Simple Tofu With Peanut Butter (Vietnamese)

Posted by Nolita_Food

Simple, easy, and tasty! I first sautéed the tofu cubes, to give them some texture, and I added a bit of chile garlic sauce while reducing the sauce, to give it a little kick. I also threw in a wee bit of cornstarch slurry, to thicken the sauce... — Tom H. Feb 18, 2008

Pumpkin butter

Mmm, simple and delicious! You really have to watch the stove, though, and stir pretty frequently. I added a pinch of salt to enhance the flavors a bit. — Tom H. Jan 25, 2008

Three Sisters Harvest Stew

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Kitsune

Excellent stew, very filling, too. I love anything involving squash. Before serving, I took my stick blender to the pot and pureed a bit of the soup. Not all of it, mind you, but just enough to give it a smoother texture. — Tom H. Nov 11, 2007

Spiced Peach Jam

Posted by Stephanie in Pittsburgh

I doubled the recipe as I figured if you're going to process four half-pints, you may as well process eight. I decided to throw in a vanilla bean (seeds scraped + skin) to add another exotic flavor to the jam (vanilla + cardamom = teh awesome).... — Tom H. Sep 11, 2007

Noble's Worlds Best Cookies

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Jellyqueen

The cookies were quite good, but the dough was very dry and hard to work with. It kept falling apart. — Tom H. May 7, 2007

Mocha Biscotti

I love these. I added a bit more then a tablespoon of coffee crystals to the dough, and I didn't have any espresso powder, so I just used a double dose of coffee crystals there. The texture is prefect! — Tom H. Dec 10, 2006

Café L'orange

Posted by Lauralie41

It's good, but WAY too sweet, I'd try cutting the sugar to 1/2 cup, or even less than 1/4 cup. — Tom H. Dec 9, 2006

Gingerbread Truffles

This was my first time making truffles, and these are outstanding! I might add a bit more spices in the ganache next time, but these are great! — Tom H. Nov 12, 2006

Pan-Roasted Broccoli

Posted by Roxygirl in Colorado

Traditionally, I have never been one for cooked broccoli. I have always prefered it in the raw. This recipe, however, has converted me. Simple and delicious. Thank you. — Tom H. Oct 20, 2006

Banana " Ice Cream "

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Geema

This was a good, healthy, eventing snack. Frozen banana has long been one of my favorite snacks, but now I have another great way to have it! I'm going to have to try adding some other berries next time. — Tom H. Oct 18, 2006

Pork Medallions With Cranberries and Apples

Posted by Susan Dillard

Great fall recipe! I had to make some changes because all of the neay-by grocery stores were being difficult. First, I could find ANY cranberries, not even frozen. So I had to go with half a can of whole cranberry sauce. Next, I had to go with... — Tom H. Oct 14, 2006

Grizzlenuckles

Definently great cookies! Very easy to make too. I'd recommend that if you have parchment paper, this is a very good time to use it, as these guys really like to stick to the pan, even a greased one. Another thing I like abut these, is that... — Tom H. Oct 6, 2006

Mashed Pumpkin Potatoes

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by justcallmetoni

This one'es been sitting in my saved recipes for a while now, so I decided to give it a try in conjunction with a dinner to welcome the Fall season. Everyone was very skeptical at first. Even my dad insisted that I had to go and buy a box in... — Tom H. Sep 30, 2006

Maple Glazed green Beans

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by Derf

Some of the best green beans I have ever had! Even my picky younger brothers loved them. I didn't have fresh green beans, so I used a 1 lb. bag of frozen, cut green beans, instead. Came out great! — Tom H. Sep 30, 2006

Spice Tea

I liked how it made the house smell, but didn't care for the flavor. There was also an odd gooie-ness in the bottom of my mug. — Tom H. Sep 24, 2006

Crock Pot Mediterranean Stew

Posted by Carianne

I really enjoyed the stew, though once again one of my brothers was complaining about the lack of meat. No matter, his loss. Just means more stew for me! I couldn't find okra (not a very easy to find ingredient out west), so I used green beans... — Tom H. Sep 10, 2006

Mbatata (Sweet Potato) Cookies

(1 person found this helpful) Posted by ~Rita~

Good, mildly sweet, cakey cookie, and a creative use for sweet potatoes, too. My little brother was sceptical about using potatoes in cookies, but he ate his words in the end (pun slightly intended). It may, however, be helpful to future readers... — Tom H. Sep 9, 2006

Excellent! Marvelous! Superb! I was really needing a way to use my tomatoes from the garden, and this recipe was perfect! Not to mention healthy. I put the leftovers in the fridge and found that they are just as delicious cold, the next day... — Tom H. Sep 4, 2006

Fat-free Chewy Chocolate Cookies

(2 people found this helpful) Posted by Kree

Great, easy, cookie! It's almost like a brownie when you bite into it. The dough is very sticky and I'd very much recommend lining your baking sheets with parchment paper, so the cookies will peel right off. — Tom H. Sep 3, 2006
