Banana Bread French Toast

Posted by Roxygirl in Colorado

Not sure if the end result depends on the banana bread but mine just tasted like warmed banana bread. I'm curious about tasting french toast made of regular bread and this recipe, esp w/ variation of the sweetened condensed milk. — CookofLove Sep 28, 2008

Best of Kansas Banana-Walnut Bread

Posted by Lisa1

Perfect! I tried substituting 1/4 c of applesauce for the shortening and 1/4 c wheat germ and 1/2 c oats for 3/4 c of the flour and it was still good and it was ready a bit sooner! I would start checking it after about 40 min next time. — CookofLove Sep 24, 2008

Perfect! I doubled the recipe and cooked it in a roaster oven for practically 12 hours checking if it got brown so that I could turn it over into its juice. We will not be ordering ready-made brisket any more! Thanks for the recipe! — CookofLove Aug 16, 2007

Mexican Rice

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Jan #7

I think adding veggies in Mexican rice is a great way to make it more nutritious! I used cumin powder instead of the seeds and added all the chicken broth after everything was sauteed. I also used 2 grated carrots instead of the bell pepper. — CookofLove Jul 8, 2007
