Pumpkin Cheesecake Bars

Posted by KyJo

My stepdaughter calls this pumpkin junk. Whatever these are, they are not cheesecake. We like them, but we were looking for more of a cheesecake texture and flavor. Will attempt to fix this and post the results here. — Tugar357 Nov 25, 2009

Jamaican Jerk Burgers With Orange-Chipotle Mayonnaise

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by MarraMamba

Yumm!! I cut the brown sugar and allspice in half, but that;s our taste. The mayo came out a bit watery, so next time I will use OJ concentrate. Other than that, it was quite excellent. Thanks for sharing, and I can't wait to try the jerk sauce on... — Tugar357 Jul 27, 2009

This rocked. We did add some chicken and shrimp we sauteed separately but this was the base. Thanks for sharing. — Tugar357 Jul 10, 2009

Munchies (Lentils)

Posted by L DJ

I was thoroughly shocked. The wife didn't like them so much but I do. Burn a few on a second sheet pan. A very interesting snack. — Tugar357 Apr 23, 2009

Peach & Raspberry Ice Cream

Posted by Charlotte J

Like the other rater, all of it did not fit in my 1 1/2 quart mixer which I ended up cleaning a bit. That aside, the condensed milk imparts an odd taste when it combines with the almond extract. It wasn't bad but it wasn't stellar. — Tugar357 Jun 27, 2008

Mustard-Peppercorn Flank Steak

Posted by jesslems

Great stuff and a very adult taste. Both myself and my wife had doubts about this but I bought some steaks and gave it a try. Had to add Grey Poupon as that is all we had that wasn't yellow mustard. It worked nicely. I started the onions first... — Tugar357 May 24, 2008

Irish Rosie's Irish Soda Bread

Posted by 1Steve

This was incredible. Had to use a bit of cream cheese as I only had about 10 ounces of sour cream. It was slightly sweet, hard exterior, pillow soft interior. Thank you for sharing this. Wife said it was the best bread I ever made. — Tugar357 Mar 16, 2008

Ceta's Irish Soda Bread

Good stuff! The wife said it was the best bread I ever made. As I only had about 8 or 10 ounces of sour cream, I added an 8oucne package of cream cheese to the batter. Took ten minutes longer but was hard outside and soft inside. Thanks for the... — Tugar357 Mar 16, 2008

Tyler Florence's Horseradish and Garlic Prime Rib

I used this exactly as planned. The roast itself was outstanding and I give that part 5 stars. The "gravy' and the 'crust' was so salty I gagged. When I make it next time, I plan on cutting the salt in half. I love salt by the way. — Tugar357 Dec 25, 2007

Chicken Liver Stroganoff

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Bergy

I could only find a slightly larger container of chicken livers, so I of course bought two! It broke apart more than it would have had I done it in batches. I used Sambal instead of chili sauce and half the amount as the Sambal is fairly hot. Will... — Tugar357 Jul 30, 2007

Cast Iron Skillet Cornbread

I added a 7 ounce can of green chilies and a handful of cheddar cheese. I also committed sacrilege and added a fat 1/4 cup of sugar. Preheated the skillet in the 450 oven and it took 17 minutes. Wonderful recipe, thanks for sharing. — Tugar357 Mar 9, 2007

It got rave reviews all around. The only change I made was to change the salt to powdered chicken bouillion ( about 1 tablespoon). Good stuff! — Tugar357 Feb 17, 2007

Italian Sausage Tvp

Since I had to vary from the original I won't rate it. I had to use some sage as the family hates fennel. I also double the recipe and used a whole egg instead of just the white. Used veggie broth not boiling water. I then browned it in a pan with... — Tugar357 Sep 23, 2006

Mexi Ground Beef Chili Macaroni Casserole

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by KITTENCAL

Loved it. Had to replace the green peppers with green chiles. I do have a gripe though. There is so much cheese on the top that it becomes an uncuttable blanket. Next time I will use less cheese on top. Thanks for sharing. Will make this again. — Tugar357 Jun 26, 2006
