Hummus

Posted by Charishma Ramchandani

Thanks Chamma! Usually when I try to make hummus in the blender, it's an hour of swearing, crying, whining, and ultimately, mashing it myself. This one worked in the blender and there were no adjustments needed! Perfect! — Bill Gary May 29, 2006

Tomato Lemon Chicken Breasts with Sage

Posted by Rainberry Blues

I actually found the lemon a little overpowering, I think I would reduce the rind to about half, but that's not to say it didn't taste totally delicious! — Bill Gary Nov 25, 2005

Italian Rice Balls

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Julesong

This review is about 2 months late and for that i apologize. I had made these for Christmas as a different type of appetizer and they were well-received. In fact I should have doubled the recipe so fast were they wolfed. Good job. — Bill Gary Feb 27, 2005

Italian Spinach

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Glo Kersh

This was GREAT. I used two 10 oz packets of frozen leaf spinach and heated them on very low heat for about an hour (it didn't occur to me to defrost them beforehand), upped the garlic to 2 cloves and upped to 2 eggs. I thought it would look like... — Bill Gary Feb 2, 2004

Stuffed Mushrooms with Crab

(4 people found this helpful) Posted by Colleen M Schmehl

Very good. I made these for Superbowl Sunday (Go Pats!) with some changes. I doubled the recipe (had 20 shrooms), and used about 1/2 cup finely chopped onion in place of the instant minced onion, and used 2 cloves finely minced garlic in place... — Bill Gary Feb 2, 2004

Hot Buttered Rum

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Gay Gilmore

This was absolutely delicious, perfect for a winter night. I reduced the recipe by half (I didn't have a gallon of rum) and saved the rest of the batter. I would recommend cutting the amount of ground cloves in half, but that might just be me, I... — Bill Gary Jan 2, 2003

Mulled Apple Cider

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Sue L

I cut one additional orange in half and crushed it over the cider (I was too lazy to actually juice it) and my guests for Thanksgiving inhaled it, all the while trying to figure out what it was (they never had cider before). Boy were they amazed,... — Bill Gary Nov 28, 2002

Orange Omelette for Harlots and Ruffians

Crock Pot Smothered Chicken

(5 people found this helpful) Posted by Braunda

This was great! I added an extra 1 1/2 tsp flour, because of brau's stern admonishment to watch the fat (I prepared this in the oven), and it came out fantastic. Kudos to Brau! Now if only we could see more turtle recipes...... — Bill Gary Oct 5, 2002

Grilled Shark to Die For

(3 people found this helpful) Posted by V'nut-Beyond Redemption

This recipe very nearly works as it is. I didn't want to add sugar because I didn't want to blacken the fish, but after 1 steak, I added 1/2 again as much catsup and about an extra 1/4 cup of orange juice, to try to cut the saltiness of the soy.... — Bill Gary Aug 5, 2002
