Yogurt, Homemade, from Good Eats, Alton Brown

I love this recipe. I don't use a heating pad, I just use the ceramic insert of my crock pot and wrap it in a towel, then I place it inside the oven and let it sit overnight. Thank you for posting this. — Mami Janine Oct 10, 2009

Cachapas

Posted by Daniel Aguilar

I had a hard time making these. I wonder if it has anything to do with type of corn used? The puree wouldn't thicken so I added corn tortilla flour (masa harina) . I had to make a couple to get the hang of it, as those came out undercooked and... — Mami Janine Oct 10, 2009

Bagels

Posted by Iceland

These were good, but I think they were missing something because mine didn't turn out shiny and were a little heavy on the inside. They still had a good flavor though. I used sesame seeds and cinnamon sugar for the toppings. Thank you for posting!... — Mami Janine Sep 22, 2009

I made these using whole wheat flour instead of spelt and added dried cranberries to half the batch :yummy: I really liked the honey flavor and the texture, they are chewy like granola bars. Also liked the fact that they are so easy to make. One... — Mami Janine Sep 22, 2009

Tostones, or Fried Banana. (Venezuela)

Posted by Daniel Aguilar

I ended up with a %-star rating, however, I made this using regular green bananas and it didn't turn out very well, they were sort of sweet and burned before they were crispy. Then I used green plantains and they were very, very good. Had them... — Mami Janine Sep 18, 2009

Guasacaca Sauce (Venezuela)

Posted by Daniel Aguilar

This sauce was very good. I'm from Mexico, and it reminded me of guacamole, but this is definitely a unique sauce. I did add a little bit of lime juice, just a personal preference, my hubby liked it both ways. I made it with your Tostones, or Fried Banana. (Venezuela) and... — Mami Janine Sep 18, 2009

These are so simple and so good. Mine spread out a lot, I'm not sure if that's the way they are supposed to be, but they were still delicious. Thank you Crafty! Made for Bevy Tag, Sept '09. — Mami Janine Sep 11, 2009

Hamhorns

Yum! These were really good!I made half a batch. I had a little trouble with the measurements, but after some asking around, I found out that a pint of flour=about 2 cups, so I went with that, using half whole-wheat, half all-purpose flour. I... — Mami Janine Sep 11, 2009

My children love these for their lunch boxes. I use Chihuahua cheese for the Swiss cheese and I cut them diagonally into 3rds. Also, I use regular flour tortillas or plain whole wheat and they are very good. Thank you for sharing! — Mami Janine Aug 27, 2009

Mexican Cheese Dip W/Green Chilies and Tequila
