Malted Vanilla Milk Shakes

I love chocolate malted milk, Whoppers (malted milk balls) -- well, anything with malt in it, so I was glad to come by this recipe. Using vanilla bean seeds really adds an extra- delicious vanilla taste. Note: Use either whole milk or 2% in this recipe, as 1% or skim milk will give the shake a thin consistency. The 30 minutes needed for chilling the glasses is not included in the time below. -- posted by TasteTester

Mango-Coconut Batido (Milkshake)

Tropical fruits such as mangoes, papayas, bananas, guavas, and coconuts are combined with milk, ice and sometimes sugar to create a Cuban milkshake called a *batido*. This Key West shake is a cultural hybrid, however, because it also contains vanilla ice cream. -- posted by FloridaNative

Sandshaker Bushwacker

The Sandshaker was a legend on Pensacola Beach, and it's signature drink started a festival there on the island. The government closed the bar and auctioned it off, but the drink remains a legend, and the festival lives on...complete with live music from vintage bands.
Pb&b Shake

I was in a bit of a pickle. I was getting bored of my usual breakfast so I wanted something new, yet good to taste and for my health. So, I came up with the brilliant idea of taking an old shake recipe and giving it a little pizazz! Although I only make it for breakfast, I guess it could be used for a nice snack or as a dessert drink. However you decide to indulge in it, I hope you enjoy this wonderful mix just as much as I do.

*NOTE* In the "Preparation Time" section, I put 1 Day, this is because of the freezing of the banana. -- posted by Nick R.

Root Beer Float

This is a great recipe to make for celebrating the end of school and the start of summer vacation!! This drink tends to overflow, which is part of the fun. If you want to avoid that use larger glasses and don't fill to the top to prevent this from happening.
Mocca Protein Shake

Creamy coffee goodness :-) Feel free to substitute milk with soy milk and ricotta with silken tofu.
The whey protein I use is microfiltrated neutral whey protein, which doesn't contain lactose and makes shakes wonderfully fluffy. But of course you can use every kind of protein powder you like.
As a sweetener I use brown rice syrup but will suggest honey. Use whatever sweetener you like best in what amount you desire. -- posted by Mia in Germany

Steve's Chocolate Protein Shake

I came up with this recipe to improve the taste and the consistency of the whey protein that I use. I use Optimum Nutrition Double Chocolate 100% Whey. Brand is important. Taste and cost vary greatly between brands!
I setup a dozen or so small plastic containers that contain the dry ingredients ahead of time so I don't have to measure out the individual ingredients every day. -- posted by smajc

Peachy Fruit and Yogurt Shake

I adapted this from Better Homes & Gardens Diabetic cookbook. I have changed a few things. They say in the testing kitchen, they discovered if they added a little vanilla extract to the shake, they didn't need a sweetner. Feel free to add a little honey or sweetner if you feel it needs it. If you partially freeze the banana and yogurt, you can leave out the ice. -- posted by Sharon123
