Soft and Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

Posted by kelly123

Everyone here liked these a lot. I'm still working to get that 'puff' that stays up, even after cooling. It seems like any chewy cookie needs to be underbaked a bit to stay chewy, and then they fall and flatten quite a bit as they cool. — SrtaMaestra Jan 31, 2009

Spiced Almonds for the Tapas Bar

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ~Rita~

Very good! I also used unblanched almonds. This was my first time using the smoked paprika I received in a swap this fall, and I love it! We are including these in our holiday gifts of sweets, nuts, and fruit! Yummy! I did use a bit more than... — SrtaMaestra Dec 26, 2008

Spicy Cashews

Posted by ratherbeswimmin'

Yummy! I also omitted the cayenne pepper, because I was afraid it would be too spicy. I might try including a dash next time. I added a dash of cumin to add a little smokey flavor. I'm including these with my holiday gifts of sweets and nuts. — SrtaMaestra Dec 26, 2008

Cranberry Orange Muffins

Posted by Sue L

This is a great muffin recipe! I've made it twice now, with good results. The first time, I was in too much of a rush and forgot to put the 1/2 cup sugar in with the other dry ingredients. Those were a bit tart! The second time, doubled the... — SrtaMaestra Oct 26, 2008

Pecan Praline Topping

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by 2Bleu (Bird&Buddha)

Trust the recipe, trust the recipe! I have to keep telling myself this because I doubted the recipe when I saw how thin it was after adding the rum, and I cooked it a little longer. Once it cooled, it was evident that the consistency before the... — SrtaMaestra Oct 19, 2008

A Complete Breakfast in Bed for the One You Love

Posted by 2Bleu (Bird&Buddha)

YUM! I made this for breakfast this morning. I also used sliced wheat bread, and I skipped the cinnamon sugar step, as I always add cinnamon, vanilla, and nutmeg to the egg before dipping the bread anyway. We used 2 eggs to dip 4 slices of... — SrtaMaestra Oct 19, 2008

Toll House Pie

I have this chilling in the refrigerator for use tomorrow. I will add stars then. This went together very nicely. I think the instructions could include a bit more detail, regarding beating the eggs first, blending in the next ingredients until... — SrtaMaestra Oct 19, 2008

Basic Brown Gravy Mix

Posted by Learning the Ropes

It's nice to have a container of this in the pantry instead of having to keep track of those little pouches from the store. This mixes together very easily, and is sitting in the pantry waiting until we nee some gravy. I'll add to my review when... — SrtaMaestra Oct 18, 2008

Berry Vanilla Breakfast Cake

Posted by Adria82

Super breakfast or dessert cake! I halved the recipe to fit an 8 by 8 glass pan. I used homemade blueberry pie filling. I also used 1/2 whole wheat flour, and less sugar overall, some of which was splenda. I used butter instead of margarine.... — SrtaMaestra Oct 18, 2008

Chicken Casserole

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Adria82

This turned out really well for us, but we did add a second can of chichen soup and more wine. We were a little short on the wine needed for 2 cans of soup, so we added a little water to make up the difference, and I'm glad we did, because the... — SrtaMaestra Oct 18, 2008

Lemony Cherry or Berry Poke Cake

Posted by Engrossed

I liked the flavor of this cake, but it did turn out quite soggy. I wonder if it would be better to allow the cake and the jello to cool a bit more before pouring the jello over the cake. Also, this cake does not keep very long. I'd recommend... — SrtaMaestra Oct 16, 2008

Chocolate Peanut Butter Plunge

Posted by Sydney Mike

Amazing! Dh loves DQ Peanut Buster Parfaits. We used this sauce, vanilla ice cream, and dry roasted peanuts, and it tastes a lot like the DQ parfait--only better, because the chocolate sauce has peanut butter in it! Oh, that and the little fact... — SrtaMaestra Oct 13, 2008
