Washboard Cookies

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MizzNezz

My dough was also not firm enought to roll into balls. I just put rounded tablespoons of the dough on the cookie sheet, sprinkled with colored sugar & baked. They were fluffy & tasty! And so far ... the kids like them! I also doubled the recipe,... — Puffykins :) Oct 28, 2006

Shelly's Spinach Beef Skillet Dinner

I also added chopped garlic with the onion and added tomato paste with my tomatoes, but didnt have any REGULAR diced tomatoes --only had Rotel. I am the NON-spinach fan in the house, but the flavor was nice — next time, will melt cheese over it... — Puffykins :) Dec 18, 2005

My Kids Favourite Chocolate Chip Cookies

Posted by *Pixie*

I made this according to the directions and ended up with a LOOSE batter, not a cookie DOUGH. I added enough flour to bring the dough together & added walnuts. They smell good & the dough tasted WONDERFUL, can't wait to see what they taste like... — Puffykins :) Dec 11, 2005

Apple Brown Betty

I don't know if I did it wrong, but this didn't turn out like I expected. The bread cube mixture was sparce & wouldn't "spread" in the bottom of the pan, nor was there enough to "spread" on the top. It turned out burnt around the edges & with very... — Puffykins :) Oct 16, 2005

Frosted Pumpkin Spice Bars

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by dayla

Well, put me in the same catagory as your daughter, because ... I "supposedly" don't like pumpkin either (I won't even LOOK at a pumpkin pie). But we had pumpkins left over from Halloween, so we cut them up, roasted them & made HOMEMADE pumpkin... — Puffykins :) Jan 14, 2003

Ham and Au Gratin Potatoes

Posted by MizzNezz

I do not know what (if anything) that I did wrong, but I had to cook this dish for about 2+ HOURS in order to get the potatoes DONE!!! I put it in a 8x11 in. pan, because I don't have a "casserole" dish .... but I have done this before w/ other... — Puffykins :) Nov 3, 2002

Linguini with Scampi

YUM, YUM, YUM!! Even w/ my "oops". I read several recipes that evening & remembered one that called for 8 cloves of garlic (rather than the 4 cloves) and it was still DELICIOUS!! Plus, I also used dry parsley (didn't have any fresh on-hand).... — Puffykins :) Sep 23, 2002

Coconut Shrimp

LOVED the dipping sauce. The shrimp were just OK on their own, but the sauce COMPLETED them & made them MUCH BETTER. — Puffykins :) Sep 23, 2002

Salisbury "Steak"

(5 people found this helpful) Posted by Aroostook

I had to make some "substitutions". I was out of onions & dry bread crumbs. I substituted fresh mushrooms (chopped finely) for the onions (my daughter wouldn't eat them anyway) & crushed SEASONED CROUTONS for the dry bread crumbs. Then I combined... — Puffykins :) Jun 13, 2002

Pull-Apart MONKEY BREAD

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Karen=^..^=

I fixed this for a Hispanic family. Everyone enjoyed it & I even passed on the recipe to someone. I fixed it the nite before, refrigerated it & let it sit out for about 1 hour. Even then it was still chewy inside each bite! — Puffykins :) May 27, 2002
