Summer Veggies With Farfalle

Posted by ~Rita~

I would cut back on the tomatoes. There are a LOT of tomatoes in this dish. — Melanie D Aug 15, 2009

Scallops With Cilantro and Lime (Jack Nicholson)

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Oolala

I recommend just sauteing the scallops until they are done and not poaching them. Poaching them sucked the flavor out of the scallops and made them tough. The sauce is good, though. — Melanie D Aug 15, 2009

They were good, but the texture of the rice paper was distasteful. We probably won't make them again. — Melanie D Aug 10, 2009

Hubs rates this a 3.5. It was good. I used only lime zest, not lime rind. — Melanie D Aug 8, 2009

Oven-Roasted Asparagus and Leeks

Posted by JacquelineS

Very good! I never have much luck getting all of the grit and sand out of leeks, though. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. — Melanie D Jul 17, 2009

Chicken Breast With Kiwi

Hubby ranks it a 5. It was very good. The chicken was, indeed, tender as noted by a previous reviewer. It took a looooong time to reduce sauce, though. — Melanie D Jul 8, 2009

Potatoes Seasoned With Lavender and Rosemary.

Posted by ~Rita~

I used dried culinary lavender because I don't grow fresh lavender. I would adjust the cooking time to allow for cutting the potatoes into smaller chunks. Halves seemed large to me. — Melanie D Jul 6, 2009

Roasted Cauliflower, Lavender, Rosemary and Garlic

Posted by ~Rita~

My husband liked it, but I did not care for it. I would recommend leaving out the lemon. The lemon flavor didn't seem to fit. Also, the roasting left the garlic somewhat burned/crispy and burned garlic is bitter. I probably just did something... — Melanie D Jul 6, 2009

Grilled Chicken Breasts With Onion Glaze

This was good. Very subtle flavor. Two things to keep in mind: 1. I did not read the introductory paragraph closely enough and made the full recipe. The recipe makes enough marinade for 2 meals. I would recommend that the person who posted the... — Melanie D Jul 6, 2009
