Honey-Lemon Jelly

Posted by BenzBaker

I also used bottled lemon juice, and a box of powdered pectin. Everybody really liked it. I drizzled some into my tea this afternoon and it was really yummy! I made 2 batches, and got 6-4oz jars, and 2 pints. Very easy, will be making this again. — karky Oct 18, 2009

Misery Stuffed Pork Roast

Made this today with a boneless pork loin, and used pear jam. I was thinking next time of using chunky applesauce. We like it quite a lot. — karky Oct 11, 2009

Banana Nut Bread Jam

Posted by blakee741

This makes really good jam. I used pecans instead of walnuts. It was really thick and I was afraid it would scorch before I could add the sugar, so I added a little water to the bananas. We have eaten it on toast and also ice cream. I am... — karky Aug 24, 2009

Chicken Adobo in Coconut Milk

Posted by Engrossed

We liked this a lot, and I will make it again. I did cut back on the vinegar to 1 cup and the next time I make it, I am going to cut the vinegar back to 3/4 cup, as we thought it was a little too vinegary. I used frozen boneless chicken thighs,... — karky Jul 25, 2009

Homemade Yogurt

Posted by Dee514

I made this yesterday, using whole milk and a carton of organic Greek yogurt. It couldn't have been easier. I heated the milk until it was just boiling and cooled until my thermometer said 120°. I let it ferment for closer to 8 hours, to make... — karky Feb 22, 2009

Crock Pot Fruited Oatmeal

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Michelle S.

Made this last night night and it was very good. Used steel cut oats, and only raisins, and added a little extra water to compensate for the raisins plumping. The oatmeal came out just right. — karky Jan 10, 2009

Betsy's Lemon-Cranberry Bread

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by HokiesLady

This bread turned out very tasty! I ended up leaving out the lemon juice and peel, and the glaze too, simply because I didn't have either, but I don't think I would have liked it any better. I ended up with 5 small loaves. Definitely will be... — karky Oct 19, 2008

Green Bean, Tomato and Salami Salad

Posted by Sandylee

This salad was great! We used sliced salami, cut into strips, and also cut the tomatoes (we used Roma tomoatoes) into bite sized pieces. This hit the spot, and I can't wait to make it again with tomatoes from our garden. — karky Aug 3, 2008

Sinfully Simple Truffles

Posted by Demonique

This candy was soo easy and simple to make. DH liked the fudge frosting ones so much he asked me to try it with pecan caramel frosting. These were also good, but very rich. They took a little more powdered sugar to get to the right consistency... — karky Aug 1, 2008

This bread was so easy to make, I used only regular white flour in it. Almost like a cake with no frosting. Definitely a winner and one I will be making again!! — karky Aug 1, 2008

The Vixen Burger

Posted by PaulaG

This burger was GREAT! My DH and I are both stuffed to the gills. We added some red bell pepper to the mushrooms and I also sauteed them inside in butter. We had no sogginess in the burgers at all. The chili powder was an awesome touch! All... — karky Jul 19, 2008

Salt-Rising Bread

Posted by Elmotoo

I love salt rising bread, and get it from a bakery every once in a while. It does have a strong smell and a different texture. But I also love it toasted and usually butter it and spread some of my grandmother's homemade chunky applesauce on it. — karky Feb 24, 2008

Refrigerator Fire and Ice Pickles

Love this recipe. Substituted sugar free bread and butter pickles so I left out the sugar. Turned out great, family likes them spicy so added a jar of hot banana peppers too. Make these all the time, there's a jar in the fridge at all times. A big... — karky Aug 26, 2007
