Gia Shrimp Fra Diavolo

Posted by Southern Lady

Great recipe. Similar to other ones I've made. Only change that decreases prep time (and helps when tomatoes aren't fresh) are to use a can of petite diced tomatoes. I also didn't have wine on hand, so used chicken broth instead. Really great.... — Jackie R. Jul 16, 2009

I wouldn't change this recipe at all! The second time I made it, I added some peanuts for an extra treat! — Jackie R. Apr 12, 2008

Good Ol' English-Style Beer-Battered Fish 'n Chips

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Hungry Chefs

Great recipe, but I think next time I will thin out the batter a little. When it stuck to the fish, it clumped. When I fried it, those "clumpy" areas were a little rubbery. It's a definate keeper in my cookbook! — Jackie R. Mar 29, 2008

Bailey's Chocolate Mousse

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Vseward (Chef~V)

Get a grip JillyBean1026! It's a great recipe. There's only a few ingredients in a chocolate mousse, so I'm sure there's many similarities. Don't ever post a recipe for a peanut butter and jelly sandwich.. you'll sure get someone like... — Jackie R. Mar 26, 2008

Tempura Batter

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by pressurecooker

I have to agree with many writing a review. The batter is TOO thick with the recommended amount of water. I doubled it and it was better. This batter does stick to the vegetables, particularly to peppers, which I've always had problems with.... — Jackie R. Feb 14, 2008

Mom's Swedish Meatballs

I must admit, this didn't have much flavor. I agree with one, after making it, to use less flour. When I made it as written, it lacked flavor and had more of a "flour" taste. Would recommend to add flavor to it and less flour. — Jackie R. Jan 30, 2008

Sesame Pork and Broccoli

Everyone's suggestions very helpful. I did others suggested, marinaded in ginger, garlic, five spice powder (<1 tsp) and soy sauce, but one change I made that added to flavor, was to grate the ginger. It brought out more flavor. Would make... — Jackie R. Jan 19, 2008

Copycat Olive Garden Minestrone Soup by Todd Wilbur

Posted by *~Suzy~*

Suzy's posting is EXCELLENT! Great taste. It's perfect, but like others suggested, things can be added to a person's taste. I added 1/2 cup of red wine and used petite diced tomatoes (same amount). This gave a thicker soup. Also, a 1/4 cup... — Jackie R. Dec 29, 2007

Fabulous Penne a La Vodka

I've made similar recipes for years and had "so-so" results. This was a favorite of my family. Perhaps the thicker crushed tomatoes is the key! — Jackie R. Dec 27, 2007
