Uncle Bill's Vegetarian Minestrone Soup

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by William (Uncle Bill) Anatooskin

Fantastically better than the Progresso Minestrone I'm used to. Big wonderful chunks of tomatoes and zucchini and carrots. Just the right amount of beans (not too much). Only recommendation is a slightly more salt. I guess you wouldn't need to... — ulysses Nov 3, 2009

(Panera Bread) Black Bean Soup

Posted by najwa

Pretty good. The red peppers definitely add a nice flavor. Bit salty though - perhaps I used a bit too much bouillon. Recipe does call for small bouillon cubes. Puree is not necessary unless you really don't like a good chunky soup. — ulysses Oct 12, 2009

Excellent. Even with a tiny bit of cinnamon substituted for nutmeg. Thank you. — ulysses Oct 3, 2009

Rice Pudding

Posted by Cheryl E

So addictive. I couldn't stop eating it! Cheryl (the recipe creator) recommends the perfect amount of sugar - not too sweet. Just a sprinkling of cinnamon and half as much vanilla was used. Also added some yogurt-covered golden raisins. — ulysses Sep 5, 2009

Delicious! Thank you very much. Even with not-so-fresh parm & parsley it still tasted great. — ulysses Sep 1, 2009

French Scrambled Eggs

You definitely need a double boiler. I tried a ghetto-double-boiler with a pot and a pyrex dish and it came out as a big pile of inedible goo. — ulysses Aug 22, 2009

Egg Salad Sandwiches

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Charlotte J

Excellent! Very very tasty. Just a bit too salty, would only use half as much salt. Beginner tip: Boil the eggs a few days in advance, otherwise it takes too long to feed the hungry with this. Toast the bread slightly. Goes great with a few... — ulysses Aug 19, 2009

Macadamia-Crusted Tilapia With Pineapple Salsa

Posted by Amy Martin KV

Very healthy and fresh tasting, but not much flavor. And I'm not a smoker or little old lady with no taste buds either. The pineapple was the best tasting part, but it was just lacking something. — ulysses Aug 17, 2009

Turkish Red Lentil Soup

Posted by justcallmetoni

OK. Even pretty good. But I would not blend it at all - it strips away all the good texture. Leaving it chunky with big bits of potatoes and onions and lentils would be much better. 3 stars blended, 4 stars unblended. — ulysses Aug 11, 2009

Basil Cream Chicken

Very good. I used Rachael Ray Chicken Stock + Better Than Bullion Chicken flavor. Rotini instead of Fettuccini. Takes a bit of work but came out great. Thank you very much. — ulysses Aug 6, 2009

Potato Soup

Posted by Shannonmc

Really, really good. I look forward to this for lunch every day, even 4 days in a row. Goes great with Olde Cape Cod Oyster Crackers or Trader Joe's Oyster Crackers. I used "Better than Bullion" for the bullion. Others mentioned too much dill... — ulysses Jul 30, 2009

Chicken Corn Chowder - Quick

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

Good, but very spicy. Recommend not using frozen chicken strips - I did and they had a bit of an off-taste. Please let me know if you have any suggestions to add a slight smoke flavor. — ulysses Jun 29, 2009

Pan Fried Fish With a Rich Lemon Butter Sauce

Posted by 2Bleu (Bird&Buddha)

Way, way, way too much butter. Bit too much garlic too. The butter is about all we could taste. Reduce it to about a third of what is mentioned and maybe it will be better next time. — ulysses Jun 22, 2009

Angels Easy Breakfast Burritos

Pretty good! Easy to make. Agreed with the other reviews saying you can cut the sausage in half. As is, the sausage might be just too much. Also, make sure the sausages drain real well and maybe squeeze some extra grease out of them. You will... — ulysses Jun 17, 2009

Quick and Easy Six Cheese Tortellini Bake

Posted by Daniel'sWife

Made 2 servings, and it came out great, even with 1/2 a cup less sauce available. Very cheesy and tasty. I only counted 4 types of cheeses though: the tortellini cheese, mozzarella, parm, and cream cheese. Will make again! — ulysses Jun 9, 2009

Egg Mcmuffin

Great - tastes just like, or perhaps even better than, the McDonalds version. I made it in a regular pan without the egg ring/can and it came out fine. Very easy and quick. Thank you! — ulysses May 10, 2009
