New England Soup Factory's Sweet Potato Chicken Barley Soup

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by winkki

A fabulous recipe - it turns out that I really love barley. But the cherry on top of the cake was the comments from our 3 kids - all scoffed up in no time, even by our 10 months-old girl. A definite keeper. — Spiritualized Dec 31, 2007

Tortellini and Spinach Bake

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by -Sylvie-

Excellent meal ! Very easy to do, and the family gulped most of it in one go - I was looking forward to eat the rest the next day, to find that my dear wife and baby had finished it ! Brilliant tastes, perhaps not the healthiest of dishes, but... — Spiritualized Dec 5, 2007

Vegan - Hearty Root Soup

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Dragonshoes

Liked the soup, used a great deal of my veggies, but slightly bland. It needs something else. Don't know what yet ! — Spiritualized Dec 5, 2007

7-Vegetable Chicken Stew with Dumplings

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Lennie

Excellent, outstanding recipe. The tastes are clearly defined, with the chicken soaking all the flavours beautifully. I did not have any peas, but the recipe did not miss them. I put more baking powder as per another reviewer here, but I felt that... — Spiritualized Dec 5, 2007

Veggie Quesadillas

Posted by Malriah

Excellent stuff - not as daunting as it may look, it's actually a fairly easy recipe to follow. Uses quite a lot of veggies, and the kids scoffed the stuff, asking for more ! — Spiritualized Nov 14, 2007

Crock Pot Winter Vegetable Casserole

Posted by Sussan

This was OK, but not great. I loved the idea though, but in practice this chunky soup has a fairly sour taste (probably thanks to the turnip & swede), but nothing to tone the sourness down (cream for example). Great use of winter vegetables, but... — Spiritualized Nov 12, 2007

Garlicky Greens Saute

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Bergy

Very good to use surplus greens indeed. However the garlicky taste got lost through cooking. I was expecting a much more pungent taste with 6 cloves !. Goes nicely with rice as a vegetarian meal. — Spiritualized Nov 10, 2007

Pork and Vegetable Lo Mein (Easy and Delicious)

Posted by ciao

Very good recipe, everyone in the family enjoyed it. Not too spicy, in the tradition of Asian cooking but slightly simplified and Westernized. Certainly would do it again. — Spiritualized Nov 10, 2007

Sausage casserole

Posted by Belle Vix

Hearty dish, simple. The tastes are really basic, but in a good way. Unfortunately, my sausages were of poor quality and rendered quite a lot of water. Will try again with good quality sausages next time ! — Spiritualized Nov 10, 2007

Berry-Melon Agua Fresca

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by dicentra

Lovely drink - the strawberry taste really comes out, with a subtle melon background. Raspberries were a bit fainter, if any tast at all. Will make again ! — Spiritualized Nov 10, 2007

Sweet Potato Curry With Spinach and Chickpeas

Posted by Kozmic Blues

Very good dish - uses lots of vegetables and the flavours and textures mix well. However, the level of spices is really not enough to call it a curry. The amounts should be increased substantially to have a 'proper' curry. This was lovely with... — Spiritualized Oct 21, 2007

Chestnut and Bacon Risotto With Savoy Cabbage

Posted by ~Leslie~

Superb recipe !!! I had to amend the amounts though, as I felt that the amount of rice was not enough to feed a family of four. No vermouth either, but white wine does the trick as well ! Taste-wise, the mixture of chestnuts and cabbage against... — Spiritualized Sep 29, 2007

Broccoli Salad with Oven-Roasted Mushrooms

Posted by Dancer^

Not a massive success I am afraid. There was far too much lemon juice, to the point of mushrooms being inedible. I would halve if not quarter the amount of lemon juice used to roast the mushrooms. The sauce being very tart (mustard + vinegar,... — Spiritualized Sep 24, 2007
