Braised Red Cabbage With Apples - Scandanavia

Posted by Mrs Goodall

Very nice! I didn'nt have black currant jelly so I used a little more sugar and an extra 2 apples. It tasted almost exactly like the red cabbage we buy in a jar, and it stays good for ages! — Flowerfairy Nov 15, 2009

Dense Chocolate Loaf Cake - Nigella Lawson

Posted by Sherrie-pie

Because of the brown sugar (I think) this cake burns quickly on the outside. The inside was okay, moist and fluffy, although it tasted too treacly for my taste. Don't think I would make this one again. — Flowerfairy Apr 19, 2009

Quick & Simple Pesto (Classic Pesto Recipe) Sauce

Love this recipe in which you don't have to toast the nuts. I added a bit of lemon juice and some salt to bring out the flavours though. — Flowerfairy Jan 29, 2009

Parsley Salad Ala Nigella Lawson

Posted by HeatherFeather

I guess I don't like salads with parsley as a base, this recipe just didn't work for me. So after I had tasted it I added some tomatoes and canned tuna to make it a bit more flavourful. — Flowerfairy Jan 27, 2009

Torta Alla Gianduia (Chocolate Hazelnut Cake)

Posted by s'kat

Very nice cake. Not too heavy and you can clearly taste the hazelnuts. I greased and lined the springform with parchment so I did get the cake out very easily. I removed the side ring first, then turned the springform upside down, took off the... — Flowerfairy Nov 8, 2008

Herbed Zucchini Soup

Posted by Redsie

I hate to give a bad review, but I really didn't like this soup. I used dried dill as listed in the ingredients but it overpowered the whole soup and made it taste fishy. The combination dill/zucchini just didn't work for me. — Flowerfairy Aug 3, 2008

The first time I made this, I found it slightly too sweet, so I omitted the syrup and used vanilla ice cream instead and liked it better this way. Thank you for the recipe. — Flowerfairy Jun 2, 2008

Fabulous Fat-Free Fruit Sorbet

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Jenny Sanders

I loved the rich and natural flavour of the sorbet, and it was really quick and easy to make, without an ice cream machine. I made a mango sorbet. I had two problems though: 1) The frozen mixture was way too dry and hard to process in a blender... — Flowerfairy May 16, 2008

Very good ice cream base. I use it when I make ice cream with fruit, nuts or chocolate shavings. It makes a very subtle, neutral background. — Flowerfairy May 13, 2008
