Garden Herb Bread

Posted by Karen From Colorado

This made an outstanding loaf of fresh bread. I put everything in the bread machine, then left to go do some errands. I came back home to a truly wonderful smell. This bread is great for jazzing up ordinary sandwiches. Thanks for posting. — Natalie Z Jun 12, 2004

Grilled Catfish Fillets

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

We enjoyed this grilled catfish. I had 6 large thick fillets and there was plenty of basting sauce. Overall, the fish had a zesty flavor which we all liked. A keeper. Thanks. — Natalie Z Jun 12, 2004

Spanish Sangria

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by Tish

I used a Spanish Rioja. Delicious flavor and a good drink to go along with spicy fajitas and chimichangas. I served the sangria over ice in large ballon wine glasses. Added a half-slice of orange in each one. Beautiful and very festive. Thank-you... — Natalie Z Apr 27, 2004

Raspberry Grilled Cheese Sandwiches

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

This was a fun, tasty sandwich. I thought the pecans and green onion were a great touch. I used baby swiss cheese. My husband was also pleasantly surprised at how good these tasted. A good choice when you want something different for dinner. — Natalie Z Apr 27, 2004

Lentil Soup

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by DDW

So delicious and healthy. I used the ham bone and meat from a smoked ham which gave the soup a wonderful smoky flavor. I also doubled the garlic. My husband thought it was good, too, and he didn't think he would like lentils. Thanks for the recipe. — Natalie Z Mar 12, 2004

Spicy Country-Fried Steaks

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

This is probably one of the best recipes I have made out of all the wonderful Zaar recipes I have tried. This gets a big time WOW from me, my husband, and kids. The gravy was excellent and no one guessed it was made from a packaged mix. 1/4 tsp... — Natalie Z Mar 12, 2004

Super Swiss Steak (Crock Pot)

This recipe was just right for my family's tastes. The meat was so tender that you could cut it with a fork. Also had tasty seasonings and a wonderful gravy. I served the steak and vegetables with mashed potaotes and spooned the gravy on the... — Natalie Z Jan 14, 2004

Chicken, Shrimp, and Sausage Stew

Wowie!! I made this last weekend and we ate the last of the left-overs last night. Very, very delicious and easier to make than I at first thought. I had to search out the andouille sausage but it was worth the hunt. Real spicy and hearty. The... — Natalie Z Jan 14, 2004

Apple Praline Bread

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

I made two loaves--one for my friend who has been sick, and one to stay at my house. Very glad I did that. The bread was moist but with the nice texture of the apples and pecans. The topping is what puts it over the top. I suggest eating it warm... — Natalie Z Oct 12, 2003

Oh, these were so heavenly. Easy to follow recipe. One bite and I was hooked. Rich, creamy, and very lemony. My husband ate half the pan while he was watching the football games. Very addictive. Thanks MizzNezz. — Natalie Z Oct 12, 2003

Eggplant Mykonos

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

WOW, this made an awesome meal. I agree with the other reviewers in that this makes a very thick stew-like consistency. I added a little more tomato juice. The fennel and dill were an dynamic taste combination and something I would have never... — Natalie Z Oct 12, 2003

Peanut Butter Pie

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

Joy abounds with this delicious pie. I love peanut butter the way most women love chocolate. This pie was creamy, rich and so sinful I will have to run an extra 3 miles this week. I will keep this for special occasions. Thanks MizzNezz. — Natalie Z Aug 1, 2003

Honey Mustard Turkey Meatballs

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

I made these meatballs and served them over rice. My family and I were not disappointed at all. The meatballs were tender and juicy. The sauce was more like a sweet and sour sauce. I spooned the extra sauce over the meatballs and rice. Your... — Natalie Z Aug 1, 2003

Peach Bread

This bread was over the top delicious. The fresh peaches were lovely and added to the moist texture of the bread. This is so much better than my hard as a brick ole banana bread. The recipe worked perfectly as written. Thanks for sharing it. — Natalie Z Aug 1, 2003

Jambalaya for the Crock Pot

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

One reason I seldom make jambalaya in the summer is because it heats up the kitchen so with the simmering on the stove. I LOVE this crockpot recipe. I did like some others and added 1 lb. browned andouille sausage. The seasonings were just right... — Natalie Z Jun 22, 2003
