Chili Con Carne With Beans

Posted by Loves2Teach

I doubled this recipe and simmered it all day. Everyone really liked it and it wasn't too spicy for the kids. My husband and I might have prefered a bit more spice, but that could be easily adjusted. I will definitley be making this again. — Mamabear Oct 21, 2006

Greek Souvlaki

This was a very enjoyable and easy recipe. I thought it had a bit to much vinegar in it but my husband and eldest daughter thought it was perfect. I will definitley make this again. Thank you. — Mamabear Jul 1, 2005

Black Bean Dip

Posted by Sue L

I served this at a dinner party last night and had 3 requests for the recipe. I did omit the salt as we don't consume a lot of salt and I mixed everything in the food processor instead of leaving the chilies and onions whole. An excellent recipe... — Mamabear Dec 22, 2004

Butternut Squash Soup

(5 people found this helpful) Posted by Moody

The soup smelled good but when I tried it it had way to much nutmeg in in. The squash was completly hidden by the amount of spices used. The texture was good but I am going to try to dilute this batch with some more broth to reduce the spices.... — Mamabear Nov 10, 2003

Blueberry Muffins

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by GothicGranola

The fact that the muffins were not to sweet was nice but the texture was not great. I found the muffins turned out too moist to the point they were kinda gummy. They tasted better the next day when I had left them out uncovered in an attempt to... — Mamabear Aug 1, 2003

Veronica's Lemon Buttercream Frosting

(5 people found this helpful) Posted by Trixyinaz

I was very impressed with this frosting. It turned out very with a very light texture, almost like a whipped cream frosting with a very nice lemon flavour. I had enough icing for a two layer round cake but I didn't use it to fill the cake.... — Mamabear Jul 21, 2003

Lemon Cream Filling

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Theresa/ Thunderbird

I used this filling for a white cake with lemon rind and it matched well. The only suggestion I would make is to use the filling while it is still a little warm. I waited until it was completely cool and it had set. It was then a bit hard to... — Mamabear Jul 21, 2003

Honey Curry Sole Fillet

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Izzy Knight

I was worried that this recipe might be to spicy for my kids but we tried it anyways. My 8 year old stopped at her fourth serving so I guess you could say it was a success! It was more like a honey mustard sauce than a curry sauce but was very... — Mamabear Jul 2, 2003
