Strawberry Shortcake a la Treebeard's

Posted by PanNan

I made only the shortcake part and served with strawberries and whipped cream. THe cake was excellent, it had a nice slightly sweet flavor and was not too dry. Definately a keeper! — Kimke May 24, 2008

Corn/Jalapeno Casserole

Posted by dojemi

WOW--i love this stuff. I had it at a carryin at work today (and previously). I could not stop eating it. I can't wait to make it and take it somewhere. I think it would be good with corn chips too! — Kimke Mar 4, 2008

Chicken in Peanut Curry

Posted by Fair weather cook

I did really like it. It was very easy, didn't take long at all. I did use the soy sauce substitution. The sauce was VERY mild and made ALOT. We love sauce and I usually double the amount of sauce but I am glad I didn't here. I think you could... — Kimke Sep 30, 2007

Cheesy Eggplant (Aubergine) Pesto Stacks

Posted by FlemishMinx

Like another reviewer said, I hate to be negative but we hated this. I followed the instructions exactly, used our fresh homemade pesto with fresh mozzarella and it concept,it seemed like it would be great. Noone liked it. We ended up scraping... — Kimke Aug 24, 2007

Vegetarian "meatballs"

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Kathleen McDonald

I was VERY VERY VERY skeptical. The reviews were outstanding but it just seemed like a really bizarre recipe. THEY ROCK! They were so good. And if we weren't currently eating meat, I think my husband would have been fooled. I made the... — Kimke Mar 28, 2007

Funky Chicken With Sesame Noodles

(9 people found this helpful) Posted by Mirj

We loved this! I did make a sort of major substitution as I used salmon instead of chicken. I had went to the grocery to purchase all the ingredients and then realized at home I had no chicken. The salmon marinated overnight. I took this to a... — Kimke Mar 12, 2007

Balsamic and Rosemary Lamb Chops

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by I'mPat

We loved these. This is very similar to what we usually do but the balsamic gives a bit of additional "zing"! We did add a few TBSP of minced garlic which I think added to the flavor. — Kimke Mar 1, 2007

String/Green Beans W/Ginger and Garlic

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by chia

This was a really easy good recipe. I often want something more than just a boiled or steamed bean. This was easy and gave just a bit more excitement without being overdone. Don't overcook the beans. They are better a bit crisp. Thanks for... — Kimke Feb 26, 2007

Chicken and Broccoli Stir-Fry

Posted by KittyKitty

I made this last night. It was fairly quick to put together once the chopping was done. I think the time to prepare should be changed as it recommended marinading the chicken for several to many hours. Since I don't enjoy sweet things, I took... — Kimke Jan 24, 2007

Best Apple Cake

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by RoseofSharon

I thought this cake was good, I liked it but I didn't think it was the BEST CAKE EVER. It was easy, it took very little time to get in the oven. I did follow previous reviewers comments and used 1/2 oil and 1/2 applesauce: the result was a very... — Kimke Nov 2, 2006

Chicken Ala King in 30 Minutes

I saw Rachel make this last week and thought it looked easy and good. Something the kids would like too. I followed the recipe with the exception of leaving out the pimentoes as I am not a big fan. I disagree with the previous reviewer who was... — Kimke Sep 7, 2006

Fresh Tomato and Corn Salad

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by rouxdog

I have to agree with Sidney, it was lacking something for me. We used very fresh corn and excellent quality olive oil but something was missing. We ended up adding some red onion and mixing up a vinegarette with more oo, balsamic, garlic and... — Kimke Aug 11, 2005

The Best Cashew Chicken Stir Fry

This was pretty good--definately better the 2nd day--reheated. I just felt like there was something missing--we couldn't put our finger on it. It was definately pretty--with all the different colors. I felt that I could have used a bit more... — Kimke Aug 9, 2005

I had high expectations for this recipe since all the previous reviewers liked it so much. I followed the directions to a "t" and just wasn't blown away by it. It smelled great while cooking but the taste was rather mild. I was really expecting... — Kimke Aug 9, 2005

My own Baby Kate really seemed to enjoy this. As for an adult palate, I thought it was fine but would probably serve it to kids and eat something else. Will probably make again. — Kimke Mar 15, 2005

Salmon and Leek Pasta

This was very good. The tastes are subtle but nice. It was easy to prepare, we did grill the salmon and then add it to the pasta when we added the sauce. Due to a clam allergy, i substituted chicken broth instead of the clam juice.... — Kimke Oct 25, 2004
