Lentil Soup- Cfg-Cheap, Filling and Good for You!

Can be made from your pantry, no running out into the cold winter to make dinner.
Comes together fast- I make this year round but it is extra good in the cold NY winter
Perfect meatless but any meat could be added, left over ham, bacon, sausage.
If I am making this for lunch, I fry bacon in the pot, remove the bacon for a sandwhich and leave fat in the pot tosauté the veggies. -- posted by Chef #801828

Drink this before breakfast. Tastes great, is incredibly healthy, and you don't need a juicer. TIP: I prepare some ahead of time and freeze 1 cup in silicone muffin pans. I take it out the night before, let it thaw overnight in the fridge, and I have a constant supply. -- posted by Génial Génie

Victorian Watercress Tea Sandwiches for High Tea and Picnics

During Victorian times, children used to take watercress sandwiches to school in place of meat ones. I love them, especially when cut into small trianges and served with a cuppa (cup of tea!). Use the freshest bread - I like to use wholemeal, and a fresh salted farmhouse butter. I have inlcluded a soup idea at the end of the recipe, to be made with the excess stalks! So a soup and sandwich recipe then! -- posted by French Tart

Weight Watchers Creamy Mexican Dip

I got this dip from the WW site...it is absolutely delicious and just ONE POINT per serving! I serve it with baked Tostitos chips for a guilt-free treat, but no one would ever guess it's low fat if you served it to guests. Keep in mind, the creamy ingredients cool down the salsa, so a hot salsa will yield a nice medium dip. Great way to get your mexican dip fix.
A different and colorful salad dressing, not too oil-heavy. And it's vegan! I can get sunflower oil cheaply from a Mexican grocer nearby but if you can't find it, canola oil or salad oil will work in a pinch. I prefer to use frozen blueberries because I think the consistency's better plus I don't have to sift through them for moldy/rotten berries (and cost and storage reasons) but I'm sure fresh blueberries would work great too. -- posted by the80srule

Emily's Easy Cheesy Vegetable Soup

My friend, Emily, shared this recipe with me at my bridal shower. Its a quick, easy, tasty meal for cold winter days. I like preparing it in a crock-pot instead of on the stove to avoid burning the cheese. Emily also told me that while any mixed veggies will do, Veg-All is her favorite and I agree! I use low sodium cream of chicken soup, since left-overs tend to get salty in the fridge over time. -- posted by Chef #1067801

Instead of getting one of those packets loaded with MSG and ingredients I can't pronounce, I looked at the side of the box and the actual spices used were listed.
