Low Carb Pizza

(9 people found this helpful) Posted by Sidd

I've been making this for awhile now and it's very good and easy to make. Think of it as a pizza quiche. The only things I do differently are to add 1 Tble. dried oregano(more pizza taste) and use a deep, round pyrex pie plate. It's also good for... — Janis Eschbach Mar 9, 2004

Spaetzle - Hungarian

Posted by Melody

This is a basic Hungarian recipe- only Hungarians call it "nokedli". Germans and Austrians call it "spaetzle". — Janis Eschbach Mar 5, 2004

To Die for Crock Pot Roast

Posted by yooper

OH MY GOSH! This is the best potroast on earth. Really. I used a chuck roast as it's the best in a slow cooker, cut the Italian dressing mix in half (just look at it-lots of salt) and increased the water to 1 cup. Not only was the roast the... — Janis Eschbach Feb 24, 2004

Grand Prize Chili

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Just Cher

Fantastic! I only used about 2 tablespoon of chili powder (that's all I had) and this recipe still turned out GREAT. Much, much better than regular chili-also very different. If you have small kids or woosy husbands, be careful with the cayenne. — Janis Eschbach Feb 24, 2004

Nat's always requested Garlic Butter

(5 people found this helpful) Posted by Nat Da Brat

Great! Go slow with the garlic, though, until you have the amount you want. I put enormous cloves of garlic through my garlic press and ended up having to double all other ingredients. The sugar is the secret to this recipe-made it extra good. — Janis Eschbach Sep 1, 2003

Amish Friendship Bread and Starter

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by gowiththefro

Thank you for the starter! I got the starter and recipe -which makes the best Friendship bread EVER!- several years ago but it didn't have the original starter. Yeah! Now I can make it again. — Janis Eschbach Apr 30, 2003

Hungarian Chicken Paprika

Posted by Sam2

I haven't tried this recipe so can't rate it but chicken paprikas is much simpler to make than this indicates. Also the noodle (same recipe as my Hungarian mom's except cut the salt in half) is actually a dumpling called nokedli. — Janis Eschbach Apr 29, 2003

Hungarian Chicken Paprikash

(6 people found this helpful) Posted by BoxO'Wine

This is just like my Hungarian mother made hers. PERFECT! And nokedli is ALWAYS served with it. P.S. I can't believe how many Hungarians think nokedli is called spaetzle. — Janis Eschbach Apr 29, 2003

Jo Mama's World Famous Spaghetti

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Sharlene~W

Absolutely the greatest! I simmered it for 5 hrs. which used up ALL the water(I even added more). It really is the best when it's been left to rest, though, so it was even better reheated. — Janis Eschbach Apr 26, 2003

Crock Pot Cream Cheese Chicken

(10 people found this helpful) Posted by Dawn

This is really easy and great tasting. At 1:30 in the afternoon I didn't know what was for dinner-by 6:00 it was done. I had bone-in thighs, which I defrosted, took the skin off and browned, and frozen boneless breasts. The only thing I changed... — Janis Eschbach Mar 20, 2003

Spinach Strawberry Salad

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Charlotte J

This recipe is GREAT. Not only was it the simplest strawberry spinach salad I've made but also the best. I did use Splenda instead of sugar and honey roasted sliced almonds (found in the fruit and vegetable section of the grocers)so this salad... — Janis Eschbach Mar 18, 2003
