			<description>This is a classic dish, with wonderful flavor. If you don't have the whole spices, you can easily substitute ground/dried  - 1 Tbsp whole = 1 tsp ground/dried. Lovely served over rice (we always use basmati) and served with flat bread. I like to measure everything and cut up the chicken before I get started. Even better - it's a 1 pot meal!

			<description>Ready to shake up the Thanksgiving standards?  This is a great way to do it: posted in Barbara Fisher's blog, Tigers and Strawberries (http://www.tigersandstrawberries.com/).  The flavors of this soup are amazingit is somewhere between the tangy-spicy herbal flavor of Tom Kha Gai and the best butternut squash or sweet potato soup you have ever had with a little Thai curry mixed in for fun. It is spicy, sweet, tangy and rich all at the same time without being heavy or overly filling.  And it's vegan. How can it be velvety smooth without much in the way of rich coconut milk and absolutely no cream?
It was the addition of the potato that does it. This is a trick she learned when she was cooking for vegan clients as a personal chef. 			<title>Eggplant Curry &amp;quot;no-Fry&amp;quot; Sri Lankan Style Using Coconut</title>

			<description>Another recipe courtesy of the great Madhur Jaffrey.  I'm often looking for new eggplant dishes, and can't believe I haven't tried this particular recipe until today, it's really very easy.  From what I've read, traditionally in this dish the eggplant would be fried - in this version it is broiled which obviously cuts down on the calories quite substantially.  I also used light coconut milk.  I only had one eggplant on hand today and it turned out great, a nice side-dish or main for 2.  I can imagine that by using two regular eggplants you would be able to serve at least 3, if not 4, as a main.  Next time you run across good looking eggplants in the store, pick a few out and give this a try! I love five spice and chicken wings but unfortunately the only one in the family to like wings so will probably make with drumsticks and thighs and allow a longer cooking time.  When removing tips from wings, bag and freeze and when you have enough they are great to make stock with.  The recipe can be doubled and taken up to the end of step 1, bag and freeze (for up to 3 months), defrost in refrigerate overnight and continue from step 2. 			<description>This is a recipe for a basic napa cabbage kimchi.  I have been making different kinds of kimchi for the past several years.  It has taken several batches to find the right combination that my family likes.  While it is much easier to just buy it from the korean market, there is nothing like homemade kimchi that is made with love and care.  This is a rough recipe.  Making kimchi is a method, not a strict recipe.  Also, please note that it is important to find the best ingredients you can find.  Mediocre ingredients lead to mediocre results. I find that the overnight salting is less wasteful and keeps the kimchi crunchier longer. This will vary tremendously depending on the curry paste you are using. Taste it first. If it's super-hot, you'll need to reduce the amount unless you want a hot curry. If this is the case, you may need to add in come more flavouring. I've tried successfully with a tin of red thai curry soup if you're going for the easy approach, otherwise add grated ginger, cumin, coriander and a splash of fish sauce and rice wine vinegar.
Of course, there's plenty of more complicated recipes out there, and this one's supposed to be easy, so try to go for a curry paste that's tasty but mild. 			<description>The difference between California Rolls and Maki-zushi is the way it's rolled.  The California Roll has the sushi rice on the outside with the nori on the inside.   A Maki roll has the sushi rice on the inside with the nori on the outside.  For directions on making the sushi rice see Recipe #383636.   This is a combination of recipes found on Food Network.  Special equipment need is 2 bamboo sushi rolling mat plus a bowl of water with ice.

SUSHI ETIQUETTE:
Sushi is meant to be finger food, quick and tasty. It is preferable to eat sushi with ones hands rather than with chopsticks, but both ways are acceptable in America.

Eat the whole sushi roll at once. It is not appropriate to eat part of a piece of sushi and place the other piece back on a plate. Once you have picked something up you should eat all of it. 

Do not dip the California rolls into the Soy sauce  as the rice portion of the sushi will become too moist and can cause sushi to fall apart. Maki rolls can be dipped into the Soy because the seaweed (Nori) is on the ouside and will hold it together. Besides potatoes &amp;amp; peas, okra/ladyfinger is another all time favorite vegetable among the Pakistani population. It is usually served with roti/chapatti &amp;amp; yogurt or sometimes with Masoor Dal (lentil) here is the recipe of a basic okra curry that was passed down from my grandmother to my mom &amp;amp; down to me. Its the tomatoes that give it a different taste compared to the other recipes posted so far. 

Note if you want to make &amp;quot;Bhindi Gosht&amp;quot; (Okra curry with mutton) after frying the onions add mutton, let it cook on medium low heat for 20 minutes, then follow the rest of the recipe.
