I make these in little vintage metal moulds, they look so pretty served this way; you can of course make this recipe in a large mould, but DO allow extra time for the jelly to set. -- posted by French Tart

A mixture of a few different recipes that we love using an ice cream maker! You can make the dough chunks as big or little as you want. Try it and see for yourself! You can substitute half and half for the whipping cream and any % fat milk.
Italian Granita Lemon Ice Cream

Many people think that Lemon Granita is similar to a Lemon sorbet.
There is a main difference which is the fact that Lemon Granita has no eggs, no milk and no cream in it. Just lemon juice, lemon zest, water and sugar!
In Southern Italy we have a granita for breakfast, aperitif, lunch and as an after siesta drink.
The best lemon Granita is made with little sugar and a grated lemon zest in it!
For breakfast we would have a Coffee Granita with a croissant (the Sicilian way); for aperitif the Lemon Granita; after the siesta the almond granita.
There are many flavors you can choose: lemon, mint, coffee, strawberry, almond, kiwi, mandarin, prickly pears. -- posted by stile mediterraneo

Homemade Soy Vanilla Ice Cream

Need a healthier alternative to regular ice cream that is easy to make? My family (including the meat and dairy lovers) loved this ice cream, and no one would have known that it didn't have milk or eggs!

You can top it however you want, and experiment with the ingredients (we've made blackberry ice cream, strawberry ice cream, healthy chocolate chip cookie dough ice cream, healthy or "fake" butterfinger ice cream), etc.! You can make blizzards (aka Frosty or shake) by briefly blending it a bit in a blender.
