Pumpkin Fluff Dip

This is a Midwestern classic apparently-- a school chum from Iowa told me about this recipe that's popular around fall and early winter, from having leftover cans of pumpkin from stocking up on sale but not wanting to make any more pumpkin pies-- they're popular for high teas, luncheon spreads, Superbowl parties, Thanksgiving and Christmas, or sitting on your can watching The Golden Girls. :D Since I didn't want to use actual marshmallow Fluff...this is my fluffy adaptation of this recipe that came out HEAVENLY. I could eat a drum of this stuff and not get bored of it! One 15 or 16 oz can of pumpkin works, or you can measure out 2 cups from a 28-oz can. You can also use 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice for the spicing but it tends to be overpowering, the subtler cinnamon and nutmeg is better. -- posted by the80srule

Rockin' Hummus

I've tried a lot of hummus recipes but this is the first one that came close to Sabra - my favorite brand. I adapted this recipe from one I found online at a blog by Jonah Lisa. She states that it is the order in which the ingredients are combined that makes the hummus so creamy in the end. I don't know how true that is but I follow her method and always end up with great stuff that rivals my favorite brand. I use my blender but I'm sure a food processor would work great too.
This yummy recipe comes from my friend Elaine. She brought it to a party and after only one bite everyone was asking for the recipe. It is very good with your favorite crackers but is even better w/ sliced fresh bread. I think it would even be good over steamed broccoli as well. The next time I make it I plan to bake some in bite sized pastry shells and see how that turns out. -- posted by Joanna570

V's Soft Turkey Taquitos With Southwestern Dip

Every year my dad would make these taquitos with leftover turkey. The corn tortillas are lightly fried in oil, rolled with turkey and sealed on a griddle and come out soft with a nice crunch with the turkey still moist and delicious. These are awesome because they are not deep fried or baked. I took over the tradition and have been making these for years. My family won't eat any leftover turkey in any other form except these soft taquitos. We look forward to these as an appetizer or a meal served with my own Southwestern Dip, Cheese Sauce, Salsa and my Chunky Guacomole the day after thanksgiving. -- posted by Vseward (Chef~V)

Momma's Hot Cheese Dip

This is a recipe our Dear Late Mother used to make often for family gatherings and is an all time favorite of everyone in the family. We serve this in a crock pot on warm since it is best served hot, but can be served in a Sourdough bowl. Mom always cubed sourdough french bread to serve this with, and it usually took more than one loaf to satisfy the many who would have it. You may find as we have that for large family gatherings we had to double this recipe. *** Note*** although this recipe calls for Velvetta Cheese, you can substitute any good quality American Processed Cheese. -- posted by jacques lee

Momma's Hot Cheese Dip

This is a recipe our Dear Late Mother used to make often for Family Gatherings, and because we were a large family it was often doubled. She would make this up and transfer it to a CrockPot to keep warm, as it was always best served hot. She would cube 2 loaves of Sourdough French Bread to accompany this for the dipping. Although this recipe calls for Velvetta cheese, Mom has a note that states you can use any other High Quality American Processed Cheese for extra zip. We have also found that instead of one only can of Ortega Diced Green Chili's some of us use two cans. Try this anyway you like, and for a party try serving it in a Sourdough Bowl which makes a pretty presentation, but will not stay hot. -- posted by jacques lee

I use fresh or frozen corn, but canned corn can be used also. You would just add 1 (15) oz. can of whole kernal corn.
Don's Queso Dip

My dad started this recipe in our family. I grew up making it with my dad and after his death I have continued to make it. I have tweaked it to suit my family. Great to make for the Superbowl or a casual get together. All the spices are to taste. The measurements below are estimates, I rarely measure. Feel free to cut back on the Jalepeno if you don't like your food spicy. Also, instead of just plain ground beef, I have made it using left-over chili, just cut back on the spices then.Use more or less Milk to make cheese as thin/thick as you like, keep in mind the salsa will thin it out. You can use Pepper jack Velveeta if you cannot find the Mexican style. Also, leftover chili or 1/2 lb ground beef and 1/2 lb Chorizo instead of ground beef has had awesome results in my household, just cut back on seasonings. My mother likes to put this into a Crockpot to cook while she makes dinner. -- posted by Bekahbv

Secret Ingredient Spinach Artichoke Dip

This dip is always a big hit at parties!! I've been told by many that it's the best spinach artichoke dip that they have tasted.
Buffalo Chicken Wing Dip

a great way to enjoy chicken wings without the mess. great served with celery or tortilla chips for dipping. I like to use a crock pot to keep this dip warm during parties, just mix everything up on the stove than transfer to the crock pot or you can use a electric fondue pot on warm too. If you don't want to use those then separate into small batches in oven safe dishes so you can keep the dip warm. Not sure where the recipe came from, everyone I know has their own spin for it. -- posted by Chef ChristinaMac
