Basic White Bread (Kitchenaid)

Posted by Linda's Kitchen

Ive made this recipe several times now. Its closest to the one my grandmother used to make and far superior to the one I had been using. A trick I have learned recently: If you spray your dough hook with Pam the dough will not stick to it as... — Ms. Lillian Nov 7, 2009

U. S. Senate Bean Soup

Posted by MizzNezz

Absolutely delicious. Instead of using all water, I use 2 large cans of chicken stock and the remainder water. It seems to give it a much richer flavor. Also, we have a Honey Baked Ham store in our town. They sell their left-over ham bones,... — Ms. Lillian Sep 26, 2009

Definately a keeper!!! Served it to company last night. There were 4 of us, but I used 3 cups of shrimp, but made sauce for 4. In addition, I added 3 cloves of garlic. Since my wife is not a "spicy" person I omitted the Cayenne. I'll probably put... — Ms. Lillian Nov 23, 2008

Mushroom Pot Roast

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Julesong

A great way to fix pot roast! The gravy was everything you said it was. I added about 1/2 of a 14 oz can of beef broth to give it more liquid to simmer in. this made plenty of broth for gravy. We'll be making this again. — Ms. Lillian Jul 7, 2008

Corn Fritters

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Evie*

We have been making a corn fritter recipe of my grandmother's for years. They required frying in about 2" of fat. When this recipe suggested just putting some grease in a skillett, I decided it was worth a try. We found them every bit as good... — Ms. Lillian Jun 16, 2008

Delicious. Whenever a soup recipe calls for water I substitute chicken, beef or vegetable stock. it always makes the soup richer. I used Chicken stock in this case. — Ms. Lillian Oct 21, 2007

Pork Schnitzel

By far the best Schnitzel I have ever fixed. I did I used the japaneese bread crumbs. I think they were called panko. They made them really crispy. Next time I would double the sauce though. It really made the dish. — Ms. Lillian Jun 13, 2007

Definately a keeper. I had plenty of fresh asparagus so I steamed it and used it instead of the frozen. Next time I would soften the onion before using. I could not find the dried vegetable pieces but I am sure it would make it much better. — Ms. Lillian May 13, 2007
