Jalapeno Poppers

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Geema

These were really very good. I sprayed them with PAM and baked at 350 and they got nice and crispy. I also did the milk-breadcrumbs part twice, which helped them get a very nice crust. I think next time I may add some seasonings to the cream... — Chef #685017 Jul 18, 2009

Falafel

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

This was a very good recipe, but you HAVE to fry it. Baked falafel is way too dry... the only way to keep it from drying out is the oven is to put oil on it, so you might as well just fry it! I added one egg to the mixture to help it stay together... — Chef #685017 Jul 4, 2009

Creamy Sun-dried Tomato,Roasted Red Pepper and Artichoke Pasta

Posted by Malriah

Delicious! I made a few adjustments - didn't add the sundried tomatoes or pasta water, and used fat-free half & half, but it was still very, very tasty. I love the smokey flavor of the roasted red peppers. — Chef #685017 Jun 8, 2009

Pad Thai with Chicken and Shrimp

Posted by Just Call Me Martha

I don't want to be mean, but this was probably the worst recipe I've ever tried. I had to dump the entire thing in the trash, and now we're going to get take out. — Chef #685017 Apr 17, 2009

Obama Family Chili Recipe

(4 people found this helpful) Posted by Mulligan

I had to try this when I saw it was an Obama family recipe. It was very tasty - the only change I made was to use soy crumbles (vegetarian) and reduced the vinegar just because that seemed like a lot. It was great! Obama 08! — Chef #685017 Oct 30, 2008

Chicken Curry With Cashews

Posted by KelBel

This was great. My husband loved it and even after dinner was trying to get the last bits of sauce out of the pan with a piece of naan! I don't use coconut milk, so I substituted rice milk sweetened with a bit of coconut extract. I also omitted... — Chef #685017 Jul 28, 2008

Baked Felafel Sandwich

Posted by Chef Mean Green

This tasted pretty good but would NOT stay together. I couldn't even flip them in the oven, they totally crumbled. I followed the recipe exactly so not sure where I went wrong. I crumbled up the leftovers and will use them on top of a salad or... — Chef #685017 Jul 16, 2008

Chocolate Chip Blond Brownies

Posted by Musical Joy

Very tasty! I used dark chocolate chips and Smart Balance instead of butter. I also only cooked for 20 minutes because we like ours very soft and chewy. I will definitely make this again. — Chef #685017 Jul 16, 2008

Mchicha - Tanzanian Spinach & Peanut Curry.

Oh yum - 10 stars for this one!!! I just made it for lunch and I am still licking the bowl. I didn't make it very traditionally, but it was still good. I don't use coconut milk, so instead I used rice milk with a little coconut extract added and... — Chef #685017 Jul 13, 2008

Tofu "egg" Salad

Posted by Ambercrombiegirl

This was SO good! I was trying to remember the recipe off the top of my head, so I left off the poultry seasoning and turmeric. I did add a dash of curry powder though. So good with whole wheat flax bread and sliced fresh tomatoes - thanks! — Chef #685017 Jun 28, 2008

Kiwi Banana Shake

Posted by Auntie Jan

Delicious! I love when something so easy tastes so good and is so healthy for you. I used 1 kiwi and 1 large banana, along with about a 1/4 cup of nonfat yogurt and some splenda. About 170 calories for a full glass of delicious! I can't wait to... — Chef #685017 Apr 30, 2008

Really Deep Dish Pizza (Cake Pan Pizza)

Posted by littleturtle

This was AWESOME!! I would give it 10 stars if I could. I guess I'm only rating the crust and the concept because I totally changed the toppings, but still I was MMMMMMING all through dinner. I halved the crust recipe and used an 8x8 pan. After... — Chef #685017 Apr 10, 2008

This was just okay for me. I found it a little bit bland... wouldn't make it again. Definitely not worth almost 100% of your daily fat allotment! — Chef #685017 Apr 9, 2008

Hasty Cobbler

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Luvin' Texas

I loved this! Such an easy and healthy dessert. I used the splenda baking blend, nonfat milk and homemade cinnamon apples for my fruit. I also added some cinnamon to the batter. My casserole dish was occupied, so I baked it in a 8x8 pan -... — Chef #685017 Apr 9, 2008

Delish! I used Splenda, 2% cheese, whole wheat Ritz and cut down the butter to 1 tbsp - and it was still good! Served it with coconut shrimp for a tropical meal. — Chef #685017 Mar 12, 2008

Cornbread Taco Bake

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Linda's Kitchen

This was great! My husband LOVED it and actually ate all of the leftovers, which is very rare. I loved the flavor that the onions gave to the cornbread. I added some green chiles and used salsa instead of tomato sauce. Served with sour cream - yummy! — Chef #685017 Mar 4, 2008

Pork Souvlaki

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

Delicious! My husband loved it and requested that I keep it in my book to make again. He even had seconds, which is VERY rare! I ended up cooking the meat a little too long (wanted to get it nice and brown) so it was a little dry, but that is easy... — Chef #685017 Feb 19, 2008

Stuffed Portabella Mushrooms

Delicious! One of my favorite recipes I've found on Zaar. I lowered the fat content by using fat free cream cheese and reduced fat for the other cheeses... didn't use butter either, just a little PAM. The garlic and bacon really combine to make a... — Chef #685017 Feb 10, 2008

Creamy Cajun Chicken Pasta

Not like this needs another review, but it was delicious! I love this dish, but it's not worth over 60 grams of fat to me, so I made some substitutions. I used light butter, reduced fat parm and fat-free half and half. It still tasted great! I... — Chef #685017 Feb 5, 2008
