We've used this recipe several times now and the whole family loves it. I usually use real green pepper though. Thanks. — MNAnn Dec 9, 2008

Canary Island Cilantro Soup

Posted by canarygirl

Yummy! Even my 8 and 4 yr. old boys loved it. Had two tomatoes so we used both, plus 1.5 bunches of cilantro. The rice was great in it - we used short grain brown rice. Used food processor to chop all the veggies. Can't wait to have it again. — MNAnn Dec 7, 2008

Cranberry-Orange Relish

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Ed Paulhus

Mmm. I look forward to this every year but I buy organic cranberries now so I didn't have the recipe on the back of the bag. This year I added an apple and only 2/3 cup sugar and it is still yummy. — MNAnn Nov 26, 2008

Poached Salmon in White Wine Sauce

Posted by Dancer^

My husband, 4 year old and I loved this! We used chicken broth in place of the clam juice as we did not have that on hand. We served it with linguine with fresh garden tomatoes, basil and garlic. Lovely, simple meal. — MNAnn Sep 15, 2008

Cranberry Orange Quick Bread (Five Roses Flour - 1967)

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Derf

Great recipe! Thank you. I had frozen cranberries I needed to use up so I doubled the recipe and made it in a fancy one layer cake pan. I used only 3 eggs and not quite a 1/2 c. of butter. I added 1/2 c. flax meal and some applesauce instead and... — MNAnn Apr 29, 2008

Fast and Simple Veggieful Peanut Pasta for Two

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Anme

Yum! I love one dish meals. We doubled the recipe and I followed the sauce ingredients exactly except I served red pepper on the table instead of adding it to the sauce. We used thin spaghetti for the pasta but I think rice noodles would be... — MNAnn Mar 26, 2008

Chocolate Pretzel Ring Candies

Posted by Linorama

Easy, fast and the kids could help. A friend of mine used Hugs (Kisses with stripes) - very cute. I couldn't find Hugs so I used striped baking chips, about 5-6/ pretzel and they worked OK. We used Rold Gold ring pretzels. They were fine but most... — MNAnn Dec 22, 2007

Sneak in the Veggies Cheddar Cheese Soup.

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by EmmyDuckie

Delicious! My 3 year old gobbled up 2 bowls, my husband and I loved it and my picky 7 year old ate his whole bowl (but only rated it 2.5). I added a sweet potato that needed to be used up, used regular cheddar and skim milk and added about a... — MNAnn Dec 18, 2007

Crock Pot Golden Chicken Curry

Posted by IOjaw

My husband and I loved this! I have been trying to find a recipe for curry w/o coconut after trying my friend Leia's authentic Indian chicken curry. She doesn't have a recipe and this one is pretty darn close to the right flavor and very easy as... — MNAnn Dec 3, 2007

Blackening Spice Mix

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Mille® ™

We used this for blackened tuna strips in fresh peppers (any long mildly spicy) topped with cheese and broiled. It was wonderful. I'll try to get my husband to help me come up with the recipe. We recreated it after having it as an appetizer at a... — MNAnn Nov 25, 2007

Creamy Italian Chicken & 'Shrooms

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by luvinlif2k

I specifically looked up this recipe as I had lost the one I had received from a friend. It is one of our favorites. SO EASY and great for guests too! You can let it cook longer than 3 hours if needed. I just use whatever "cream of" I have on... — MNAnn Oct 12, 2007

Chilled Green Bean and Red Potato Salad

Posted by Mirj

I too had many garden beans and potatoes to use! I used 1/4 c. virgin olive oil and that added great flavor. I wish I had fresh dill, but I used some from a jar. My husband and I enjoyed this recipe the night I served it but the kids didn't like... — MNAnn Aug 14, 2007

Bulgur Salad With Chickpeas and Feta

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by KelBel

My husband and I loved this salad. The kids weren't too sure of the texture of bulgur but they'll come along! I didn't have fresh mint so I had to use bottled and had to substitute curly parsley (it's what I have in the garden). I cooked the... — MNAnn Aug 14, 2007

Green Bean Salad

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

I can't imagine using canned beans for this. We loved it with our fresh garden beans and tomatoes, a nice way to eat up both! I used fresh basil as we had it in the garden and that was a nice touch. I made it twice, the 2nd time was for a picnic... — MNAnn Aug 14, 2007
